## What is Fretrune?

Every fret is a rune. Fretrune teaches you to read them all: it names a note, you play it on your bass or guitar, and it tells you whether you found it.

Find a note with your own hands enough times and you stop counting frets and start reading them. That is the whole drill.

WHY LEARN THE NECK
• Keep up when someone calls the chords. C, F, G: find each root straight away.
• Put shapes in the right place. Every barre chord and scale shape starts from a root. Know the root, and you know where it goes.
• Solo from any string, instead of starting every solo on the low root.

HOW IT WORKS
• It listens through your microphone, so there are no cables and no answers to tap.
• Turn on voice prompts and each note is called out loud, so your eyes stay on the neck.
• Practice walks you across the neck one string at a time, low frets first, and moves on when you're ready.
• Notes you're shaky on come back more often, and notes you know come back less.
• Speed counts. A note reaches Solid once you find it quickly.
• Every note has a level, from New to Mastered, shown on a picture of your fretboard.
• Note Hunt asks for one note everywhere it appears in a zone, for all twelve notes in a shuffled order.
• No instrument to hand? The No-Guitar Quiz asks about notes on the neck and you answer on screen. It never changes your progress, because only playing a note counts.
• Share a picture of your neck, with every note at its level.
• On Mac, choose which microphone or audio interface it listens to.
• Fretboard Basics covers the ground rules if you're starting from zero.
• If you play both bass and guitar, progress on the strings they share counts for both.

It has no ads and needs no account. It keeps track of how well you know each note and how long you've practiced, and nothing else.

FREE, THEN ONE PURCHASE
• The low E string, frets 0 to 11, is free forever.
• The Fretboard Challenge is free: every string and every fret for 30 days. Get the first 12 frets to Solid before time runs out and the whole neck is yours to keep. If you don't finish, the neck locks back to the free string, and you can buy Full Neck.
• Full Neck opens every string and every fret, for good.

Full Neck is a one-time payment. Nothing renews. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Works with 4-string bass and 6-string guitar in standard tuning. Needs a microphone and a reasonably quiet room.
