## What is Frightfolio?

Frightfolio is the notebook I always wanted for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando. It is an independent fan app, made by a fan who kept losing track of which houses he had done, how many times, and which ones were actually any good.

IN THE PARK, TONIGHT

Check in when you arrive, and log a run as you come out of each house, saved before anything else happens. Log the same house again and it counts again, because a second run is a different run.

Then an optional sheet asks for what you will have forgotten by morning: your rating, how frightening the run was, which line you used, how long you stood in it, tags and a note. Skip it and the run stays exactly as saved.

A Live Activity on your Lock Screen shows tonight's count, and it can log another run of the last house without you unlocking your phone.

On Apple Watch, check in, log each house, rate it with the Digital Crown and see the waits, even with your iPhone out of reach. Siri, Control Center and the Action button can log a run too.

While the season runs, each house page shows its wait right now, and a run can record what you actually waited.

If you like, Frightfolio reminds you to check in when you reach Universal Orlando on an event night. Your location stays on your phone.

WHAT IT KEEPS

One rating per house per season, 1 to 10 in halves, and each run keeps its own scare score.

A ranking of every season you went to, first to last. The app can draft one from your ratings, and nothing reaches your ladder until you say so.

Your nights. Every finished night prints a ticket, and the tickets line up on Home.

Your season. Add what the pass, Express and parking cost, and see what each night came to.

A passport, with a pin for every house you have been through and every season you have attended.

Share cards for your ranking, a night's ticket, Top rated and what your season cost, drawn in the app's own art.

Your whole history. Every Orlando season back to 1991, 35 seasons and 241 houses, each described in the app's own words. Add the houses you did years ago from memory, and fix any night later.

Search. Every house, scare zone, show, season and tag. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, ask in plain words, like scariest houses I haven't done.

Customise Home and Profile. Put their sections in your order and hide the rest.

Widgets and watch complications for season progress, your passport, tonight's count and the next night.

A backup of everything you have logged, as one file.

WHAT EVERYONE THINKS

Each house shows the average rating and scare score from everyone who has rated it, once 3 people have. Top rated lists the season's houses by rating or by scare. No average shows whose numbers are whose. A review shows its writer's rating.

With an account, review houses, zones and shows, post, react with any emoji and follow other fans. A profile shows someone's seasons, houses, favorite house and top five. Its stats never include a rating.

YOUR ACCOUNT, IF YOU WANT ONE

You do not need an account to log anything. Everything you log is kept on your phone. An account, with Apple or Google, gives your log a username and saves a copy of it where only you can read it, so it all comes back on a new phone. Your house ratings count in each house's average. Your profile shows a short summary of your log, with your picture and banner if you choose them, and a private profile shows it only to the followers you accept.

Frightfolio has no ads and no analytics software, and it does not track you. It is made by one fan and runs on tips.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Frightfolio is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Universal Destinations & Experiences or NBCUniversal. All the artwork and descriptions in the app are its own, and the pages they were researched from are listed inside it. House names and season dates appear as facts about the event. Live wait times come from Queue-Times.com, credited in the app as their terms ask.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.1 — 2026-10-20

R.I.P. tours
Start an R.I.P. tour and the night turns into a tour view, with the houses still to do, the ones you've done and how far through the season's houses you are. During a tour the night hides wait times, Next up and your plan, so nothing argues with your guide. Tour runs ask for your rating and scare, and never how long you waited. End tour brings the normal night back. Your Apple Watch follows the tour too.

Rank as you go
After you rate a house, the sheet can show your season ranking with the house already placed by its score. Nudge it up or down, then place it, or skip and rank later. Turn it off under Night in Settings.

Plan a night ahead
Plan any night left in the season, days before you go. Each night shows how long the lines usually run, and your plan comes from past nights like it. A saved plan waits on the Your nights shelf, and on the night it updates from the live waits.

Ask
On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, ask about a house's story, its usual lines or your own nights, and get a short answer. Questions are answered on your iPhone from what Frightfolio already holds, and are never sent anywhere. Ask about a house from its page, or type a question in Search. With Spoiler-safe on, the story of a house you haven't done this season waits until you ask for it. Ask what order to do the houses tonight or on a night ahead, and get a plan with likely waits. When Ask doesn't know, Search the web opens your question in Safari.

Spoilers in reviews and posts
Hide just part of a review, post or comment. Add a spoiler section, or select words and choose Mark as Spoiler. Readers tap each hidden part to show it, and tap again to hide it. Spoiler-safe now hides details only for the season that's running.

Fixes
- Logging runs on Apple Watch while your iPhone is in your pocket no longer makes the app close over and over.
- Runs logged from your Apple Watch, the Lock Screen or Siri reach your account even while the app stays in the background.
- A stamp already in your passport is no longer announced as new.
- The scare score is always within reach on the rating and Quick add sheets.
- Tickets on the Your nights shelf no longer overlap.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-10-16

A new look
Home is now a full-screen night sky that moves as you scroll, and the screens say less. Prefer the original? Choose Classic under Look in Settings. Every feature works in both.

Hollywood
Hollywood joins as its own event, with its own seasons, houses, scare zones and passport. Choose Orlando, Hollywood or both when you open the app, or any time in Settings, under Your event.

Plan your night around the lines
Plan my night shows the best time for each house and plans the whole night, with a range for every wait. It plans again as lines change and tells you when a faster order opens up. Your plan follows you to the Lock Screen, the Dynamic Island and Apple Watch.

Time your wait
Tap I'm in line and Frightfolio times it. Log the run and the wait is filled in. The recap shows Time saved when the numbers back it up.

