### 1/5 — Worst app

*2026-05-28, version 1.9*

Doesn’t work. Sits on the AC spinning forever and doesn’t turn it on or off.. Hottest day of the year and I can’t control this thing from my phone before I come home.
Worst app ever

** update. Ironically since I posted this my AC shows up in the app as “disconnected”. For 2 years it was connected but it was a hit or miss if I can turn it on from this app

Seriously? With all the AI tools out there you think they can fix this app.

I WANT A REFUND!!!!! Spent 1.5k on a smart AC that dumb as anything . Please tell me how to get my money back

### 1/5 — Single worst app I’ve ever used

*2026-05-26, version 1.9*

Literally the most inconsistent and poorly designed app I’ve ever been forced to use. In the age of AI, you’d think the team would spend a week and vibe code something that actually worked. I hate this so so much.

### 1/5 — Genuinely the worst

*2026-05-22, version 1.9*

Was so excited to have this new air conditioner installed, and when they told me there was an app for it, I was giddy. That is, of course, until I realize how absolutely horrific this app is. It never works. Everything take forever to load. It doesn’t input the commands anyhow. At the end of the day you use the remote control from 1975 or are you just get up and do it manually. As someone in tech familiar with app building, and considering the advancements in AI it’s absurd that they can’t build a functioning app for something so simple. I may in the end, built it myself with Claude code.

### 1/5 — Another terrible app

*2026-05-17, version 1.9*

Why can’t the developers get this right? Why is it so hard to build an app that simply works? It still can’t control anything. Just trying to turn off a unit takes a couple of minutes to register. Until then it just hangs there. The temperature slider is unusable. Just trying to adjust the temp from 72 to 76 is such a frustrating experience. I’m so frustrated with friedrich at this point. Do not buy their units.

### 1/5 — Inferior app to FriedrichGo

*2026-05-17, version 1.9*

Really disappointing. The load circle every time you change a setting makes this the opposite of convenient. The scheduling function doesn’t work. I like my Wallmasters but almost miss my window units that used FriedrichGo.

### 1/5 — Absolutely useless

*2026-05-05, version 1.9*

No matter what you try to do the app just hangs and nothing happens. And if you try to set a schedule it just says there is an error. Why can’t there just be an option to have the unit turn off after 4/6/8 hours?

Totally pointless to even have the app.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-04-15, version 1.9*

Does not work

### 1/5 — Still terrible

*2026-04-15, version 1.9*

In this day and age a company should be able to put out an app that actually works. Their previous app was just as bad. This one may even be worse. It’s basically useless.

### 1/5 — Cannot connect to WiFi

*2026-03-30, version 1.9*

Hi, the app does not let the character “#” be entered into the WiFi password field. My WiFi password has “#” in it. I can’t connect to my WiFi since I can’t enter the password. Please fix.

### 1/5 — New App

*2026-02-19, version 1.9*

I had my old Friedrich App for a few years, I was instructed today to download this new app, my issue is I can’t add my product because it doesn’t show, I see 3 Air Conditioners to add and neither one is mine, what shall I do?

### 1/5 — App bug - completely unable to login

*2025-11-11, version 1.6*

I just upgraded from the old app. I reset my password, enabled biometrics, but when I login on this new app, it shows the loading screen and then after about 3 seconds reverts to the login page and my email/password form fields have been emptied again. Can’t login. Fully broken. Clicked app support button on the App Store and it brought me to a FAQ page. No way to get help.

### 1/5 — Login not working

*2025-11-10, version 1.6*

The old app is no longer working and they told me to download this app. However, this app does not work either. Once I login, it just goes back to the login screen.

### 1/5 — Needs work

*2025-11-08, version 1.6*

This app crashes when I log in. Waste

### 1/5 — Worse then the old app

*2025-10-24, version 1.5*

I’m not sure how you could design an app that works worse than the olde version. At least the old app worked (very poorly) this new app just has an endless log in loop. 1 star.

### 1/5 — 0 stars

*2025-10-08, version 1.4*

:(

### 1/5 — Horrible, 10% of the time controls the AC, 90% never updated temperature

*2025-09-29, version 1.4*

How can you make such a terrible app? It just controls temperature on your AC. It takes nearly a whole minute just to open and load the ACs connected to WiFi. I’m shocked it can even do that. 90% of the time when I try to change the AC temp it just never does. Why did you even make this app? How can you even make it this bad? It’s the most simple piece of software ever. And you failed. It’s honestly impressive how spectacularly terrible it is. It’s like you tried to make it bad on purpose.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-09-19, version 1.4*

Old app was not good, but worked for the most part. New app won’t work at all, just spins when trying to turn on ac. Unit is in a shop, so control remotely every day, now neither will work

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Ay yi yi

*2026-07-14, version 1.9.1*

Have the last version of the wallmaster before they put the new inverter in everyone complains about.
The electronics here suck.
You have to hit power button twice for on off.
I think that ties in to this thing going into sleep mode which then makes this wifi app report inaccurate information sometimes

All around awful from the smart home perspective

How hard is it to integrate Matter? Or HomeKit? Would be so much better

### 1/5 — Limited functionality

*2026-07-10, version 1.9.1*

This app barely works. Limited functionality and quite a few bugs. Not sure if there’s no option to schedule turning off a unit rather than just adjusting the target temperature. Apps like smart home that companies like Midea use are 20X more functional. If you care about being able to control your AC with your phone, I wouldn’t recommend buying Friedrich.

