## What is FrontDepth View?

FrontDepth View provides real-time visualization of both TrueDepth camera data and front camera imagery. You can switch between the front camera view, the TrueDepth depth view, or a combined mode that merges both sources to enhance environmental awareness and depth perception.

* FrontDepth modes (Options 3 and 4) are particularly effective in low-light or dark environments, helping to reveal surrounding structures and spatial depth. The visible depth range can be adjusted using the slider at the bottom of the screen.
* Combined modes (Options 2 and 4) blend front camera imagery with TrueDepth data to enhance object contours and improve depth detail.
* In Combined mode, tap the subview to enlarge it for a closer inspection. Tap again to return to the split or combined layout.
* 3D Point Cloud View allows you to freely explore your surroundings in an interactive 3D perspective by panning the screen.
* The center-point depth is displayed in real time in centimeters.

You can capture screenshots at any time by tapping the camera icon, and view your saved images by tapping the photo gallery icon.

### 4/5 — It’s good but, no way to export

Everything works fine, but it’s just annoying that there is no way, as far as I can tell, to export the generated pointcloud, which limits what can be done with it.

**Developer response:** This is our first app built around the TrueDepth sensor. In addition, we developed "Measure Face," which leverages TrueDepth technology to perform real-time facial feature measurements.

I have an iPhone 14 and I have a front LiDAR Scanner and so I covered my actual camera but not the LiDAR and it still showed the outlines of objects live so it’s not fake and it’s free so no trial that I’m not gonna use every day

I covered my ir camera and it blacked out, this tells me this isn't using my main camera, GG, but it doesn't take advantage of my all screen display, making it look like it supports iphone 8 and below. But they don't support truedepth? That's why I am giving this 3 star, because it can easily be a replicate or be replicated. Not creative, but does the job.

**Developer response:** Views 3 and 4 are TrueDepth camera images. The fact that these images remain clearly visible in complete darkness is strong evidence that they are captured from TrueDepth camera data rather than a conventional camera. This app is designed to run on devices equipped with a TrueDepth sensor, including the iPhone X and later models.
