Probably charges so slow becuase they want you to use another 30 minutes. Bad product. The app doesn’t show you which are full or not so you have to just hunt for one. Forced to download an app and give location permissions to use basic functionality. Slow. ### 1/5 — Rented for five hours. Paid $30. *2024-09-17, version 7.2.0* I could have just bought an external battery for this price. What a rip-off! Do not recommend using this service. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2024-06-02, version 7.0.4* Tried to use chargefuze at a Philadelphia Phillies game. The charger would charge for 5 seconds or leas ans then shut off. I repeatedly had to restart. Phone never charged. Device was worthless ### 1/5 — This will not last *2024-04-06, version 7.0.3* I am currently fuze charging for my first time. I have been plugged in for 11 minutes according to the app and gained 2% on my iPhone. At that rate in one hour I’ll gain under 12%. That 1 hour cost $5. The charger itself says 5v 2amp. There’s no way. I can’t imagine anyone using one of these twice. I guess that’s why they’re only in Bars. You’d need to be wasted to be a repeat customer. ### 3/5 — Works great but only if you plan ahead *2024-03-31, version 7.0.2* The chargers work quickly and the app is relatively easy to use. But there is no way to get a charger if your phone is currently completely dead. I was in line behind two other people with the same issue. You have to have a working phone to scan the QR code and get a charger. There is no way to use a credit card on the machine itself or even plug in to the machine itself to get enough charge to get things going. Definitely poorly thought out. Workaround but not a full solution: borrow someone else’s phone to enter payment info and scan the QR code. Of course, this only works if you are near someone who is willing to lend you your phone and you trust them enough to enter your credit card on it. At that point, you might as well just ask around until you find someone to lend a charger. They really should add credit card readers directly on the machine and pre-auth the full cost of the charger, then refund the difference for time used. Or offer a way to plug in for a few minutes free to at least get your phone on to scan the code. ### 1/5 — Useless and violates GDPR *2024-03-16, version 7.0.2* Let’s explore why this app is useless: 1) The battery pack only charged my phone ~20% in 30 minutes. My charger at home will nearly fill up my phone in that time. I paid £2 for that. 2) They force you to sign up to “direct marketing texts” in order to use the service. This is a clear abuse of personal information, as there is no legal basis for processing personal information for marketing, and I’ll be reporting them to the ICO. 3) You get charged in dollars, even if you’re in the UK, which means currency conversion fees on e.g. a credit card. 4) at £2/30 minutes, if you took this out for just 10 hours you’d pay £40 - clearly not worth it. The dispenser was almost full of battery packs, so clearly not in high demand. ### 1/5 — Major design flaw *2024-03-04, version 7.0.2* When you’re able to get it, it works. But when your phone is dead and you need the charge, there’s no way to get the charger without scanning the QR code. I was exploring a new city and my phone was dying, I found the closest kiosk, my phone was at 2% but died right after I tried to open the app, and I was stuck staring at the machine and a dead phone, no way to charge it. ### 2/5 — Not practical if you need it *2023-07-10, version 6.0.1* I rarely use 3rd party charging services or USB charging plugins b/c of the incredible cybersecurity risk. It’s one of the easiest ways to be hacked. But my phone had been dead for two hours and my day had at least six hours left when I walked by a Fuze station. From the station to the website and the app I was disappointed at every turn. The Fuze station doesn’t work without the app, which makes the irrelevant app required (literally everything could be done at a kiosk, except finding the closest charger). That’s a problem, because, again, I walked by a Fuze station two hours after my phone died. I’m lucky I had my work cell on me, and that’s the only reason I could use this service I desperately needed. (I rarely carry my work cell outside of the 9-5, but it definitely takes better concert photos). The actually charging service itself wasn’t great either. After an hour my iPhone 13 charged from 0 to 37%. My personal on-the-go charger charges my phone from 0 to 100% in 45 minutes. But l literally couldn’t fit anything else in my 5x9 Truist Park approved bag for the TWICE concert. ### 1/5 — Worst app I’ve ever used *2023-04-06, version 2.1.2* I first got this app when I was trying to charge my phone at Century City mall, and spent an hour trying to sign up, to which the app shared tons of random error messages. Finally got signed up and couldn’t get a charger for some unknown error. Fast forward 2 weeks, I randomly get charged $40 for apparently using one of their chargers from 10pm-8am. Their customer service is through text, is automated, and doesn’t even respond or help you at all. One of the worst brands I’ve ever dealt with, and the first time I’m writing a review here. ### 1/5 — Don’t use this app!!!! *2023-02-18, version 2.1.1* I used the device for 24 minutes but the system was down when I returned. The customer service kept in