I booked an appointment through Fresha, received a confirmation, and completed all required intake information ahead of time. I also arranged and paid for a babysitter and took time away from my family to make it to this appointment on time. When I arrived, the provider was not there and I was completely no-showed. If I had been the one who failed to show up, I would have been charged a $195 cancellation/no-show fee, yet the business faced no apparent consequences for failing to honor a confirmed appointment. I understand that Fresha’s policy is to include reviews only from real customer experiences, and I agree with that approach. However, my experience should qualify as a genuine customer review because I made a good-faith effort to attend my confirmed appointment, completed the required intake process, and showed up as scheduled. The fact that the business failed to appear should not prevent customers from sharing that experience. Unfortunately, Fresha did not allow me to leave a review, even though this was a real interaction that directly affected my time and money. Reliability is an important part of the customer experience, and a rating system should reflect when a business does not show up for a confirmed appointment. I should have checked Yelp beforehand, as there are reviews mentioning similar issues with Cosmetic Collective in Palo Alto. Instead, I trusted Fresha’s rating system, which now appears incomplete because it does not capture situations where businesses fail to honor appointments.
