## What is FreshMart?

Take an empty corner lot and grow it into the busiest supermarket in town — one shelf, one checkout, one decision at a time.

FreshMart is a hands-on management game, not an idle tapper. Where you put a shelf decides how much it sells. A display facing the main aisle moves stock; the same display in a corner gathers dust. Tap any shelf to see exactly how visible it is, or switch on the traffic heatmap and watch where shoppers actually walk.

RUN A REAL SHOP
• Design the floor: aisles, endcaps, checkouts, and the queue that forms in front of them
• Eight departments, from produce sold by the kilo to frozen food that spoils overnight
• Order bulk stock into your backroom — cases are cheaper by the pallet, but cash tied up in inventory is cash you can’t spend
• Set prices against a drifting competitor, and run promotions when you need to move stock

BUILD UP AND OUT
• Add a second storey and connect it with stairs or an escalator — shoppers climb them and browse upstairs
• Open a clothing floor over the groceries: t-shirt shelves, rails, knitwear tables, mannequins, coats that sell all winter
• Pave the car park bay by bay. Cars turn in off the street, and a bigger lot lets a bigger crowd through the door
• The town lives around you — roads, neighbouring units, people on the pavement — and the seasons turn: rain, snow, autumn leaves, a heatwave in August

A CREW WORTH MANAGING
• Every hire has a name, a personality and a skill you can train — the Quick one flies through the queue, the Slacker works cheap
• Morale drops after a hard day of long lines. Pay a bonus, or watch them walk
• Cashiers, stockers, janitors and security, each with a job only they do well

THINGS GO WRONG
• Shoplifters skip the tills. Cameras and a guard on the floor are how you catch them
• Litter piles up and shoppers notice
• Heatwaves, supplier strikes, holiday rushes, pickpockets in the area, a farmers’ market that undercuts your produce, a bake-off next door

GROW, THEN FRANCHISE
• Eight levels of goals, each unlocking a system rather than a number
• A research tree of permanent upgrades: pallet racking, cold chain, modern tills, loyalty cards
• Franchise a finished store and it pays you every day, forever — then open your next location with a bigger grant

No timers, no energy bars, no fail state. Just a shop, and the decisions that make it work.

Free through level 3. One purchase opens the rest — no ads, no subscription, nothing to top up.

### 4/5 — Très bon jeu

*2026-09-09*

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-09-12

Two fixes straight from the playtest reports.

• Extending your shop no longer plants a wall in the middle of the car park. Bays the building takes are cleared properly and handed back to you, and a car parked on one drives home instead of sitting in your aisle.

• Checkout queues are honest now. A shopper still walking to a till used to count as queueing and give up somewhere in the aisles, so a big store kept being told to open more checkouts for a queue that was never there. Patience is spent standing in line, where it belongs.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-11

The shop goes up a floor. There’s a car park outside it. And everyone in the aisles is new: sixteen characters, re-modelled and re-animated.

UPSTAIRS
• Build a second storey and connect it with stairs or an escalator — shoppers climb up, browse, and come back down to queue. From the street, the shop is a building now.
• Open a clothing floor above the groceries: rails, knitwear tables, coats that sell all winter, and mannequins downstairs to say what’s up there. Slow-moving, high-ticket, and nobody price-checks a coat.

THE CAR PARK
• Pave it bay by bay. A car turns in off the street, parks, and someone gets out of it.
• Bays are the ceiling on how big a crowd the shop can hold. When they’re what’s holding you back, the day summary says so, and how many bays you’re short.

SIXTEEN NEW FACES
• Eight shoppers, and a matched pair for each of the four jobs — every one a new model with new animation.
• Each job has its own uniform, so you can tell a cashier from a stocker across the floor.
• Everyone walks at their own pace. The elderly shopper dawdles, the stocker is brisk, the guard patrols slowly — a full shop looks like a crowd instead of one person copied twenty times.

THE BACK ROOM IS A PLACE NOW
• Put a stockroom on the floor and your stockers walk to it, pick stock up and carry it to the shelf, instead of stock appearing out of nowhere.
• A loading dock shortens delivery times, and the back room grows with the shop.

PRICES AND PROMOTIONS
• Every department has its own price sensitivity. Bread gets checked against the shop down the road every day; a T-shirt does not. So each department has its own best price now, and the season moves it.
• A promotion lifts demand and pulls shoppers toward that department, instead of just donating margin.

THE CREW
• The coffee kiosk is a break room. Crew rest there and morale comes back on a calm day, not only when you pay a bonus.

FRANCHISING KEEPS THE SHOP
• Franchise a finished store and you keep it: it gets its own save, you can go back and stand in it, and it pays you a share of its daily profit for good. It no longer costs you the store.

FIXED
• No more strips of road showing through the shop floor
• The car park is one continuous surface instead of a patchwork of bays
• Shoppers and crew walk instead of gliding
• The camera no longer jumps when you lift a finger mid-pan, and the column down the right edge is three buttons instead of seven
• Closing time empties the shop — yesterday’s shoppers are no longer standing in the aisles this morning
• The daily challenge no longer asks for 15% more than yesterday, every day, forever

### 1.2 — 2026-09-03

Your playtest feedback, built in:
• Try a repaint before you pay — nothing is charged until you confirm.
• Panels are narrower and fold away; pan the camera with two fingers.
• Tap the star to see exactly what moved your rating, and the season to see what sells this week and what's coming.
• Prices shows the local market price and a 7-day trend; a new Demand tab shows which departments shoppers want.
• Hiring: choose between three applicants instead of a random hire.
• Cameras and bins show their reach when you place them.
• Levels 5–8 unlock sweets, wine, an apéritif corner, a bulk aisle, fine foods and a café kiosk. Self-checkouts have their own machine.
• Rent now says how many tiles it covers.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-02

After your first level-up, FreshMart now asks what you think of the game. A rating helps other shopkeepers find it. Thank you for playing!
