A photo of a cat. Under it, the English: cat. And the Spanish: gato (m), gata (f). Tap, and hear it said aloud in clear Spanish. Tap again if it didn't stick. Next card. That's the whole app, and it's why it works: a word arrives attached to a picture, and the picture does the remembering for you. 1,000 Spanish words, 50 categories, no ads, no account, no internet needed. BOTH GENDERS, ON THE CARD Spanish nouns have a gender, and it's the first thing beginners get wrong. Wherever a word has a feminine form, the card shows both, marked (m) and (f) — so gata arrives alongside gato from day one, instead of being unlearned later.
