I even drew a copy of the "Born To Kill" helmet artwork in high school art class. Matthew Modine's images in this app are brilliant in B&W. When I heard about this on Kickstarter, I loved the idea and am thankful Mr. Modine captured these rare images of the production - it's imagery only a lead actor like Modine could capture - keep in mind, Kubrick was elusive and didn't like to be photographed. Later, when I got to see the Stanley Kubrick exhibit at LACMA, with some of Modine's images in large scale print, it all came full circle of my appreciation of Kubrick's mastery on this production. ### 5/5 — Outstanding *2013-08-12, version 1.17* Im a visual production student and this app was not only interesting it was a learning opportunity. This is art, history, depth and fascination all blended into the perfect offering to any Full Metal Jacket and or Stanley Kubrick aficionado. Private Joker himself shares his most intimate recollections about the filming of the picture as well as a plethora of personal photos during that time. Matthew Modine is of course really the author but you can see it through the eyes of the Joker he created. I would have dropped $30 on this, it's that good. Great use of audio and visual to recount the production of one of the greatest war movies of all time. If you have an AppleTV, this one works incredibly well, too, with the mirroring function. It's basically one of the best, personal documentaries about the making of a classic film. Seen on an HD TV and using your iPad as a remote, this app provides hours and hours of insight on Full Metal Jacket with the best narrator possible.
