This is an amazing app that has helped me cook and learn new recipes, and I love it. It would just be so much more convenient for people who own devices other an apple device such as Samsung to also have an option to be able to connect with the app and drop scale because it literally does not work with a device that isn’t apple. I am an amateur baker and love the app! I use it all the time and find that the recipes are easy to follow. The only thing I can complain about is that I can’t input my own recipes into the app. I love that I can search for recipes based on an ingredient. All their focus is on acquiring additional brands. ### 1/5 — Zero customer support *2024-04-26, version 2.62.0* All of our Drop scales (we have 6 that we use for cooking classes) are no longer connecting to the Fresco app. For weeks we have reached out multiple times on both the frescocooks.com website and their Instagram through DM and comments on their posts. We have not gotten a response. Are we stuck with a bunch of worthless Drop scales now? ### 1/5 — Cannot opt out of recipes by type. Cannot opt in for recipe type *2021-04-13* The selections don’t include choices I can use. I only use a GE Cafe oven, so all the other devices are irrelevant. And I cannot omit them. Plug in “halibut” and see what comes up .... soup and stew and mushed together stuff. Looking for basic but complete recipes to learn to use to use the unit but the under 100 recipes are almost all cutsey frou frou dishes with odd ingredients and combinations. Also, why can’t I use the drop scale for all measurements, like I can with Perfect Bake? ... ### 1/5 — Can’t use your own scale without an account! *2019-09-29* I’ve been using my scale for years without an account. Suddenly the latest software update requires me to create an account and login! To use a scale! Absolutely ridiculous. Worse, no matter what email address I input when trying to create an account it says “user already exists!” No fallback mode to use your own hardware. Ugh! No login with Google or some other identity provider. Ugh ugh! I’m so infuriated that I’m tempted to hack this myself and create my own app for weighing things. Probably not worth the effort when I could just buy a new scale with a digital readout. But tempting.
