Some of the features don’t work like the timeline of my treatment. The app occasionally crashes too. ### 2/5 — Blah *2024-04-22* App keeps crashing, the AI always says that the photos are blurry, which they are, because photography 101 - you can’t get the entire row of teeth into focus!!!! and the FX reward points literally have no point whatsoever… for two years now the reward points system is “coming soon”. Ridiculous all around. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2023-11-16, version 3.6.2* First app review I have ever left in my life. Honestly, nothing in this app is functional! A complete waste. I mean, don’t you think with all the complaints about your app that you would actually do something about it? FIX YOUR APP! ### 1/5 — Worthless app, jealous of those who have Invisalign *2023-10-04* I hate this app. It’s not functional, my treatment plan is never up-to-date (for ex it says I finished my treatment in August but really I’m going on my second set of refinements and third set of trays). The pictures they have you take are at impossible angles, I finally stopped taking them. Besides, the pics disappear once taken so you can’t see your progress. I have to take progress pics on my phone and made a little folder to keep up with them. They have this “FXcoin” program that supposedly allows you to earn swag when you do your check-ins, but it’s not actually set up. And the interface is so bare bones and gives the “first app ever made” feel. Honestly, I’m so jealous of those who try to use Invisalign’s app. People in my facebook group post screenshots from their Invisalign app all the time and there is so much more functionality with them! ### 2/5 — Easy Improvements *2023-04-30* The experience with the aligners has been great and I really liked the 3D simulation before I started treatment but the app needs some basic updates: 1. it started reminding me to take pictures without even having the aligners. How about a „I am starting to wear them now“ button that could also easily remind folks when it’s time to change to next stage. 2. Taking a „good“ picture is impossible, everything is considered „too blurry“. While I am able to shoot 4K action movies with my iPhone, this app can’t take a single good picture. Maybe use the macro lens? 3. It’s also impossible to take a picture if you are alone: holding the retractor, your phone (way to close to actually see what you are doing), and no way of taking the picture with your volume buttons and/or a timer. This app should have the disclaimer: not usable for singles. Great idea on the app, bad execution - so far. ### 1/5 — Sharp photos are impossible *2023-04-11* The ease of use of the app is tempered by the fact it’s impossible to take clear photos - every photo says it is blurry. However, my dentist has said the photos are fine the way they are. The aligners are super-easy to use and are a perfect fit in each of my five sets so far, which is the most important part of the whole experience. ### 1/5 — Too bad there’s not another option *2023-04-06* This app is awful! It randomly closes. It never appears to be synced with what my actual dentist is telling me. Taking pictures is way more complicated than it should be And the company is super slow ( except of course in the beginning when they’re trying to get you to sign up and pay them). I tried to make a new start date to know when to switch to the next set of invisalign, but it wouldn’t let me. Also the editing hours part isn’t working atm. Always crashes after the third image is taken. Thank goodness it keeps the previous images. It has become a nightmare that makes me dread the already unpleasant photo upload. The most recent time I attempted to upload pictures it took 45 minutes to take 6 pictures and the app crashed on the 6th picture. I retook the pictures and now I have a message saying it needs to be done again. There should also be a way to message my Doctor. This app negates all the professionalism of my Doctor and makes this experience tedious and frustrating. Please fix this app. ### 1/5 — Worst App *2025-04-19* The worst app ever! My app often crashes in the middle of progress photos either while taking the photo or while it’s uploading. Sometimes my photos reload when the app does, other times I have to start over. I also get frustrated doing progress photos, with about half my photos coming out too blurry, which requires extra friction and time to complete and submit progress. I find it difficult to get the correct lighting and angle, even with good natural and focused lighting. The front selfie camera is easier to position, but doesn’t have a flash on my iPhone, which often results in blurry photos. The rear camera is hard to hold to get the correct angle, but comes out better with flash. I wish there was support for camera zoom as well. It takes too much time for pics to load. When it does load it shuts down, sometimes saving last pic, sometimes not. Taking pics is nearly impossible as it constantly states “pictures are too blurry, retake” so frustrating for the user. I’m wondering if receiving pics makes any difference. Is this really worth my time&energy as a consumer? At my initial evaluation in August, I was told that my teeth would be straight and I’d be finished by March of the following year. Here I am three plus yrs after beginning w/ Ortho Fx and I’m still not done despite faithfully wearing my aligners. I very ready to be finished and very frustrated. My teeth look better but I’m not sure I can recommend to a friend. Also app shhutdown on first day I did it so had To finish next am because I was going to be late for work. It’s so frustrating to use. Ugh. So i end up getting notified that i need better pictures.