saying they will only charge me $2, guess what, they charged me $40 :) ### 1/5 — Scam *2023-01-15, version 2.1.1* They advertised a free 4 hrs of charging on their machine so I thought I’d give it a try. Once I put a card on file (required to ensure we return the charger after the 4h timeframe), the Fuze site said the promo code was invalid. I contacted their support team and they told me to kick rocks, the code was expired. So they’re actively advertising an invalid promo code to scam people into paying for their services. Gross business practice. ### 1/5 — Don’t trust them till they fixed their bugs on the machines *2022-01-22, version 2.0.1* Rented one out for a hour and returned it at a different kiosk ( they promote returning them to Any kiosk for convenience) after I returned it to the different machine I got two $40 charges when it should have been a single charge for $2 . This is the second issue with them . The first time I also got a $40 charge . That seems to be their favorite number . I had to wait three weeks for my first refund . Let’s see how long my second one takes done with this company ### 1/5 — OVERCHARGED *2021-12-08, version 2.0.1* I used it in sofi stadium and found out I was overcharged at $18. I contacted the support and thymes refund the money back. Same thing happened to my friend. I guess if I didn’t contact the supper they will just keep the money. 🙃 ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Sucks *2026-07-02, version 8.2.7* App Randomly Logged me out one day and from then on it Immediately Asks me for my Phone Number to send a Confimation, that NEVER Arrives. Even after deleting the app and re-installing. Even after scanning the QR codes on the battery dispenser stations. This App is a Bust. ### 1/5 — Avoid *2026-06-17, version 8.2.6* I’d recommend you avoid using this. The app is not useful, showing stations with open slots and in places where they don’t even exist. It really ruined my experience when I spent hours trying to return the device to have to mail it back in the end because there was literally nowhere to return it (in Vegas). Mailing it cost me $10 and at the end of the day they would only refund me $20. So essentially in the end I was out about $40 extra. ### 1/5 — AVOID. Crooks. Mystery phone bill charges!!! *2026-06-07, version 8.2.5* The charger pack stopped working after an hour, ran around for hours trying to find a space to return the charger without success, and got charged £4 an hour for that time, (charged £20 in all for just 1 hour’s charge). The only customer support option is a link directing your phone to text an American phone number! I sent one single text due my panic when I was unable to return the charger, no reply, and my mobile provider has charged me for NINE out-of-contract messages today??!! Huh??? What have Fuze done??? Charged me for their non help!? The fact my toddler broke our home charging lead that we brought with us ultimately cost us £21.62. Fuze has given me no choice, but to have to write it off all this money (and block their number), else I’ll pay more mobile charges (how is this allowed?). I was desperate and needed to use the Access pass I had on my phone, and it feels like this company tries to take advantage and scam you out as out of more money than you could reasonably expect. Awful and stressful. ### 1/5 — Horrible system *2026-05-09, version 8.2.3* I wanted to return a charger and the app said there’s a slot available at the station. I came to the station there’s none and now the customer service agent is telling me that I can come back within three days to return it or mail it. Somehow I am responsible for returning it. How do they expect this system to work, it’s crazy. ### 1/5 — Worst service ever *2026-04-10, version 7.4.0* Don’t even try to use this ### 1/5 — BEWARE PREDATORY MARKETING *2025-07-15, version 7.4.0* I thought I was renting a 8 dollar charger and was charged my last 30 dollars. I’m a single mother in the streets and I needed that money for the bus and food for my kid. ### 1/5 — Didn’t charge my phone and got no refund *2025-05-18, version 7.3.0* I paid $8 to rent a charger but the charger died before my phone was even halfway charged. They did not refund me or let me replace it with a working charger when I reached out to customer service ### 1/5 — Poor map / not updated *2025-04-24, version 7.3.0* Went to a location that had multiple boxes available on the app, turns out it was the company headquarters in LA and they have all these false boxes on the app that you can’t access. Then the customer support line agent Roy was completely unhelpful. Got some bugs to work out for sure. ### 1/5 — No transparency with the charges *2024-12-08, version 7.2.0* App says $2/30mins. I rented the charger for 32mins and was charged $4. Charges should be based on the actual minutes used, charging $2 for 2mins is insane and lowkey scam! If you are using their services, please take note of this. ### 1/5 — To expensive *2024-09-19, version 7.2.0* I’m use to grabbing the mobile qube charger and paying 5 dollars a day with it which worked I get it on the way home and return it when I go to work in the morning last night I notice the charge fuze station didn’t think anything. Of it signed up used it this morning when I returned it it was 40 bucks I only had 20 till tomorrow . App itself is super easy to use and cost for charging is surprisingly cheap.
