This however, is not the right way of measuring in respect to human perception. I acknowledge the current version has issues with blur and I already have an idea for version 4.0 greatly improving measurements and presentation. ### 2/5 — Liked the Old Display *2021-02-08* The older way of displaying frequencies was so much clearer. Can we have an option of using the old or the new? **Developer response:** Yes, there are plans for adding an option for suitable short-term averaging and improving upon the new frequency measurement system. If possible we want to avoid going back to the traditional Fourier-based analysis though, because we are not convinced by its accuracy. Biggest gripe, it only goes down to 50 Hz. It's very very basic. No options. Using to get used to special hearing aid. ### 5/5 — Very handy gadget indeed *2013-11-01* I've been a live sound engineer for years. I was at a gig recently and really wanted a spectrum analyser to confirm what my ears were saying and show someone else, and found this excellent app. It gives a really good graphical snapshot of the sound. It's possibly not scientifically accurate and of course is affected by the response of the iPhone mix, but as a quick guide to the shape of the sound it's perfect. I now use it surprisingly often for quick illustration of room acoustics and graphic eq. It might not make you an experienced sound engineer but its a great little tool to have in your kit. ### 5/5 — Gostei *2013-10-27* Muito bom! Não tem menu nem configurações! Thanks! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not accurate. *2023-04-01* 4kh sound displayed as 12kh peak on display. Results aren’t in the ballpark. Not usable. **Developer response:** Not sure if this is an April Fools' joke? Either way, I will make sure the next version is accurate for sine sweeps and pink noise. In my recent findings I can say Fourier based analyzers are very inaccurate for pink noise, the properly calibrated version of FrequenSee should be superior. ### 1/5 — Why did you change it?? *2023-03-19* This app used to be so perfect! It’s so hard to read now and it keeps freezing! Change it back please! I’m a sound engineer and found the old visualizer to be so helpful and accurate! Now I can’t use it **Developer response:** Version 3.1 won't freeze on iOS 16. Proper line drawing will come back in the next version. Accuracy is currently also top priority. Multiple test-tones were FFT’d accurately using standard inbuilt mic. Great for looking at general frequency content in a pinch.
