### 4/5 — Decent UX with exceptions

*2026-08-14, version 1.38*

You guys need to add push notification alerts as new markers come in. This is a no brainer. Second, when clicking into a marker than navigating back, the scroll state of the list resets to the top. Suggest preserving your last scroll position from the scrollable list view. Suggest adding placeholders among the data list for markers that were ordered but not yet arrived (you can grey them out or something). Or have a separate list for what’s to come, vs me having to go into Visit 1 or 2 to see.

### 2/5 — Black screen

*2026-07-17, version 1.34.0*

For the last few weeks, this app has been buggy. Please fix. Used to work well without issue so maybe revert back to previous version.

### 3/5 — Not Working...Revised

*2026-07-16, version 1.34.0*

This app was great until it quit working. I open it up and it quickly just turns into a black screen that I can't do anything with.

Edit: Adjusting my rating. Customer service has been on top of it. Hopeful it will start working now.

### 5/5 — Love data. But glitchy app

*2026-07-12, version 1.33.0*

I love the access to data. The link
S to ways you can improve is super welcome, putting your health into your own hands. However, the app often does not load and shows a black screen.

### 5/5 — Thorough and Specific

*2026-07-11, version 1.33.0*

It reminds me what I am doing well, encourages my lifestyle changes, and suggests more specific tweaks for optimal health. It also appreciates my research deep dives!

### 2/5 — Over promise, under deliver

*2026-07-10, version 1.33.0*

No meaningful healthcare interoperability. They structurally dissuade sharing information with your primary care provider.

### 3/5 — Black screen

*2026-07-07, version 1.32.0*

I love this app but lately I can’t get anything to load. I have to delete and redownload the app for it to work - or it’ll just show a black screen. I have the latest iOS and everything!!!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2026-07-04, version 1.32.0*

I bought it and canceled it immediately. Then I bought it and keep it. I'm glad that I did it again. I'm happy with the customer service and the easy way to access to my results.

### 5/5 — Offers hope

*2026-07-04, version 1.32.0*

This app has offered me real answers traditional doctors were not willing to test for.

### 1/5 — Not usable is you don’t have a regular period

*2026-07-03, version 1.32.0*

You’re supposed to get lab work done on day 1-4 of your period. Well unfortunately you have to schedule with the very limited labs they work with and no appointments are available. To access the “concierge” team you have to wait 2 business days. Don’t use unless you have a regular period and they have a lot of labs they partner with near you.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor Customer Service

*2026-09-06, version 1.41.1*

Used it for one year. Then I was auto charged for year two. I canceled and ask for a refund as soon as I saw the charge. However since it was three weeks after the charge they only refunded 67%. I explained that I never received the renewal notice and to please reconsider. They refused to give back any more money citing the costs to operate their website. They kept a third of my money for three weeks into the year. Will not be signing up again.

### 1/5 — Crashing

*2026-08-27, version 1.40.0*

Updated app, and now it just crashes to a black screen despite closing and opening 3 times
So it’s literally useless. Before this update it was awesome

### 1/5 — Its all AI no human Dr reviewing

*2026-08-25, version 1.39.0*

When you flag that the summary of your blood work doesnt make sense - there are no humans to address it - you get AI pretending to be human messaging you and telling you - you can book an appointment and when you tell them when you're free to talk - the AI can't handle it and cant respond. So your summary is wrong and there are no humans involved or they are really bad employees who should be fired.

### 1/5 — Not Built for Women!!

*2026-08-22, version 1.39.0*

Update: nearly two months later I still haven’t been able to get the cycle tests. Labs aren’t open on weekends and walk in only. Very difficult to drop everything to go wait at quest and hope to be seen. Customer service confirmed they prioritize people with appointments.

I really wanted to love Function Health because the concept is great, but my experience with has been disappointing.

If you have irregular menstrual cycles, it doesn’t seem like they have a clear process for handling it. I had to repeatedly explain my situation, and instead of addressing my actual questions, I kept receiving canned responses that didn’t apply. I was passed between multiple agents, and each one seemed to respond without reading the conversation history.

My questions were about how my lab orders had changed, but I repeatedly received generic explanations about hormone testing that had nothing to do with what I was asking. For a premium membership, I expected personalized support and continuity, not to start over with every new agent.

The testing itself may be valuable, but the customer experience needs significant improvement—especially for members with irregular cycles. This common situation was clearly an after thought. A clear SOP for these cases and better continuity between support agents would make a huge difference.

