However, I find the user interface very convoluted. It seems like the are multiple paths to the same screen and sometimes when you select a game you have to go to home to start it. I have had many cases where I could not get the app the proceed to the next note and I have to restart things. Using the mic is a new feature that I like but setting it up requires you to search around for that feature. I don’t want to discourage anyone from using it because it will improve your understanding of the fretboard, just be prepared for a bit of a learning curve to use it ### 3/5 — Addicted *2026-02-11, version 27.1.1* I purchased the one month option as a proof of concept purchase. The demo version gives the impression that there will be all kinds of interactive scale/chord exercises that you’ll play with your guitar. All I see is a bunch of variations of individual note recognition and interval recognition. I’m not saying this isn’t useful. This will get you quickly learning all the notes on the fretboard. But that’s probably where the benefits will end. I also really don’t like that the scales aren’t color coordinated to their respective CAGED shapes. Best Guitar Purchase in A Long Time *2026-01-06, version 26.0.3* I have many apps, only a few that I use regularly. I picked this up before going on a trip as I couldn’t bring my guitar so I wanted to focus on music theory and fretboard knowledge. I wish I found this app long ago. It has many presets and options readily available, but the customization options are impressive. This is a rare app that feels worth a subscription given the depth it provides. This could easily be an app that offers fresh value for a month if not years. In the past week of usage, I have clearly seen a benefit to my fret board knowledge. Highly recommended for those who are ready to move into musicianship level knowledge - just perusing and playing with the tools here are quite inspiring and helped to point out the steps to take to get better, rather than just looking at the big gap of knowledge and not knowing where to start. Huge bonus points for the gamification of it, it’s definitely appeals to the Completionists and gamers like myself.
