## What is FS Music Player?

Offline music player, compatible with Family Setup watches. Battle-tested hundreds of hours by my kids! They wanted a way to play their favorite songs they own on their Apple Watch, but the built-in music player only allows Apple Music streaming. This app can load music you own, initially downloaded via https and play through Bluetooth audio in the background. This also lets the parent more closely control the music that their child listens to.

Also includes a PIN-lock feature to prevent children from accidentally deleting music from their watch.

As a high-school student without a phone, this app has been incredibly useful for me. I don’t want to pay for a subscription so having a way to play music offline from my watch is really handy. 

I do wish it were still free, though.

I actually know how to code, so I was wondering if you would ever consider open-sourcing the project on GitHub? I’d love to contribute, fix some of the UI issues I’ve noticed.

**Developer response:** Hey! Glad you love it - no built in offline player in the Family Setup watches was one of the biggest disappointments as an early adopter of the Family Setup mode.

I've open sourced other apps, but didn't see any uptake so I stopped doing it. I might reconsider in the future. If you let me know what bugs you've found, I can get them fixed - e-mail me at info@spaddlewit.com . If you're talking about the UI music change display, the Apple Watch actually does not support using Observers on the audio player to detect track changes - I tried!

Awesome app for an Apple Watch that isn’t paired to a phone but there should be an app for iPhone which would be pretty useful.

ive tried downloading from 3 different links. it says download started and then i go to songs and it says no offline music loaded on watch.

**Developer response:** You need to keep the app live and in the foreground during download. If you minimize the app or let the watch go to sleep, it will cancel. Depending on your Wi-Fi/cellular speed and size of the ZIP file, it could take a few minutes.
