I would also love if they allowed custom music selection. There’s a lot I like, but these two things leave me wanting a different app for those features. ### 3/5 — No sound although I paid for it! *2019-10-13* I need the sound! ### 2/5 — Can’t family share in app purchases but no way to purchase full app?!? *2019-08-13* I purchased this on our family’s old iPad to use to help the kids get ready in a timely manner for school in the mornings. The kids loved it, so I went ahead and upgraded to all the music and pics, so I could choose pics of my kids from the camera roll. Later I decided to add the app to my iPhone, and was able to download from the purchased apps section. The FULL app works on my phone. I recently decided to add it to my new iPad as the old ipad is getting a little sketchy. I was disappointed to find though that when I downloaded the app from “my purchases” it is only the lite version that works, with 1 song and 2 generic pictures. I don’t know why it worked when I downloaded it to my iPhone but not my new ipad. I also think it’s ridiculous that you can’t share in app purchases, but there isn’t a way I have found to purchase the entire app from the App Store. The full version of this app I would give 4 stars, the songs are a little cheesey, but fortunately can be muted. The toddler enjoys the animal pictures, and the big kids like pictures of themselves. It definitely helps them visualize how much time we have in the morning and how quickly they need to finish: eating, brush teeth, put on shoes, etc... But since the app sharing is so crummy I’m just giving it 2 stars. ### 3/5 — Great Visual Timer *2019-03-05, version 1.34* I work with kids on the spectrum and they love this timer. 3 stars because it crashes when I try to open the camera and wish there was more music selection. Hopefully an upgrade in the works. ### 2/5 — Half-way works... *2018-08-13* Purchased the animals and music/sound so music would sound when the timer is up along with revealing the different animal picture options. The animal pics all work, but the music doesn’t at all. Frustrating. It still semi-works to help my almost-3yr old complete a task, etc....but it would be worlds better if there was sound to go with the end of the timer to help her know for sure the time was up. ### 4/5 — Good app, one issue. *2018-02-21, version 1.33* Great app, simple and easy to use. Only issue is, when you click on ‘remove ads’ or ‘buy animals and music’ nothing happens! The pics were cute so I decided to go ahead and pay to remove them and now it's great. I would love to see some themes in pics and music-like lullabies and a sleepy animal. I need it mostly to keep daughter on bedtime routine so relaxing picture and music would be great! ### 1/5 — Not too thought out *2017-02-03* This app runs ads when you start the timer. But it also runs the timer. That ruins the concept of the timer. I wish they would have the timer wait to start until after the ad is over. We downloaded it for our daughter to motivate her and reduce her anxiety while giving her boundaries in completing tasks. However, I have no idea why the need to put pop up Ads once you start the timer. There are already ads at the bottom of the screen. You don't have to make the ads so invasive and push the ads down our our throats! It's ridiculous especially for a children's app. I want my money back and I'll find a visual timer that's actually dedicated helping kids and not with an ulterior motive and just trying to make money from advertisers that solely want to sell crap using a kid app. Shame on you! ### 4/5 — Simple and effective *2016-04-29, version 1.31* Very good timer. Simple to use. Music and pictures are appropriate and cute, but they are not too entertaining that it becomes a distraction. The visual helps kids to better manage time during meals, getting ready for school, etc. One thing I don't like is: The clock always starts with a full face, whether you set it for 1 hour or 30 minutes or 15 minutes, etc. The developers should change the app, or at least offer the option, to have the timer resemble increments on a normal clock. Meaning, if 1 hour is set, the clock should start with a full face; if 30 minutes is set, the clock should start with half the face; if 15 minutes is set, the clock should start with only a quarter of the face remaining to be revealed. Starting with a full face, no matter how long or short the timer is set for, won't fully help kids understand how much time they actually have. For instance, I give my kids 1 hour to eat dinner, but I only give them 20 minutes to eat breakfast. If the clock always starts with a full face for every meal, then how will they know there is actually a difference in the amount of time they have to finish different meals? In order to mitigate this issue, I always set the timer for 1 hour. Then I "forward" the clock until it displays the amount of time I actually want to have. This way, the kids understand that they have more time when it is a full face, compared to the amount of time they have when it is less than a full face. And doing it this way makes the timer resemble increments on a normal clock. The kids can start to learn what 45 minutes feels like when the timer begins at what is equivalent to the number 3 on a normal clock vs what 10 minutes feels like when the timer begins at what is the equivalent to the number 10 on a normal clock. ### 1/5 — Video ads? Really? *2016-04-02* It really defeats the purpose of having a 10 second timer when a 30 second ad immediately starts as soon as you hit go. And mine froze as soon as I hit skip ad. Had to manually force it to quit. This happened five times before I just deleted the app. Stupid. ### 1/5 — Music not working *2016-02-26, version 1.31* I paid for the music & it's not working. I can individualize it for a particular student's needs. I can change the picture based on their interests or even select an image from my own photos! I can select the song it plays too. It can be very calming. I've recommended this timer to many of my colleagues. The only thing I would like to see added is additional minute selections of 2,3, and 4 minutes. Maybe future updates could also include additional soothing songs or the ability to choose from my own playlist.
