## What is Fretboard Trainer?

Instead of learning the Notes on a virtual Fretboard Image on the Screen you can use your real Guitar.

There are 6 Practice Sessions:
- Open Strings
- Fret 3
- Fret 5
- Fret 7
- Fret 10
- Octave Shapes

If you start a practice session the app shows you random notes from the selected fret on the screen and reads them out thru your phones speakers or headphones.
The App then uses your phones Microphone to listen to your Guitar.
If you play the correct note the App will ask for another random note and gives you one point. If you play a wrong string one point will be deducted.
You have one minute to collect as many points as possible.

In the Octave Shapes practice the app shows you a random note and asks you to find it on all 6 Strings. You have 3 Minutes to get as many Notes correct as you can.

It's a fun and efficient way to help you memorizing the notes.

Wo kann ich denn nach einem Gerätewechsel meine Einkäufe wieder herstellen?

Ansonsten könnte die Abstimmung des Micro etwas genauer funktionieren.

Wenngleich die App gut gemacht ist vermisse ich in den Einstellungen, dass das Tuning geändert werden kann. Bei mir sind die Gitarren meist auf Eb oder gar D gestimmt. Das sollte hier noch implementiert werden. Vielleicht könnte man sogar noch einen Schritt weiter gehen, sodass die einzelnen Saiten eingestellt werden können, um auch offene Stimmungen in den einzelnen Lagen zu bestimmt. Zu guter Letzt noch einen weiteren Vorschlag: Ich fände ich es aus pädagogischer Sicht besser, wenn man neben der freien Geschwindigkeit ein steigerbares Metronom als “Begleitung” mitlaufen lassen könnte.

Nachtrag: Leider funktioniert der „Tuner“ nicht richtig. Oder funktioniert diese App nur bei minderwertigen Gitarren, die nur verhältnismäßig wenig Obertöne produzieren? Es werden immer wieder verschiedene Töne an der gleichen Position angezeigt. Die Wahl der drei Mikrofone im iPhone 12 und verschiedene Sensibilitätsstufen helfen hier auch nicht weiter!

Ich bin durch den Fingerfux-Kanal bei YouTube auf die Apps von Stephan Düchtel gestoßen und muss sagen, vom Fretboard Trainer bin ich begeistert. Ich kenne ähnliche Apps bei denen man die Noten jedoch auf einem virtuellen Griffbrett benennen muss. Die eigene Gitarre benutzen zu können finde ich für den Lernerfolg aber zielführender und viel spaßiger. Die andere Bewertung kann ich nicht nachvollziehen, es sind alle Noten da.

 Wish it had an mode that wasn't timed and called every note on the fretboard, freedom mode.

This would be a simple tool to learn the fretboard by listening a note (only the letter) and playing that at the guitar. 

But im afraid to say, that the note C is not in the app. Thats strange.
