### 2/5 — Flakey!

*2024-12-27, version 3.0.19*

It worked OK for some years but became unreliable & now won’t allow delete/recreate. Needs to be updated

### 2/5 — Won’t link to Alexa anymore !

*2023-02-27, version 3.0.19*

Won’t link to Alexa anymore !

Has support ended ?

### 2/5 — The issues seem to be continuing...

*2019-12-19, version 3.0.19*

Had these for four years now and gradually added to them so have about ten.

They were excellent, you’d get an occasional glitch but nothing that wouldn't be fixed.

This year however they have gone downhill and now from bad to worse.

Now its daily failures. I did suspect it was some old kit thats just given up however it seems from other reviews its a server problem so who knows if it’ll get resolved or if its just game over.

Id avoid for now....

### 2/5 — It’s okay! Cannot add new Plugs in new iOS

*2019-10-26, version 3.0.18*

I have 30 + plugs, G-Homa are expensive for what they are, that said, the accompanying app is free and has a lot going for it. It’s what made me use G-Home over any other plug.

It’s simple to use, has timers, count downs, image icons or pictures, groups, schedules and more.

The big issues with the app are:

1 - It’s not really user friendly. There are different options in different screens to configure the plugs. What I mean by this is the count down timer (max on time) is accessed via the main list of plugs. The timer to switch things on then off automatically are within the plug settings screen.

2 - With the new iOS, you cannot add any new plugs! The plugs work on the 2.4 ghz ranger rather than the 5 ghz. Given my iPhone connects to the 5, in the app, it shows what Wi Fi the phone is connected to rather than been able to sea h for any that are available. The problem here is that, even if you close the app, change your iPhone Wi Fi network to a suitable one then go back into the app, it still doesn’t change the Wi Fi name. Because of this, new plugs cannot be added.

If you’re using it with existing plugs, it’s fine, just don’t change your Wi Fi name, reset your plugs or buy any new ones!!!

### 2/5 — G-Homa

*2019-06-10, version 3.0.18*

DO NOT BUY THIS AT ALL !!!! It is a pile of merd Worked at first then it wouldn’t at all tried & better tried.
B&Q ARE SELL THIS CRAP!!!! Don’t buy it !!!!

### 1/5 — Awful

*2019-05-20, version 3.0.18*

This app needs major updating! It never works

### 1/5 — You saw it elsewhere - do not buy!

*2018-12-22, version 3.0.18*

Bought this today at B&Q and now 1 hour in. either it does not work, or the instructions are completely inadequate. It will not accept the WiFi password. I even forgot my connection to reset my phone to confirm the password was ok, (which it was), but the app would still not allow a connection.

### 1/5 — Limited app functionality

*2018-12-19, version 3.0.18*

Timer only allows one on/off sequence a day......won’t buy another.

### 1/5 — Absolutely useless pathetic piece of tech

*2018-12-17, version 3.0.18*

Yes, absolutely useless pathetic piece of tech. Previous reviews sum up the situation very well indeed. Save your time and money and avoid this piece of tech, it’s going back to B & Q pretty sharp tomorrow. Piece of junk big time!

### 1/5 — G-Homs

*2018-12-17, version 3.0.18*

Wish I’d read the reviews. Failed to connect to WiFi so unable to even try to use

### 1/5 — Hopeless

*2018-12-14, version 3.0.18*

In app on iPhone, keyboard will not disappear to allow you to press Activate - the button is hidden by keyboard! Hopeless.

### 1/5 — Does not link to Amazon Alexa skill

*2018-11-30, version 3.0.18*

If you are downloading this in preparation to link to an Amazon echo device you’ll be disappointed, it will not link up, and will not verify with account. Customer support is none existent.
It does work on the app though - but sadly I got it purposely for linking to Echo.

### 1/5 — 😡😡😡😡😡

*2018-11-08, version 3.0.18*

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!
Disappointed with B&Q for even stocking this product!
They won’t connect to your WiFi regardless of what you do, don’t waste your time!
‘STREAMLINE FAILED’...JOG ON, BUY CHEAP, BUY TWICE, UNBELIEVABLE!!

### 2/5 — Temperamental

*2018-10-09, version 3.0.18*

I use it with my iPhone7. When I got my first plug it was spot on, got the second plug spot on, got the third plug and it went downhill instantly. Timer works ok most days but I have come home and the lights haven’t switched on some days for no apparent reason. Also when you want to manually turn lights on and off to override any time settings (which I do daily) you have come out of the app to clear any pages you’ve got open which is VERY ANNOYING it happens every time. For the amount I’ve paid out on my 3 devices I expect things to work as sold! Safe to say I’m not going to buy anymore and I won’t be recommending them.

### 2/5 — Average at best, avoid.

*2018-09-23, version 3.0.18*

The app and device worked fine to begin with. I could turn the socket on/off and schedule through the app. For the last 3 months the socket is often permanently on and unless I manually override. There are less expensive and better alternatives on the market.

