Free on Android but costs on iPhone. That doesn’t make sense. Lange Zeit waren die Kosten (Service, TÜV, Versicherung, Waschen, etc.) ein Android Only Feature, sodass unter IOS nur die Tankerfassung möglich war. Dies ist nun behoben. Ich würde mir jedoch noch eine Funktion wünschen, dass man die Daten eines Fahrzeugs optional geteilt nutzen kann. Originally started on Android and been on iOS for 4 years. The extra features made it the best, but now they’re locked behind the pro version. The UI isn’t that great, but I lived with it. I’m switching to another app after many years because of these issues. ### 2/5 — Lacks Features *2026-01-26* Used Fuelio Pro for a couple years on Android. Switched to iOS recently and this app is very disappointing. Doesn’t even have a trip log for tracking my business trips. Will have to export all data and switch to a new app. ### 4/5 — Good App, Disappointed about new changes *2026-01-26* Update: The new "Costs" tab is misleading, you can still access overall costs and graphs by going "Home" then clicking "Stats". This was probably the best fuel cost tracking app, however they recently put features that were free (costs graphs and stats like total mileage and fuel costs) behind a subscription paywall. Really disappointed by this change. **Developer response:** Hi. Thanks for you review. Just to be clear. You have all features you got in the past with new version. Nothing was locked. We added pro version with pro features - but none of them were available before. Thanks to this we get the app to live. The second choice was to remove it (it wasn't updated by 3 years). Don’t get me wrong, I really appreciate the devs (I’m a dev myself) and I’m happy to pay but I HATE subscriptions. Please offer a lifetime purchase option, maybe 2/3 cost of a years sub (and stick to being truly lifetime) and I’ll buy. Until that’s offered I’m going to have to investigate alternatives. **Developer response:** Hi. What features are locked behind? New ones. If you are dev you know that keeping the product alive is not that simple. There was no updates for years in the app. I didn't took any features from you - fuel log is still free, same for fuel stations. We added new features. With sub - we got only part of this price - you know how it works here. That was the only way to keep app alive. We added some new features, we are updating the app. Also you know we don't collect data and we don't show ads. So how to keep this kind of project alive then? I don't think today there is a choice. But like I said. all features you got in the past here - are still free. Only the new cost module is paid. /Adrian ### 1/5 — War mal besser *2025-12-22* Ich nutze Fuelio seit Jahren und habe sämtliche Daten stets sorgfältig und vollständig gepflegt. Inzwischen ist das Wartungskostentracking jedoch hinter einem Abo versteckt – für mich ein klares Nein. Eine Funktion, die früher selbstverständlich war, nachträglich zu monetarisieren, ist einfach enttäuschend. Zusätzlich ist die Berechnung des Durchschnittsverbrauchs unzuverlässig. Setzt man den Haken bei „vorheriges Volltanken verpasst“, dürfte logischerweise kein Durchschnittsverbrauch berechnet werden, da die nötige Datengrundlage fehlt. Trotzdem zeigt die App munter einen Verbrauch von 2,5 l an – unrealistisch und schlicht falsch. Schade, denn Fuelio war einmal deutlich besser. **Developer response:** Hi. Sorry to hear that but also, please be fair here. Did you use cost log here? No. iOS never got this feature so you coudn't track it here. This is new feature so nothing was closed behind paywall. App was dead for almost 3 years and as you know - we don't store user's data or we are not showing ads so the only way to keep it alive is to make it paid. But I didn't took any features from you. That's not true you are saying. iOS was never this feature. Regarding missed previous fillup - that true. It shoudn't show you consumption so it's a bug. But if you check last updates you'll see there's almost daily update for the app. If I will be able to reproduce it - I'll fix it ASAP. I checked just a missed fillup on our test vehicle - it's not showing consumption. But for this feature - first fillup should never got this flag checked. That could be the case. But we didn’t took any features from the old app. Fuel Log is still free, we updated and added even more features. So fuel log is still free as it was. As you know app wasn’t updated for many years. So new features and some paid features is the only way to keep the project. It has been free to use including all the charts/stats etc. Just went to fill up today and discovered the 2.0 app update has locked lots of features such as seeing fuelling history charts and costs etc. behind a paywall. What a complete joke. The app is basically useless now. What’s the point in logging every fuel trip if you can’t see the stats behind it. I have been a longtime user but this is wheee we part ways. **Developer response:** Hi. But that's not true. Nothing was put behind paywal that was in the app before. We added new features to keep project alive but everything related to fuel log is still free. Fuelling history, charts - it's free. You have even more stats that you have before. For free. Cost Log - it was never in the app. It's added with reminders as paid feature. New features are paid and it was the only way to move the project forward. You know that it wasn’t updated for years. But you wrote it as we took something you got. We didn’t. It's decided to go this way to keep project alive. /Adrian ### 1/5 — Fuel consumption not calculated *2025-11-13* Fuel consumption is not getting calculated even after 4-5 entries. ### 1/5 — Feature failure *2025-10-09, version 1.3.2* I used this app for over 10 years and it was a 5 out of 5, all day, every day. About 6 months ago I switched to an Apple phone and the app appears to have severely degraded features compared to Android. I was using an Android phone for those 19 years and I see now Google is involved in the back end of the app. Coincidence with app feature degradation on Apple? Unknown, but I am now searching for an alternative. If you only want to track fuel costs, this app will work perfectly for you. If you want to track total vehicle costs, this app on iOS falls depressingly short. Das funktioniert auch recht zuverlässig, wird aber leider immer unübersichtlicher durch den zunehmenden Funktionsumfang. Die Sache mit dem Abo Modell finde ich nicht so störend, der Preis ist angemessen und die Programmierer müssen ja auch leben. Was mich allerdings am meisten stört, dass die benzinpreisanzeige, scheinbar nicht wirklich. Da werden tagelang Tankstellen nicht aktualisiert und die Preise sind von „gestern“… wenn das funktionieren würde, würde dich vielleicht ganz auf diese App umsteigen, aber so lieber parallel dazu eine Zuverlässigkeit App für die Tankpreise. ### 5/5 — Highly recommended!! *2026-01-23* I started using it for a week and I am quite impressed with minimalist designs of the app and it does provide the data that would help me get insights about fuel consumption and associated cost. Been waiting a long time for the update. I don't mind a subscription at a realistic level. Even developers have to eat! **Developer response:** Hi. Thank you very much for understanding. As you know, iOS app was in a bad shape, wasn't updated for a long time. We didn't get funds and the only thing was to push some monetization. As you know - we don't show ads (which I personally don't like) or we don't store your data. So the only way was to add some model. Of course I know not everyone is happy today about it but I'm happy I did this and project is alive for iOS and will be updated.