### 1/5 — Scheduling/calendar for women is GARBAGE

*2026-08-03, version 1.36.0*

The scheduling ability for menstruating women is awful. Some tests have to be scheduled within certain number of days of the beginning of the menstrual cycle but function will block it off, eg. my period starts on the 10th I have to schedule a test on day 2-4 of my cycle but functions scheduling calendar will not allow me to schedule until the 18th. That’s not how math works, 2-4 days after the 10th is the 12th-14th. Other tests have to be scheduled within 19-21 days of the last period but I can’t put that my period started on the 10th if it’s the 11th. To make things worse, you can’t call them you have to go back and forth with their chat agents and you spend hours trying to get tests scheduled. I spent an entire day trying to get scheduled but at a certain point the chat agent stopped responding I’m guessing it was the end of their day. Eventually I just “tricked” the calendar to schedule a test understanding the limitations but I don’t even know if I’m scheduled for the right tests which is concerning considering the cost of all the additional tests. At this point it’s not worth the money and after this year I’ll be going to my primary care doctor for tests. Their scheduling ability is GARBAGE!

### 1/5 — Rating pending.

*2026-07-30, version 1.36.0*

Just discovered I was billed a second year without my consent. Love the app and very helpful. Able to get my MD to order the labs now that I know more. No need for more Function. Have contacted billing dept and waiting for refund. Will be happy to update my review when I hear back.

### 1/5 — Keeps going black

*2026-07-15, version 1.34.0*

Not working at all

### 1/5 — Not Built for Women!!

### 1/5 — Terrible customer service

*2026-07-06, version 1.32.0*

Always a pain to deal with customer service. Resolve issues before actually resolved. Often don't appear to read the messages sent. App is buggy. Website not much better. Glorified tech facade over quest lab testing - not much else. No doubt some robo reply will tell me to email somewhere without looking up the issues - which about sums them up.

### 1/5 — App is great when it works

*2026-07-04, version 1.32.0*

The good news is: the app is great when it works. However, this is the second day I have been using it and I have already had some serious problems. Twice now the app starts loading and then goes to a completely black screen- I mean black like your phone has shutdown. I tried going to the website version and my data isn’t reflected there. I have been answering medical questions for two days now and I can’t see any of my data. This is a huge disappointment in the product and if somehow my data has been lost I will be demanding my money back because this is ridiculous. I’m tired of these poorly performing apps. And why it doesn’t sync with their website is beyond me. It’s a huge disappointment because I was telling my wife yesterday how well the app works. Unfortunately I spoke too soon. I gave it three stars as an average of 1 and 5 reflecting that it is great when it works and a useless product when it doesn’t.

This Function Health App is incredible! I do my labs, then I get a wealth of information AND the protocols for how to get and stay healthier! Meal Plans, Supplements and Foods to enjoy/avoid, exercise plans, whole body plans. And the ability to chat with an AI doctor. I am so pleased with my experience and I may gift this to my adult children! <3

### 5/5 — Year 2 & loving it!

*2026-08-26, version 1.40.0*

I just signed up for year 2 with Function Health and I love it! I have recommended it to so many of my friends as I find it incredibly helpful to track my overall health as I age. Our children also do it as it gives them such a clear picture of their health and they’re young enough to change bad habits. We will all be continuing to do this without a doubt! Best $365 we’ve ever spent!

### 5/5 — Professional Custom Guidance

*2026-08-23, version 1.39.0*

I am so thankful to find a program that analyzes your biomarkers helping you to understand any deficiencies and how to correct them using proper nutritional advice, a supplement protocol to said optimum nutrition and gentle exercises to further promote a healthier lifestyle. There is no longer any excuse for not having a better quality life as we age!

### 5/5 — Love being about to get this info

*2026-08-11, version 1.38*

You don’t have to beg your doctor for certain labs. Get performed what you think is necessary and the walk through and personalized feedback is invaluable. I think the price for this is an absolute steal.

### 5/5 — Not Working...Revised

*2026-08-07, version 1.37*

This app was great until it quit working. I open it up and it quickly just turns into a black screen that I can't do anything with.

Edit: Adjusting my rating. Customer service has been on top of it. Fantastic customer service!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-08-01, version 1.36.0*

The AI app provides instant Information and helpful protocols

### 5/5 — Improvement

*2026-07-16, version 1.34.0*

This app is slowly improving over the last year. I’ve been using. It would like prompts like once a day it asking you how stressed you are how well you slept things like that that could give ongoing trends without being intrusive love that it integrate with wearables looking forward to seeing how it pulls all this data together.