### 2/5 — Ok when it works, shocking support

*2018-07-25, version 3.0.18*

Plugged it in for the first time and set it up no problem. Worked fine for a couple of months, then I moved it to another socket. It wouldn’t recognise the network and said the network/password was wrong. I contacted the company via the web page and told them, at length, what the problem was. I got an email in return telling me to verify my email address which I did. After a further week I contacted them again and got a one line reply, ‘Download the manual’. To be fair, there was a link to download the manual, which I’d already done. I contacted them again and got another one line reply, ‘read the manual’. I responded and said that wasn’t very helpful and got the final one liner, ‘I don’t know what else to tell you’. It was quite clear they couldn’t care less about my problem and had no intention of helping me. I ended up buying a different make of WiFi sockets. This is the worst customer support I’ve ever seen.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-10-06, version 3.0.19*

Server gone down again

### 1/5 — Dreadful app and dreadful products.

*2022-12-06, version 3.0.19*

Hasn’t been updated in 3 years. !!!
That says it all.
Don’t waste money or time with G Homa. Hopefully they will be prosecuted and shut down any day now for selling products that don’t work. It’s illegal and they are criminals

### 1/5 — Return the plug

*2021-12-04, version 3.0.19*

I have some Amazon plugs, TP Link plugs and a G-Homs plug… please pay the extra and get a TP link. Don’t continue funding the G-Homs plugs as they’re rubbish as is the app. To connect to the WiFi you have to let it search for the WiFi name and you enter the password, when entering the password the keyboard displays but it also covers the “activate” button which is needed to be pressed to make it search for the connection. The keyboard then can’t be removed therefore stopping the button from ever being pressed!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2021-10-24, version 3.0.19*

Nothing works as it should. A waste of time, money and energy. Useless.

### 1/5 — G Homa

*2021-10-07, version 3.0.19*

Tried for days to set without success
Read other reviews same problem
Now I know why it’s called a homa
As in Homer simpson doesn’t work

### 1/5 — Absolutely useless

*2021-01-03, version 3.0.19*

It didn’t work from the minute it was took out the box, support from customer service is non-existent. Kept saying password was incorrect Ended up returning the same day.

### 1/5 — Now absolute garbage

*2020-12-29, version 3.0.19*

Just the worst connectivity issues ever. I’ve had four of these for a while and since moving provider setting them up is an absolute nightmare.

“Smartline failed” over and over, whatever that is. I can’t find any mention of it in their FAQ’s then after hours of buggering about one decides to connect. No logical reason. I reckon it’s some poxy little 386 PC running as a server in someone’s bedroom somewhere in China that’s just crapping out constantly.

I’ve pestered my provider and ultimately it’s not them it’s G-HOMA and their crappy products, abysmal service and terrible support.

Do yourself a favour and do not buy or use G-HOMA products. They may work for a while and then your place in the server will pushed around the U bend.

RUBBISH RUBBISH RUBBISH.

I WISH I COULD GIVE IT ZERO STARS.

12/2020
I wish I could give it -5 stars. Constantly unreliable servers and inaccurate fault messages. SORT OUT YOUR SERVERS.

29/12/2020
Down again. All devices offline. Zero support. Zero reliability. Zero integrity. Zero communication. Zero customer value.

Please avoid G-Homa. Their appalling service is utterly indefensible. I believe they couldn’t give a hoot for those who have invested in these awful devices and they consider maintaining connectivity as some kind of freebie that is a bit of a hindrance.

I envisage a 386 somewhere in a bedroom with a clapped out drive that is running their services, sweaty and full of dry capacitors. Their technical team sitting there switching it on and off until the buggered PSU kicks into life.

### 1/5 — Does not connect

*2019-12-18, version 3.0.19*

Tried several times to get it to connect to the app. Given up. Don’t waste your time.

### 1/5 — Absolute Rubbish

*2019-12-07, version 3.0.19*

Don’t waste your money, it doesn’t work!

### 1/5 — Works - but a bit intermittent

*2019-11-14, version 3.0.19*

Failure to switch off devices unless multiple attempts are done. Work around- close app and re-launch - I’ll give you that fix free G-Homa 😉 API would be nice to allow developers to improve integration & enable switching from other apps - SIRI - Google etc

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very good product

*2018-12-23, version 3.0.18*

Totally flummoxed by the negative reviews. These products work really well. I’ve got 8 set up and have never had a problem.

### 5/5 — So far so good....

*2018-12-14, version 3.0.18*

This product has a lot of bad reviews however so far so good. I was able to set it up in minutes. We’ve done some initial tests and they all seem to work. Going to use it in combination with other security features.

### 5/5 — Does it’s job

*2018-05-26, version 3.0.18*

Only problem I had was getting the WiFi on it. For some reason uninstall the app put it back on bing it worked.

### 5/5 — Does what it says

*2018-05-04, version 3.0.18*

Works fine for me in 2 mins. Don’t know why there so much negative feedback. Would highly recommend

### 5/5 — Wi fi plug

*2018-03-20, version 3.0.17*

No problems in setting up. Works very well, easy to set the timer. Hopefully won’t suffer the issues others have had after reading the reviews.

### 5/5 — No Problems.

*2018-03-03, version 3.0.17*

Not sure why some reviewers have had a problem, I’ve got 9 of these plugs working inside and outside of my property with no problem. Good product easy to use and no logging in all the time. 👍🏼

### 5/5 — Does what it says on the box

*2017-12-21, version 3.0.17*

Does what it says on the box. All set up within 5 minutes, must use the pass code for your router.

### 4/5 — Excellent most of the time

*2018-12-17, version 3.0.18*

Easy to set up and reliable over the last few months with one important exception
If Internet is down (& every provider has that problem at some time) then it didn’t work and all switching is compromised
Needs a mod to include an in home backup on Mac or PC to overcome this when this happens

### 4/5 — Works great

*2017-12-28, version 3.0.17*

Don’t know what the last reviewer was doing but I’ve got 5 plugs set up and working and they have been working reliably for months now. The app is simple and works great. Would have given 5 stars but no HomeKit or Alexa comparability loses a star.

### 4/5 — WiFi plug app

*2017-12-04, version 3.0.17*

After reading the reviews I was a little worried about buying this but I needn’t have been concerned. I plugged the adapter in, jumped through some hoops on the app and it worked first time. I don’t have to log in every time I use the app but what I will say is that when the router goes offline the adapter needs some coaxing to come back to life. All in all a good app (not perfect) and works with a decent product at a good price
