This latest release seems to be worse. Searching by customer name should be easy. Showing the outstanding balance for that customer seems like common sense. The app should show the same info on a customer as it does online but that’s never the case. Thank you! ### 2/5 — Not MTD compliment apart from VAT *2026-06-01, version 1.237.0* Sadly I’m going to have to move away from this app and port all my accounts away. I’ve been enjoying Freshbooks for a few years now but have to use a gov approved service to submit quarterly income reports for MTD (UK problem). Freshbooks do it for VAT but not the new landlords and sole traders legislation. Wish I didn’t have to move but I can’t not at this point. A customer told me that they saw a late fee which doesn’t show in the app. When I login online their invoice shows a different amount than it does viewing it through the app. ### 3/5 — Mileage Tracker *2026-03-27, version 1.236.0* Would be great if we could favorite places so we don’t have to enter our start place each time. It’s perfect for the web browser version, but unfortunately, it crashes frequently when I use it on my phone. Even after the latest updates, the problem persists. I’ve been using it for a few months now, and that’s the only big downside. Additionally, I would appreciate more customization options for the app’s layout of information. ### 2/5 — Constant issues syncing *2026-02-24, version 1.234.0* This app will stop syncing constantly. I’m on a pro 12 and it’s down about a week every month. I’m at the point I’m deleting the app every week just to reinstall because that’s their cure all. I’ve called customer support years ago and still dealing with the same bugs to this day, app freezes nonstop, never stays logged in, takes minutes to upload photos and then half the time just kicks you out, makes putting in receipt, and invoicing almost impossible. ### 1/5 — Mileage Tracking *2026-02-03, version 1.233.0* Where is the manual mileage tracking? I dont want mileage tracking in the background all of the time. I want control of the tools that I use. Who is this app for and who benefits? You can also call us at 1-866-303-6061 to troubleshoot any syncing issues. ^RJ ### 2/5 — Frustrating App *2026-01-25, version 1.233.0* Upon opening the app, I typically have to exit out and reopen multiple times for the app to show my invoices. Often times my initial open needs me to log in instead of using the Face ID which has been set up. The app doesn’t allow you to rearrange items on an invoice, forcing you to have to log into a web browser if you want to do that. A web browser is also necessary if you want to change a price or description of an itemized line to be saved in the queue - once you create an itemized line it’s set and can’t be edited in-app. This app often feels more a frustration than a help. ### 1/5 — Not reliable *2026-01-24, version 1.233.0* App constantly crashes and logs out. Invoices and expenses take long to sync. Sometimes have to sign out and force close app then log back in to get entries to show up. Very frustrated but I’ve basically given up. ### 1/5 — Not Worth the Cost *2026-01-19* Not a great app because it rarely works properly. Can’t rely on it. The expenses tallying doesn’t work as this feature regularly stops syncing to your bank so is more trouble than benefit. The feature of tracking mileage and driving also doesn’t always work so is inaccurate. The app also pushes your clients to use a credit card rather than have open options, and the app takes a sizable percentage from any CC transactions. Yet they still charge you a ton of money for monthly usage. ### 2/5 — No working *2026-01-02, version 1.231.0* Please develop the app. The expense and invoice section are not working. I try to create my expenses and invoices but there is no response. İt looks like always loading something but there is no progress. This is not useful ### 1/5 — Dashboard?? *2025-12-27, version 1.231.0* I swear there used to be a dashboard accessible via the app. Now I can only find it on my desktop. Why? ### 2/5 — Trash *2025-12-23, version 1.231.0* For an app that updates as often as this app does, I should not have to login to the app every single day after I click the remember me tab. I should not open the app and have to login every day and then have the app act like it’s my first time ever logging in and want to walk me through everything. Every single day it logs me out and I have to login. Erases all work unless explicitly saved. I can’t imagine most of these reviews being legitimate with how poorly programmed this app and data infrastructure is ### 1/5 — Constantly logs out *2026-06-10* App constantly logs out every other day and doesn’t sync properly. When going into a client and clicking the view all invoices link button, there’s no way to go back but to force close app. The interface is missing a back arrow. Avoid!!! ### 1/5 — Two bugs that cost me *2026-04-18, version 1.236.0* FreshBooks acknowledged two bugs in their software. I’m sure there’s more but these two have directly impacted me and I still got charged full price and they refused to refund any of the money I’ve paid. Simply not good business practice. ### 1/5 — Constantly fails *2026-04-04, version 1.236.0* Ridiculous. EVERY SINGLE TIME I go to sign in it asks for a code, even though EVERY SINGLE TIME I CLICK “REMEMBER THIS DEVICE “ and then half the time I finally get on it tells me I have no invoices and I can’t access my customers! Please, fix this issue!! I’ve put up with it for a long time now and I’m over it!!! ### 1/5 — Canceling *2026-03-26, version 1.236.0* It is virtually impossible to cancel this from the app. ### 1/5 — Have to sign in every time I use the app *2026-02-13* Why do I have to sign in every time I use the app? No Face ID? No remembering the device? Annoying as all hell when I’m at the gas station quickly trying to upload the receipt and I have to login, wait for a code, insert the code, finally log in. FIX THIS! Just found out you can’t make a recurring expense on mobile. But my monthly price went up? From $35 to $42. What are you doing with our money? ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Best for micro business *2026-06-04* I trialed QBO, Xero and Wave as well as Freshbooks. Stuck with Freshbooks because it’s the most intuitive and easy to use app. Nice complementary workflows between the mobile app and desktop web version. Has everything I and my accountant need and is easy to use. Support seems excellent too based on a few calls I made asking for help. ### 5/5 — Useless *2026-01-20, version 1.232.0* I’m trying to see my invoices on this app and nothing shows up. What is the purpose of this app it doesn’t pull and show any data, you can only create invoices and view clients. It does not show a list of existing invoices at all or have any invoice search function, perhaps you can find the invoices thru the client profile but that’s illogical and inefficient . Pointless app ### 5/5 — Mileage Tracking *2025-11-20, version 1.229.0* Please remember the last 5-10 addresses used for from/to addresses. Consider an option to create a return trip as well. Users could then just edit return trip start time. Wishing you a great day! ^LT ### 5/5 — Great app all around *2024-09-13, version 1.212.0* I recommend this app for small businesses. I got a good feel for it during the trial, particularly the receipt scanning, categorizing, taxes, and reporting. The mileage tracking feature is also very good, swiping for personal vs business. However, when entering this manually the app could use to and from quick entry from an in app address book or even the clients as well as a shortcut way to do a return trip swapping the original to and from. I did have to submit a ticket because my connected accounts do not seem to refresh from the app although it looks like it. You also cannot see accounts from the app. Finally the reports are and will be a huge time saver and look good.
