Bottom of inventory bar is cut off, some of the dialogue audio in the beginning of game is cut off, and each time I open the game to continue playing, I have to repeat the last few actions that I already completed. Hopefully I don’t run into any bigger issues, because other than the problems I mentioned, this is a high quality game with an interesting storyline. **Developer response:** Hello. Being able to stay home, safe and sound, to watch one is ideal; but feeling like I’m taking part in a captivating cinematic adventure is even better. This game’s a real screamer, and it is enhanced by well-rounded supporting components: mesmerizing plot, authentic characters, eerie scenery, and stimulating gameplay. You play a paranormal investigator who explores an abandoned, decrepit old movie theatre in search of a missing person. The clever idea of jumping into varying film reels, each having its own distinct subplot, helps maintain a refreshing storyline, as does the changing scenery. The environmental designs evoke a brooding atmosphere; the pyrotechnic special effects provide some jump moments, as ghastly apparitions often jump out at you from every angle. MadHead’s characters always exude true-to-life personalities; I usually end up becoming emotionally attached to them. MD’s eccentric gameplay is ubiquitous throughout the adventure, ensnaring me into a creative diversity of entertainment. The inventory is interactive and puzzle-like. The HOSs are creatively executed, as such with the one in which you find a floating object in accordance with a pair of clues in a book; then you get snippets of the backstory. The puzzles are simple and brief and suit your objectives. You do need to carefully observe the scenes to find the well-camouflaged collectibles. Gameplay is flawless, showcasing the adeptness this developer (FF) is known for. I thank FF for releasing this game to all the dedicated fans of MadHead to keep their legacy running. Es hat alles was ein gutes Spiel ausmacht. Es gibt eine Karte für‘s schnelle weiterkommen. Such- sowie Sammelobjekte sind vorhanden. Die WBS sind abwechslungsreich nur manchmal etwas dunkel.Die Aufgaben sind teilweise anspruchsvoll, aber lösbar. Auch die Gestaltung der Schauplätze ist sehr gut und passt zur der Geschichte. Es handelt sich hierbei nicht um ein F2P-Spiel, die ich aus Prinzip nicht kaufe. Das Spiel wird in deutscher Sprache angeboten und ist auch von der Spieldauer seinen Preis wert. Ein Bonusspiel ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Schade ist, dass diese Art von Spielen nicht öfter angeboten werden. Ich jedenfalls freue mich schon auf ein neues Spiel. ### 5/5 — Fright Chasers: Director’s Cut by LynxMinx *2024-02-02* Well, this game just reinforces the fact that Friendly Fox made a great decision to distribute the Mad Head games. Mad Head has a legacy and we have some fabulous games. I won’t go into detail because I tend to do “spoiler alerts”. However, I can tell you that this game is exciting and thrilling to play. The plot is terrific, the gameplay is quirky and there is a fabulous variety of HO scenes and mini-games, including our favorite type: mazes! I has better not say anything else. Oh, don’t let the size of the game fool you. It was lengthy! I will tell you that the game had no technical issues and ran wonderfully, besides being an amazing adventure. Good story, lots of hints to move along, good graphics. However, I am stuck and have spent two hours trying to get the solution. There’s no help online. It’s the board with red and gray balls and the only clue I’m given is it’s a RANDOM solution. Problem is that my ball has to start first putting me ALWAYS in the vulnerable no win position. Can’t believe it made it out of the development room! Animation is crude and amateur at best. Illustration is blurry. Glad to say this one is like the old days when it took a while, was just challenging enough to be fun but not overly aggravating and had a great story line. I very much liked the first Fright Chasers and was so sorry to see they were moving to PC and very excited to see that Mad Head made the decision to also produce a mobile version. This is a great title and I hope they keep it up — so many other great titles have fallen by the wayside or have been done so badly that nobody even wants to play them. This game is not one of those, in fact, it’s one that I will return to again and again and enjoy multiple times. Well done!! PS: since this game is based on old movie footage, to make it feel real, occasionally black lines show up on the screen. Hope this helps. Update 2\6 I would like to read the developer’s response. Please post in English. I really enjoyed this game with mazes and the usual MadHead quirkiness of gameplay. It is quite lengthy including the bonus chapter. It involves playing through several movie reels to free the ghosts from their entrapment. It also has collectibles which can be difficult to spot but if you miss a few there is a chance to find them in the extras after the compilation of the game.
