Sometimes gives you trouble if you navigate outside of the app and it wants to disconnect and make you start a new session. Overall it works though and gives you your stats, and is accessible via the cloud on their website, which was the feature that convinced me to buy the Mevo. ### 2/5 — Poor App for $500 Device *2021-08-16, version 1.7.9* Pretty disappointed with the app. Seriously needs to be updated. The Mevo+ is needed for the better app with the shot tracer it seems. Lateral information is not provided either (distance left/right or target line). It worked for 2 sessions and since then, I have not been able to get it to connect, even though when I click on connect, a screen pops up saying I’m connected to the Mevo. It looks at least 5 years old doesn’t even have axis text size resizing on graph zoom. Seriously? Get is sorted FS. The app works but makes me want to sell this and keep my rapsodo MLM Rapsodo app is night and day better than this. ### 2/5 — Could be great *2021-04-17, version 1.7.6* The app keeps crashing during my session and the carry distance seems to be off. I’m using indoor with all proper distance and lighting and it still doesn’t read shots often and they seem short. So then we will be able to help you with your connection. ⛳👍 ### 2/5 — App is really outdated, needs capability to customize clubs *2021-04-15, version 1.7.6* The app has worked fine for me and the MEVO itself is a great product, but this review is about the app. 1) The app is really outdated; it looks like it was made 10 years ago. If I purchase a $500 product, it should have a premium app interface that clearly receives frequent software support and updates, even if it’s the “low-end” of the product line. This app is long overdue for a more modern look and more efficient usability. 2) It would be nice to customize club lofts. Not everyone hits the same lofted driver or even PW. 3) If there are 8 possible data points to display on-screen, I should have the option to display any number of those, not a maximum of 6. I do enjoy using this launch monitor. For the money, the capability of the monitor has been great, but the software is subpar and I wish it would get more attention. **Developer response:** Hi Nick, thanks for your feedback and review. Crashing randomly . Tried reinstalling app and no luck. Was thinking of getting Mevo plus but if their software support is non existent then maybe not. ### 1/5 — Not even close to accurate *2021-02-02, version 1.7.1* My mevo is very inaccurate already 2 clubs off. Reached out to customer service and they always come back with the same fixes with no resolution. Got it for Christmas and asked for a refund in January they told me I was past my return date. Poor app support for MEVO since last year. No major update. Not even basic update to scale the app to larger iPhone screen size. ### 1/5 — App consistent crashes after latest update *2021-01-06, version 1.7.0* This worked flawlessly for me for a year. Ever since the latest update the app crashes within 30 seconds to 1 minute of viewing any data. Especially annoying when it crashes during the middle of a session and misses shots. Thank you for considering our help on this. ### 3/5 — Tolerable software; Great Hardware *2020-08-27, version 1.6.16* Love the Mevo. I’ve used it for countless practice sessions over the last year. In my opinion, the app could desperately use the following improvements: 1) Text to Speech Improvements - My only real issue is that the text to speech is overly wordy, and an entire sentence spoken every time I hit the ball bothers everyone on the range. I understand that I can turn this off, but the better solution would be to have “quiet mode” that only speaks a number. For example, instead of “Carry is two hundred thirty seven point three yards”; just “two hundred thirty seven”, or better yet, “Thirty-Seven”. 2) Fine Scrubbing - It is nearly impossible to scroll to the moment of impact on a slo-mo recording. 3) Compare Swing Video - I currently have to find my swings in my photo library, export them, and import them to a 3rd party app. 4) Tag/Comment on Swings - Would like to be able to easily find good/bad swings, and remember what I was trying to work on during the session. 5) Data Box Size - It would be better if I would increase or decrease the overall size of the combined boxes in relation to the camera zoom and or the number of data fields selected. 6) Swing Data Comparison - Ideally, I would be able to easily compare the numbers on a given club over time. Say I’m working on achieving a lower launch on my 6i, I would like to be able to quickly filter all 6i shots and see the average per session. 