## What is Fridge Poet?

Open the fridge. Three vegetables, half an onion, some leftover chicken. Wonder what to make. Wish you could ask a chef who knows what to do with exactly that.

Fridge Poet does exactly that. Pick a chef, list 1–5 ingredients you have on hand, and get a recipe written in that chef's voice — their techniques, their flavor language, their personality. Same fridge, a different dinner depending on who you ask.

A CAST OF 19 CHEF ARCHETYPES, EACH WITH A DIFFERENT VOICE
• The Showman — Italian, star plating, theatrical confidence
• The Dumpling Queen — Chinese, dumpling artistry, quietly unbeaten
• The Lightning Wok — Korean-Chinese delivery, breakneck speed
• The Naturalist — Italian, ingredient-driven, lets the tomato lead
• The Perfectionist — French haute cuisine, obsessively precise
• The Plating Artist — modern fine dining, visual stunner
• The Lightning Blade — Italian, knife-virtuoso elegance
• The Thai Whisperer — Thai, herb-forward, sweet-sour-salty-spicy balance
• The Chaos Magician — home cooking, sneaky-delicious chaos
• The Storyteller — Korean fusion, respectful and unexpected
• The Ramen Master — Japanese, ramen craftsmanship to the millimeter
• The Italian Charmer — authentic Italian, never stops talking
• The Seafood Fairy — Korean seafood mastery + gentle desserts
• The Witty Wokmaster — Chinese, high-end and playful

COOK-OFF MODE (premium) Pick two chefs. They get the same fridge. They each produce their own recipe — different techniques, different result. You read both, then crown a winner. The winning chef earns a permanent gold star that lives in your in-app rankings. Share your chef leaderboard as a poster-style image straight to social. Included with Fridge Poet Pro.

PICK A COURSE TYPE
Choose Main, Side, or Dessert. For a main, the chef quietly fills in any missing pillar — protein, carbs, fat, or fiber — so the dish is actually balanced. For a side, they keep it focused. For dessert, they lean sweet.

PER-SERVING NUTRITION + RECIPE SCALING
Every recipe shows estimated protein, carbs, fat, fiber, and calories per serving — computed locally from your ingredient amounts, not guessed by the LLM, so the numbers stay consistent. Tap ½× / 1× / 2× / 3× to scale amounts and nutrition for exactly how many you're feeding.

VOICE INPUT
Tap the mic and just say what's in your fridge. Transcription happens on your device — no audio leaves your phone.

INGREDIENT SUBSTITUTES
Out of gochujang? Out of fish sauce? Out of rosemary? Tap the swap icon for instant substitutions with the right ratio. Chef-suggested ingredients always come with a swap option, so you can cook even when the pantry doesn't quite match.

ENTIRELY BILINGUAL
Korean and English from day one. The app auto-detects your system language and lets you switch anytime in Settings. Recipes are generated in your chosen language — Korean reads like Korean, English reads like English. Not translated.

NO ACCOUNTS, NO ADS, ANONYMOUS ANALYTICS ONLY
No sign-up. No name, email, location, or contacts collected. Your saved recipes live only on your device. No advertising in the app. The only data we collect is fully anonymous funnel events (which screens get used, which buttons get tapped) to help us improve the app — never tied to you personally.

FREE TO TRY
Three free recipe generations a day, every chef unlocked, no paywalls in front of the core "pick a chef, pick ingredients, get a recipe" loop. Cook-Off and unlimited generations unlock with Fridge Poet Pro — $9.99/month or $79.99/year with a 14-day free trial. Cancel anytime, no questions, no dark patterns.

A NOTE
Fridge Poet is an independent fan-made companion app inspired by Korean cooking variety television. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any TV network or chef. The "chef archetypes" are fictional composites and recipes are AI-generated. Verify ingredient safety, allergens, and cooking temps yourself. Nutrition is estimated, not a label.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7.28 — 2026-09-09

Small fixes on the upgrade screen: the plan prices and the "Save 33%" tag no longer overlap on smaller phones, and the button now says exactly what you're choosing — a free trial on Annual, or a straight monthly subscription. Plus a few other bits of polish. Happy cooking!

### 1.7.27 — 2026-09-08

Fridge Poet now opens on the thing you came for. Arrive from the App Store looking for "what's in my fridge", the Korean chefs, or a cook-off, and the welcome, the demo and the first screen all match — with a "Try it first" button if you'd rather skip setup and just cook.

Under the hood we now measure where new cooks get stuck in setup and on the upgrade screen, so the next updates can smooth exactly those spots. Plus small fixes and polish throughout. Happy cooking!

### 1.7.25 — 2026-09-07

Boards are here. Save a recipe straight to a board — weeknight dinners, date night, the holiday table — and Fridge Poet suggests where it belongs as you save. Give a board its own cover art, split it into sections, pin your favorite board to the top of Saved, and see at a glance how many recipes landed there since you last looked. Boards are part of Fridge Poet Pro.

Saved got faster to live in: swipe a recipe to file it on a board or unsave it, search now finds boards too, and your sort and view settings stick between visits.

Upgrade screens now show the real price for your storefront everywhere, not just on the main Pro page. The 14-day free trial is marked on the annual plan itself, and the monthly plan says plainly that it bills today.

Plus painted new icons in Settings and on the import buttons, smoother transitions, and polish throughout. Happy cooking!

### 1.7.23 — 2026-09-04

Pro screens now show the correct price for your country — previously everyone saw the US price. The 14-day free trial is also clearly marked as part of the annual plan, so the monthly option no longer looks like it includes one.

The App Store now lists every language the app speaks: English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French and German.

Fixed sparkles from a chef reveal lingering on screen when you switched tabs mid-animation.

Plus small polish throughout. Happy cooking!

### 1.7.21 — 2026-09-02

Tell us what you can cook with — oven, stovetop, kettle, microwave, air fryer and more. Recipes now stick to the equipment you actually have, so a hotel room with a kettle and a microwave gets real recipes too.

Hitting your weekly cooking goal now gets a proper hand-painted celebration.

Fridge Poet Pro screens redesigned throughout — clearer plans, calmer layout, and honest terms everywhere.

Onboarding now shows fridge scanning and voice input, so you know you never have to type your fridge in.

Faster — fixed a stutter while recipes were generating.

Fixed English words creeping into Korean, Japanese and Chinese recipes, and chicken leg quarters are now a proper ingredient.

Plus a lot of smaller polish across spacing, animation and translations. Happy cooking!
