### 4/5 — Excellent motivation

*2026-05-23, version 22.0.1*

I have AFIB. This app provides great feedback on your improvement metrics. Only complaint is it can mess up your Bluetooth connections.

### 2/5 — Misleading

*2026-05-17, version 22.0.1*

The app makes it look like if you pay for premium they will show advanced metrics like VO2 max. But that doesn’t seem to be the case. Maybe it unlocks on your next session after paying. Very disappointed. Also no way to change alerts after activity starts. No warning for wearing the sensor upside down. For the price the need to do better.

### 2/5 — Poor timing on forced upgrades

*2026-04-23, version 22.0.0*

Forced upgrades during workouts is no bueno.

### 5/5 — Amazing device

*2025-10-14, version 20.0.1*

As a physician, this is one of the pivotal breakthroughs I’ve ever seen in wearable devices! Got one myself and I’m using it!

### 5/5 — Great addition to my health monitoring

*2025-10-10, version 20.0.1*

It took some doing to connect to my Garmin cycling computer and to figure out start and stop interface but all good once I did.

### 5/5 — Great HR Monitor

*2025-09-07, version 19.9.1*

Love having the full EKG monitoring during workouts and for just monitoring HR anytime you want. Great stable product.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2025-07-24, version 19.9.1*

Fascinating concept with excellent execution. I’m a doc who is used to reading EKG. Einthoven would be proud! Great product!

### 5/5 — Incredibly Powerful

*2025-05-24*

My main passion that I study a lot is cardiology, however I am not a doctor. I have had issues with palpitations in the past and trying to be seen by a condescending cardiologist where I am is insanely difficult. My Frontier X2 has unlocked a door that is mind blowing to me. Being able to monitor my heart on my OWN has been life changing. Of course (thanks to this app) pulling up a live ECG is very impressive to everyone I’ve shown, it is very accurate and useful. I initiated events to record entire workdays and entire nights and the data quality is stellar upon review. I love how quickly it can process 10 hours of data and prepare itself for another session, it’s very efficient. I love the metrics that are calculated for you as well! It’s been very liberating and helped me to reduce my anxiety seeing my heart performing well through all I put it through despite the occasional PVC- which is not concerning to me at this point. This app has allowed me to clearly link it with anxiety. I like being able to mark when I’m stressed or doing different things. The app also works well and hasn’t given me any major issues. The only minor one is needing to be closed and re opened after ending and finishing processing a long activity. If not, the live ECG will not load. This isn’t a complaint though, it’s easy enough to deal with.

### 5/5 — Best Heart Rate Monitor

*2025-05-11, version 19.9*

Had my doubts on the Frontier X but after a week of wearing it and using the device best decision ever made and worth the money I highly recommended to anyone who wants to up their endurance and need to see how far they can push there body.

### 5/5 — Frontier X after 1 year

*2025-05-11, version 19.9*

Very appropriate of the effort taken into designing this chest strap. At male age 71 very cognizant of my mortality I’m really happy with the metrics the app & strap provides. Thank you to all Frontier X employees!!

### 4/5 — Product is working adequately

*2025-04-23*

I have a few issues using the X2 with a Garmin 1030 Plus, so I’m running it directly with the Frontier App and things are working much better. I’m using the Garmin strap with the 1030 plus. The real issues when using the Frontier with the Garmin is that Breathing counts aren’t transferred even thought he Frontier X2 can figure that out since it passes it to the Frontier App on the Iphone.

### 5/5 — The good stuff

*2025-03-30, version 19.9*

👍👍👍

### 5/5 — Mobile ecg

*2025-03-06*

I’m not a big fan of wearables but this chest strap is really comfy wearing at night where I’m cycling and the ability to pull off many hours of really accurate ECG data is crazy. Unlike a smart watch, you can be active and moving and get your ECG.

### 5/5 — Fantastic device!

*2025-01-23*

I use Fourth Frontier to monitor my AFIB and my exercise. It is accurate, easy to use, and gives tons of useful information. The battery lasts at least 24 hours and charges fast. The App is easy to use and tracks several important metrics. My cardiologist has found the ECG to be very helpful. I now know when I am working out too hard. I love this device and app!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Frontier Zone

*2026-06-16, version 22.0.2*

Rubbish
The device connects end of story it flashes the colours but the app having connected does nothing more no help from the company a waste of a lot of money

### 1/5 — Not a valuable product

*2026-04-17, version 21.1.1*

Not at all reliable. I am in heart failure, and -need- data to help isolate my issues. Three times now, the app has insisted that I upgrade in the middle of my workout. Once, I had to have them recover my workout, as the upgrade trashed it. This is the third time in a month they have interrupted my workout to give me an “upgrade”.
It’s a great toy, but has limited real benefit.

### 1/5 — OMG

*2026-04-10, version 21.1.0*

Subpar upgrade on the interface software. Reoccurring Bluetooth connection issues. Most of the time tells you have arrhythmia, which I have been ignoring for several years. No options for interval training. Now trying to make money on subscriptions with AI that is not worth much. They need to up their game.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-03-15, version 21.0.0*

Was working fine. Now when I go start activity nothing happens.

### 1/5 — Worse and worse as time goes by

*2025-12-06, version 20.1.0*

I hate running now because of how fickle, buggy and plain incomptent UX this app is enjoying.

I wonder if the bosses of this company were forced to use it instead of paying for third world positive reviews, how that would reflect on the overall experience

### 1/5 — ECG doesn’t work

*2025-08-19, version 19.9.1*

ECG stopped working , it sync data but it shows no data available

### 1/5 — Paywalled functionality

*2024-10-17*

As a bleeding edge HRM there is an opportunity expectation that you are buying in to an ecosystem of continuous improvement.
The high outlay cost is made with the understanding that innovation will take place and as effective beta users, you get access and enjoy new features.
Unfortunately this isn’t the case. Despite a sub par application performance will minimal features and poor usability, they have went directly into a pay per view mode and introduced some features that might be interesting, are already provided by other HRM products but are asking for a “premium” subscription where those others don’t.
If you want a continuous ECG capability, this does that. For everything else, get one a third of the price with all the other things for free.

### 1/5 — Support is brain dead

*2024-07-02, version 18.7*

I had an issue with sharing an activity. I reported “unable to share indoor cycle activity because app had no GPS data for it”. Support replied “you need to have your watch or phone near the device to get GPS data”. The issue was NOT that I didn’t have GPS data but that the app wouldn’t share an activity that didn’t have GPS data. This device is not cheap so the value of support got the 1 star.

### 1/5 — Bad app & terrible device

*2024-01-28, version 18.2*

The app will not live stream ECG like they advertise. I am now on my second unit that does not work. For the price this product is terrible.

### 1/5 — Support is brain dead

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — My favorite health tech

*2026-08-19*

I am recovering from a heart attack, I love being able to share my stats from workouts with my Doctors. I’m able to chart my progress, it keeps me from over doing it yet push myself to get stronger. Watches are great for simple stuff but I feel the X2 is a huge level up. It’s well worth the money.
