This app works as intended and is the best identification app out there.

I downloaded the trial version to try to identify a peeping noise in the backyard. Instead the app kept identifying nearby traffic noise as a Southern Leopard Frog. If I was REALLY into identifying frog sounds I could see paying a ONE-TIME charge of $2.99 for the app, but $2.99 a month forever for an app that didn’t work for me? No thanks.

Account setup was clunky. Got it to work, but then it errored on my first frog identification. My phone is the latest with all updates. I don’t think there’s a way to have the app reference a recording already taken. .

Identifies species fairly reliably.    The A.I. will continue to learn and only get better I'm sure.  The educational resources are handy too.   My boy's loved giving this a try.    It's practically impossible to sneak up on some species to see what type of frog they are, and being able to use the calls is genius!

One star because it’s no longer free! The app was terrible anyways and nothing like that famous bird call app only giving you one species of at once and most always not even a species found in the area you are in! I was in upstate ny (real upstate) and it was giving me frog ids that don’t from NJ of all places!

As for species accuracy, we’re constantly improving our model and rely on user feedback like yours to make it better. The model is trained on real-world recordings, but location-based accuracy is still a work in progress, especially in overlapping regions like Upstate NY and NJ, where some frogs do share ranges. That said, your point is valid, and we’ll use it to guide improvements.

We truly appreciate you trying the app and hope to earn back your trust with future updates.
