A photo of a cat. Under it, the English: cat. And the Spanish: gato (m), gata (f). Tap, and hear it said aloud in clear Spanish. Tap again if it didn't stick. Next card. Free to try. BOTH GENDERS, ON THE CARD Spanish nouns have a gender, and it's the first thing beginners get wrong. Wherever a word has a feminine form, the card shows both, marked (m) and (f) — so gata arrives alongside gato from day one, instead of being unlearned later.
