Is there a free trial to preview the community in my area? This seems like a great idea but there’s no indication of its existence or success in my city. And serving a local area is a key function of the app. I’m not paying to find out like others that there is no community on this community based app! What are the options to test this out? But you literally can’t do or see anything unless you pay a fee. I’m 25 and there are mostly 50 year olds and about 3 people in the same city as me. I keep seeing the same faces time and time again and the price is disproportionately bad for this. However, there are literally no men on here😂 Every once in a while, I’ll go on here to see if there is anyone and it always just says ‘that’s it for now but come back tomorrow’. They barely have any members. When I signed up there was no free way to swipe through other applicants. It’s just a paywall. After reading the reviews and seeing that other people are complaining about it being a paywall, and the developers saying we have to support ourselves and have some sort of sponsor for people who cannot afford. It’s just bullcrap for saying we don’t care about you, we just wanna take your money because you’re desperate. A lot of single parents don’t have the money to be throwing around on an app especially £30 a month on an app that looks like it doesn’t even work. A very vocal minority push an agenda that women are always the victims and men the aggressors. If you suggest otherwise as a Dad, you will be painted as the villain they need you to be, ganged up on and hounded until you leave the app. The irony of this seems conveniently lost on everyone. Unsurprisingly, there are very few Dads posting. The people here are sincere and welcoming. I think the “Dating” aspect is what’s throwing people off. It’s not just mums on here, there are also many single dads in different situations and stages of life. Although it might seem glitchy and slow, it’s worth sticking with and joining in, I can’t emphasize that last point enough. It’s not just the feed that gets attention, it’s worth joining the two most popular chatrooms (feeling a bit lonely, dating support and advice) to introduce yourself, both rooms are pretty care free and everyone is welcoming and will talk about nearly anything 😅 I have met two other people from the app and had a great time with them and their kids socialising at a racing circuit. I’ve never tried the dating aspect of Frolo but the community are so wonderful and supportive. I’ve had the app for 2 and a half years and I’m so grateful for Frolo and the people I’ve met as a result of it. It’s been a breath of fresh air to reconnect with people in similar circumstances to me and people that just understand the difficulties you’re facing. Whether it’s parenting struggles, support through the breakdown of a relationship, finding ways to work on yourself or just general loneliness, the Frolo community is full of kind hearted and helpful people, just wanting to look out for each other. It’s a lovely environment. There have been some bugs and glitches for me in the past although these aren’t present for me at the moment, I have no complaints!
