## What is Fun Fear?

Welcome to Fun Fear — a fairground where every ride is a one-way ticket to monster town...

Fun Fear is a game of memory and money. Up to four of you round an iPad, one or two on a phone, or just you against the computer. Walk your counter around the edge of the board past crooked booths like the Ghost Train, the Helter-Skeleton, the Coffin Dodgems and the Miss-Fortune Teller. Pay to flip a booth card. If it matches the space you're standing on, you own it. If not, it goes back face down — so pay attention.

Once you own a booth, anyone who lands on it pays you. But booths are worthless when the fair closes. The player with the most money at the end wins.

On the board

• Games of chance where you bet against the next player
• A raffle pot that grows every time somebody pays for a try, and pays out whole to whoever lands on it
• One Just Looking square — the only secret in the game
• Exchange, Miss a Turn and Put a Booth Back squares
• Closed for the Night cards that can leave you stuck with a worthless booth

Play together or alone (if you dare)

• Up to four round an iPad, flat on the table like a real board. Two on a phone, passed between you.
• Solo play against the computer at four levels — Easy, Medium, Hard and Monster — which differ in only one thing: how many cards it can remember (from three to nine)
• It only remembers cards everyone has seen turned. It never looks at a face-down card, and it never cheats.

No ads, no in-app purchases, no accounts, no tracking, and no internet needed to play.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1.0 — 2026-10-23

Fun Fear is on the iPhone now.

The board runs as a strip along the top, the cards lie on the table underneath it, and the throw sits under your thumb. One or two players on a phone, because nobody passes a phone round a table. The iPad still seats up to four.

Also fixed: the DONE button on the rules, settings and booths sheets was dark red on a dark red panel and nearly impossible to see. The ending screen now keeps its words inside the scroll.

### 1.0.0 — 2026-10-21

No release notes.