Share your real waits
Signed in, the recap asks once whether to share how long you really waited. Say yes and the minutes you stood in line help make everyone's predictions better. They are shared without your name or account, only totals are shown, and you can take them back in Settings.

Ask about waits
Ask Search which house to do next or what the shortest line is right now. iPhones without Apple Intelligence get buttons for the common questions on event nights.

Weather for your night
Your recap and ticket remember the night's weather, and on event nights Home and Plan my night tell you when rain or storms change your plan. Turn it off in Settings, under Reading.

Line drop alerts
Turn on Tell me when a line drops in Settings, under Night, and Frightfolio lets you know when a house you haven't done has a much shorter line than usual.

Your keepsakes
Every season you attend is a coin in your passport, in that season's colors. Seasons are a stack of posters, your profile shows a fan card, and the recap can print your night's ticket.

Made for iPhone Duo
Open your iPhone Duo and Frightfolio spreads across both halves. The passport reads like a book.

Small things that help
Signing out asks first. The house page, Search, Settings and the recap show less and read faster.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-06

Frightfolio on your wrist
Check in, log each house as you walk out and rate it with the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch. Runs you log while your iPhone is out of reach are saved to it when it's back.

The whole night on your watch
Mark scare zones as walked and shows as seen, give a run its scare score and tap Leaving now when you're done. The recap waits on your iPhone.

Waits and your season
See every house's wait on your watch, shortest first, and how many of the season's houses you've done. Put Frightfolio on your watch face, and on event nights the Tonight card rises in the Smart Stack.

Other people's profiles
Tap anyone's name to see their banner, picture, seasons, houses, favorite house and top five. A profile's stats never include anyone's ratings.

Public or private
Choose who sees your profile in Settings, under Account. Private accounts choose who follows them, and new requests wait at the top of Activity.

Pictures on Community
Profile pictures now appear beside reviews, posts and comments, and banner photos on profiles, for public accounts when you're signed in. Move and zoom your picture and banner photo to choose what shows.

Followers and a line about you
Profiles show how many people follow someone and how many they follow. Add one line about yourself in Edit profile, and share your profile with a Follow me card that opens it.

React with any emoji
Double-tap a review or post to heart it, or press and hold the heart for more reactions.

A new Community
The feed has a new look, with each house on its own plate and Everyone and Following at the top. Write posts and reviews on one page, with the house, a GIF and spoilers right under your words.

Search for everything
On iOS 26 and later, Search has its own button at the end of the tab bar and your passport opens from Home and Profile. Find houses, scare zones, shows, seasons and tags, and people by name or @username when you're signed in.

Ask in plain words
On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, ask Search something like scariest houses I haven't done. It finds them on your iPhone.

Siri and the Action button
Ask Siri for a house's wait or how many houses you've done tonight, and log a run or check in by voice. Add Log a run or Check in to Control Center, the Lock Screen or your iPhone's Action button. On Apple Watch Ultra, the Action button can open the house list in one press.

A nudge when you arrive
Turn on Arrival reminder in Settings, under Night, and Frightfolio reminds you to check in when you reach Universal Orlando on an event night. Your location stays on your iPhone.

Activity
Activity is grouped into Today, This week and Earlier, and you can follow someone back right from it. Get a notification when someone comments on your review or post, or follows you, and choose which in Settings, under Community.

Fix a night later
Edit a past night's date or times, or add the runs, scare zones and shows you forgot. Remove anything you logged by mistake, and take a stamp out of your passport when nothing earns it anymore.

Small things that help
On iOS 26.1 and later, Start tonight and Resume sit just above the tab bar, which slims down as you scroll. Shows have descriptions now. What's New appears the first time you open an update, wherever the app opens. If you follow nobody yet, the Following tab offers the developer's account, which now has a DEV tag.

### 1.1 — 2026-10-04

Scare zones and shows
Every season now lists its scare zones and shows beside its houses. Log them during a night, rate them from 1 to 10, and add the ones you did in past seasons from memory. A night counts even if it had no house.

Rank the scare zones
Put a season's scare zones in your own order by tapping them into place. Search finds them too.

Reviews on every house
Write what you thought of a house, a scare zone or a show, and mark it if it gives anything away. Reviews marked as spoilers stay covered on houses you haven't done. Heart the ones you agree with.

Posts, comments and GIFs
Post about a house or about the whole season, comment on reviews and posts, and add a GIF.

The Community tab
A new tab gathers the season's reviews and posts, the people you follow and your Activity. Anyone can read it, and writing takes an account. Report anything that breaks the rules and block anyone you'd rather not hear from.

Widgets and Live Activity
The Live Activity and the Tonight widget now count scare zones and shows as well as houses.

Ranking in one place
Rank any season in one sheet. Tap houses into your order, drag them and rate them as you go. Nothing is saved until you tap Done, and you can share your ranking straight after.

Small things that help
The Seasons list marks the seasons you went to. Mark a house as experienced without checking in, remove a rating you didn't mean to give, and hide the passport stamps you haven't earned yet.

R.I.P. tours at check-in
Say whether tonight is an R.I.P. tour as you check in. Nights without one no longer mention it, and a house you did off the tour is one tap on its rating sheet.

A roadmap in Feedback
See what's being built and what's planned, and vote for the ideas you want next.

What's New, once
After an update, Frightfolio shows you what's new the first time you open it. Settings keeps every version's notes.

Sturdier cloud save
A restore picks up where it stopped if your connection drops. Delete all data catches up with your other phones before it deletes. If part of your log needs a newer Frightfolio, the app tells you to update.