7) Swing anomaly Identification - If I hit 50 6 irons, it would be nice if the app could ask identify swings outside of a given standard deviation for certain characteristics, and automatically eliminate mishits from the data set. ### 1/5 — Non-functional device and horrible customer service *2020-05-20, version 1.6.10* Purchased a mevo and it never worked properly. Consistently reported distances on average 2 club lengths off, missed shots etc. worked with support for 2 weeks, and still the unit did not work properly. Asked to return device and company made me pay shipping and a restocking fee despite their garbage product! Tried to reach customer service repeatedly for an explanation but i was constantly ignored. I do not want to scroll through an endless set of screens telling me to upgrade to MEVO+ before I can use the MEVO which was not cheap. I do not want a MEVO+. If you intend to make it impossible to use my MEVO with endless advertising please arrange to refund me in full. ### 1/5 — Updates have made this app unusable *2023-04-21* Everytime I use this app now it repeatedly prompts me to download the new FS Golf app over and over. You have to click through THREE!! Next buttons to dismiss their advertising and then it comes right back anytime you interact with app. If you download the FS Golf App it is not compatible with the Mevo… only the Mevo+!!! And the other higher end devices. The original Mevo does what I need it to do, but Flightscope is trying to force a $2k upgrade onto existing customers. I am completely disappointed that a product I have relied upon is now essentially unusable because of the latest app updates ### 1/5 — Unusable *2023-01-29, version 1.8.4* Purposely made this app unusable so that people would have to transition to the new “improved” app which of course requires registration with their “cloud.” No, I don’t want a reminder to download your new app every time I open the app I’ve been using without issues. Fishy that new bugs would also come to this app at the same time as they introduced this new app. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t connect any longer *2023-01-22, version 1.8.4* A year ago the app worked great albeit outdated looking. Now everytime and method I use to connect the Mevo + to the app, it freezes, unexpectedly closes the app, and when I reopen the app the device has not connected. I’ve attempted to connect dozens of times with various trouble shooting methods, deleted and reloaded the app without success. For a $2k product, words cannot describe the frustration of dealing with a company and app that doesn’t make any effort to improve. ### 1/5 — Deleted app and it still can’t be fixed by new download *2022-12-01, version 1.8.4* Says it will delete data but insists I already have an account then asks for a nickname but all are taken. I did not expect this interface for 500$. Also no ball dispersion. Please update the app ASAP. Have had consistent performance at indoor and outdoor ranges. Tracking works as expected. Overall very satisfied. Could really use a UI refresh. Would like to be able to manage sessions i.e. delete, merge, edit. Would like to exclude shots from session averages without deleting. During capture would like to have the data blocks maximized/ fonts bigger so i can see it more easily on smaller phones. Ability to pause/restart a session. Amazing device for a reasonable price. It provides the key metrics that you need, but of course it doesn’t have every metric that the $10k to $15 launch monitors have. It’s accurate when set up correctly. I’ve only used it outdoors on a driving range so I can’t speak to how it performs indoors or when playing a round of golf. Unlike some competitors, the accuracy and performance are not negatively impacted by bright sunlight or lack of good lighting because it uses radar not high speed photos. The app is functional. They need to add the ability to continue a session that’s been just closed. I really like that you only have to place the t four feet behind the ball. ### 4/5 — Great device, when you know how to set it up ... *2017-05-19, version 1.0.8* The Mevo is a great device. The app and description of how to set it up needs work. No problem with the outdoor settings. Measurements of the carry distance are very accurate. If you like to use the Mevo outdoors with a net you need to put the Mevo in indoor setting, an 8 feet distance from the net to ball as recommended by Flightscope and 4 feet from ball to Mevo will not work. The app will not record the shot and eventually crash. Different story if you increase the distance to 10 feet net to ball. Shots are recorded as they should. In summary: Needs some work but really promising. ### 3/5 — Can’t set profile pic *2021-05-14, version 1.7.6* I’m running iOS 14.4.2 on an iPhone 11 Pro Max. The setup screen was pretty lousy. Took awhile to figure get to the New Account login screen - not very user friendly. Once registered, I couldn’t find where to add a profile pic.
