## What is Fuzzy Doc Search?

Fuzzy Doc Search

A local, instant, no-index fuzzy document search tool. Built on a self-developed Rust stack, it does typo-tolerant fuzzy matching over filenames and document contents, supports acronym and abbreviation matching, and highlights matched positions.

—— Core capabilities ——

Typo-tolerant fuzzy matching
This is not wildcard matching — it is true fuzzy matching that tolerates typos and incomplete input: type any fragment and it hits. For example, typing "doc" finds a file named "document", or "projrep" finds "project report". Even misspelled or partial input matches.

Acronym & abbreviation matching
Supports English acronyms and abbreviations, case-insensitively: e.g. doc → document, www → World Wide Web.

Filename + content search
Fuzzy-search across filenames and file contents in the chosen directory, with matched positions highlighted for quick locate and preview.

Document format support
Currently supports text files (txt / markdown / code) plus docx / pdf / xlsx / rtf / html / mhtml for search and preview. Support for more formats will keep coming for both search and rendering.

Extension filter · include/exclude paths · .gitignore
Filter by extension or groups (code/text/video/audio/image/docs), scope the search to certain directories or skip others, and respect .gitignore.

Multi-window · document preview · local-first
Open several search windows while keeping their sizes consistent; preview results right in the app; everything runs locally — nothing is uploaded.

1. Open the start page and pick a directory.
2. Type any fragment in the search box (typos and abbreviations are fine).
3. Results appear in real time; tap to preview/read, matched positions highlighted.
4. Narrow the scope with extension filter, include/exclude paths, gitignore, etc.

—— Privacy commitment ——

All search happens on-device; nothing is uploaded. As a technical showcase, the app has no in-app fees, no networking, and no ads.
