Use on a Daily Basis for Hobbyist Machining on a Tormach *2015-03-16, version 1.40* This is a great app I use on almost a daily basis as a hobbyist machinist. Great apps are updated often to fix issues and have a free version to test out before purchasing the full version. This app has both and has exceeded my expectations. As a new hobbyist machinist, I do not have years of experience to draw upon or immediate access to experienced machinist for feeds and speeds. This app takes the guesswork out and allows me to immediate pick feeds and speeds that will, in general work on the first try, for my Tormach CNC mill. Savings up a bit before I buy the full version, the trial is enough to get me started, although I hope to upgrade soon. I have been using the fswizard website for a while now and this is great for being away from the computer. The only thing that let's it down is not having the full materials list like on the web and also I personally would like to be able to change the settings to be metric as standard. So it doesn't give me a lot of confidence in the numbers. ### 4/5 — So far, so good. *2021-07-12, version 1.9.0* I have just started to “thumb” through this app., and what I have looked at in detail, gives me confidence in your organization, and it’s people. This is layer out in an orderly fashion. After a bit more use, an upgrade to the pro level will be likely. Thank you all, again. ### 4/5 — Almost great *2020-05-24, version 1.7.9* A new feature is center drill depth very nice but .......... center drills come in both 90 and 60 degree included angles. With no reference on the drawing we do not know with which we are dealing. Maybe you can add the nomenclature or note in a upcoming revision. And hint, hint have the feature to compute either in a further revision. Also you might reference the point length and angle. As you know by your advertised ‘tonns’ of experience - it is the little things in machining that are the biggest help! As a hobby machinist I use the feeds and speeds mostly but the reference section is also really useful. Suggestions. Please add BA specs to the threads. Definitely an amazing starting place for feeds and speeds. I like it cause I’m always dealing with random materials, and the library is quite large. I don’t use anything besides the feeds and speeds, and of all the similar apps I’ve tried, this stands out as getting the feeds right the first time. Switched to IOS and was having an issue getting the pro version downloaded, shot support an email, and within a day I was taken care of. Highly recommended! ### 5/5 — This and HSMAdvisor are great *2021-01-26, version 1.8.1* I bought the HSMAdvisor program (it’s their full desktop program) and they give you the Pro version of this app for free. They both work great. The desktop program is the best I’ve tried for feeds and speeds and having the Pro version of FSWizard for nice for quick reference.
