If you put multiple apps into a group, you would assume that the time limit you set applies across that group of apps in summation, but you’d be incorrect! Otherwise, I like the app a lot, but apps need to be added individually with separate time limits to work properly. **Developer response:** Hey! I know it’s been a while but just spent the last few months adding this ability - it’ll let you do it if you update the app! I currently have 12 minutes of screentime and my Instagram app is blocked, even though my limit is supposed to be 60 minutes. This has happens to me multiple times and the only way to bypass it is to delete the app or ask my friend to extend the limit to 60. Will not fork over a dime for this product until it is reliable **Developer response:** 😭😭 rip, I just released an update that fixes a lot of the time limit bugs. Pretty valid tho ngl, the Apples Screen Time service is a little buggy itself which makes trouble shooting difficult. To block more i have to pay which i understand but then again for people who want to use the app for free to try it out and so on its off putting… ### 3/5 — want more flexibility with app groups *2026-01-02* doesnt let you restrict both the total amount of use per day AND which hours of the day you can use an app. for example: i dont want to use any apps before 10am, but i also dont want to use app xyz for more than 30 min per day. so i restrict app group 1 (containing xyz) to 30 min and restrict app group 2 (the rest of my apps) to before 10. however, i cant include xyz in group 2 since its already in group 1, which is a little frustrating. also would be nice to be able to edit the apps in an app group after creation. **Developer response:** Hey! If you update it’ll let you do it, thanks for the review 🫡 ### 4/5 — logs me out after using it once *2026-07-04* friend controls is a great app, and it's genuinly helped me with lowering down my screen time, but i've noticed a problem that's been happening for a while now. i have my tiktok app screen time set to an hour and a half, but whenever i use the app, even if it's just for 1 minute, and i exit it completely, later when i try to go back in it says i used up all my screen time. and when i ask for more screen time from my friend and i repeat the same action, the same thing happens again. i'm not really sure what the problem is, but other then that it really is a great app that's helped me control my screen time hours. ### 4/5 — Wish this was on android as well!! *2026-04-30, version 1.90.2* This concept is SO cool dude like actually! As soon as you open the app for the first time, it is very humorous and really easy and simple to set up and navigate the app. You can only limit one app for free, but this works fine for me and is completely understandable as apps are expensive to run.
