Every candidate being proposed lives literally across the country. ### 2/5 — Privacy & Performance Bad *2026-07-17* This app WILL notify your contacts with the app that you’ve joined despite saying explicitly that it won’t do that lol. And the UX is slow and cuts my music off. Weak. **Developer response:** Hello - Just to clarify, the app does not send notifications to your contacts saying you’ve joined. What can happen is that existing users who already have you in their contacts may see you appear as a mutual connection once you sign up. That’s how the FRNDS matching works, but it’s not the same as the app messaging your contacts. Sorry about the interrupting your music , that’s not ideal. If you’re still running into issues, feel free to email support@frndsoffrnds.com and we’ll look into it. ### 3/5 — not quite *2025-10-18, version 1.0.9* i do love the concept of this. everyone is 24 (and probably even younger) for now, though. look fwd to this reaching a slightly older demographic or hinge just adopting this feature🤷🏻‍♀️ ### 1/5 — Not realistic to use *2025-04-02* I was excited to try frnds of frnds, but the requirement to get 20 people I know to join before I can even use the app is completely unrealistic. Most people don’t have that many people who are willing to download a new dating app just so one person can use it. This setup makes it feel like a pyramid scheme rather than a functional dating platform. Unless they change this requirement, I can’t see myself (or most people) ever actually using it. ### 1/5 — Great idea but doesn’t work *2025-03-29* I loved the idea of this but, after getting approved, it tells you that you have to add FIFTEEN members to the app before they let you have any matches. Really? If I had 15 single friends, I probably wouldn’t need this app. So I tried to delete my account and it doesn’t let you! I hit delete and it took me to a new page to sign up for the app again. So now I assume my info is gonna be held hostage on this app so it appears that they have users and they really don’t. Scam. **Developer response:** Hi! I completely understand your concern. Just want to confirm that when deleting your account your data was wiped on our end. We've added a pop-up so users will have confirmation when their data has been deleted - so we do really appreciate your feedback! Also, for our required contact count, as we gain more users, we will continue to lower the number of contacts needed to access matching! But for now, you can also invite friends in relationships to create matchmaker profiles to help get that number up. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts! Such a great idea! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Poorly executed, just use Cerca *2026-08-05* The concept of this app is almost identical to Cerca, where I’ve had much better experiences (cleaner user interface, more reliable matching, much larger base of users, and for some reason more attractive users). This app is good on paper but was not well executed. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-07-20* This app simply is unrealistic. Really glitchy and poor interface. If you’re open to it, email us at steven@frndsoffrnds.com with a bit more detail (or screenshots) and we’ll take a look. ### 1/5 — freezes during onboarding *2026-07-16* I get texts from an automated number for this, seems interesting but it freezes as soon as I get to the ‘share contacts’ part of onboarding. Really lame, this is a basic part of building an app. **Developer response:** Sorry about the freeze at the contact-sharing step, that’s definitely not the experience we want. A small percentage of users hit a temporary hang there (usually related to iOS permissions or a momentary glitch). Try force-quitting the app, then reopening and granting contacts access again. If it still freezes, email us at steven@frndsoffrnds.com with your device model + iOS version and we’ll dig in right away. Appreciate you giving it a shot , we want this part smooth for everyone. ### 1/5 — Don’t use this *2026-07-15* This app won’t let you pic your pictures or anything else about your profile. It’s takes forever to verify that you are who you say you are and then after that it takes forever to allow you to post any pictures of yourself. It requires you to share your contacts but won’t let you create a profile. Waste of time of an app **Developer response:** Sorry the onboarding and verification felt slow for you. Photo selection, identity verification, and contact access are all required steps so we can keep the community safer and make mutual-friend matching work. If something is actually blocking you from finishing your profile, email us at steven@frndsoffrnds.com with your username and we’ll look into it. Most people get through the process without major delay. ### 1/5 — Good in theory, not so great once you actually try it *2026-06-30* This app is decent in theory, but not so great once you actually try it. First of all as of July 2026 you have to invite at least 5 people to the app before even using a single feature (kinda weird imo) Second, once I did this, I maybe was able to see 4 different people per day, swipe on them and then nothing. Even after swiping yes on those 4 people it times me out and says come back tomorrow for more matches. Realistically not good in practice so not even worth the download lol **Developer response:** We appreciate the feedback, and we're sorry you didn't enjoy your experience. The purpose of the app is to leverage your network to create connection, and by inviting your friends, you have a better chance of growing a robust dating pool of mutual friends. We initially only offer a few potential matches (6) a day to encourage users to be intentional rather than endlessly swipe. We understand these functions may not have aligned with your hope for the app and we thank you for using us and giving us feedback. ### 1/5 — Requires full contact access *2026-06-23* It won’t let you use the app even if you add limited contacts. If this app wasn’t selling your contact list, they would let you use it without dumping your entire list. **Developer response:** We don’t sell contact lists, period. The app is built around mutual friends, so it needs access to contacts to find people you already know in common - you can limit the contacts. However limited contacts access often doesn’t give enough data for the matching to work, which is why it can block progress. If you’d rather not share contacts, that’s completely fine, the app just won’t be able to surface as many mutual connections.