### 1/5 — An embarrassment of an app

*2026-07-09, version 1.9.1*

This app is a joke. It will take five minutes to (maybe) turn off your ac. Forget changing the thermostat. And if you manage to make a change on the ac be thankful it didn’t crash. Whoever at Friedrich greenlit this app is an embarrassment to the company. Maybe they need a round of layoffs

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-07-02, version 1.9.1*

Useless. Wasted hours trying to get this thing to work.

### 1/5 — I think you broke it

*2026-07-02, version 1.9.1*

It was working fine before today’s app update. Now it says it’s disconnected and won’t reconnect.

### 1/5 — FriedrichLink App Security Bug: Password field blocks the ' ' character (Input Validation Error)

*2026-06-28, version 1.9*

I recently installed a premium Kühl KCVS12B10A unit. When attempting to connect the unit via the FriedrichLink iOS app, the network password field completely rejects/blocks the hash/pound character (#). It will not allow me to type the character from the keyboard, nor will it allow me to paste a password containing it.

This is a known input-validation code bug (likely an overly restrictive alphanumeric filter meant to block SQL injection) that forces customers to either degrade their entire home network security or set up separate guest networks just to use a premium product's Wi-Fi. Please escalate this to the mobile development team to fix the text-field character restrictions in the next app update.

### 1/5 — Horrible App

*2026-06-25, version 1.9*

The app barely works. Sometimes it won’t even open. If it does, it will just tell you that the unit is disconnected. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult. For the cost of the AC the app should be effortless and functional.

### 1/5 — Bad to worse

*2026-06-25, version 1.9*

Hard to set up. Slow to use. Now, after weeks of being at least functional, it won’t even load (this is despite clearing cache, deleting app, etc). What a frustration

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2026-06-09, version 1.9*

Awful app that gets stuck loading all the time. I don’t understand how one day it’s able to update the temperature and the next day it’s stuck spinning for 10 minutes. The previous app Friedrich connect worked okay but nowhere near as bad as this one and of course that one is gone. The ac and phone all have good WiFi connectivity. Friedrich needs to fix their app.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2026-06-08, version 1.9*

Can’t put ac on schedule to turn off or set the fan level. Really slow pathetic app. Can’t believe I get this with an $1800 ac

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good group feature

*2025-09-17, version 1.4*

Group feature is awesome

### 5/5 — It works!

*2025-09-06, version 1.4*

Oh my God. I finally can access my air conditioner remotely. I got my air conditioner a year ago, but have been using the Frederick connect app per the instructions that came with it. Needless to say, the remote feature did not work with the old app. I was not aware of this app until the old app gave a notice that it is no longer being supported and then I should move onto the Friedrichlink app. I wish I had found this app sooner than I did. This app was easy to set up and works brilliantly.

### 5/5 — Nice Interface

*2025-04-15, version 1.0.0*

Nice Interface

### 3/5 — Slightly better than android version

*2025-08-10, version 1.2*

Just installed Android app which is barely functional so figured I’d try this version on my iPad. Exact same issues as everyone else - slow responses, screen frequently sticks on spinning loading icon, and scheduler doesn’t work at all. Can’t see temperature under finger when dragging, Also, not optimized for iPad screen, clearly designed for an iPhone only. At least it does eventually turn the units on, unlike the Android app which is a crapshoot whether it will work.

### 3/5 — Better but needs work…

*2025-08-04, version 1.2*

Better than any of the previous iterations of Friedrich apps for mobile control but still pretty bad. Slow, not very responsive. Every time you change a parameter like fan speed or temperature it puts up a loading indicator. UX is more 2012 than 2025. Sometimes it gets stuck on the loading indicator and I have to kill and reopen the app and attempt to make the change (temp, fan speed, power on, whatever) again. This stuff should be happening in the background, not freezing the app until it receives a response.

Oh and the schedule function doesn’t work for the Wallmaster. “There was an error. The data couldn’t be read because it isn’t in the correct format.”

### 2/5 — Horrible

*2026-07-07, version 1.9.1*

The slowest app in the history of apps. I watch it spin and spin and do nothing. This needs a major overhaul..it’s horrible

### 2/5 — Barely works

*2026-05-18, version 1.9*

The app is pretty useless. You can see the current temperature and settings, but it is almost impossible to change anything because the controls simply do not respond.

### 2/5 — Terrible

*2025-09-04, version 1.4*

Just as had. Nothing but problems

### 2/5 — Still can’t schedule

*2025-08-09, version 1.2*

The schedule function still doesn’t work for my Wallmaster, so I don’t know what was the point of this app update. I’ll change my review if it ever works.
