## What is GAEB X?

GAEB X-Ray scans GAEB files in seconds. Just drag a file into the window and you immediately see what’s inside and whether anything is off.
No file changes, no account, no cloud.

The tool for anyone who needs to know fast whether a GAEB file is clean: planners, issuers, estimators, bidders, and support teams who receive an unfamiliar file and want to get to the bottom of it.

HOW IT WORKS Drag & Drop into the window, select files, or pass them via “Open with” — GAEB X-Ray reads them write-protected and generates a clear inspection report. Your file stays unchanged on your device.

WHOLE FOLDERS AT ONCE
Choose multiple files or even an entire folder: GAEB X-Ray searches it for all GAEB files (.x80–.x87) and checks them in one go.
The results overview puts problem cases at the top — tap a file to open its full report.
Group the list by project or exchange phase if needed.
In seconds, you’ll see which of 50 files will cause trouble.

THE INSPECTION REPORT
The report is split into three tabs:
• Overview — verdict at a glance: readable, errors, warnings, notes; metrics (items, findings count) and classification: exchange phase (X80–X87) and GAEB-DA-XML version
• Structure — file details (creating program and date), inventory (items, categories, outline depth, embedded images) and coverage (priced, with quantity, with long text)
• Findings — phase check and quality check: every issue with severity and location (OZ), CSV Export

WHAT GETS CHECKED
GAEB X-Ray detects typical pitfalls in GAEB data exchange before they turn into headaches for the recipient:
• Order numbers: length, allowed characters, ascending order, duplicate OZ
• Structure: one item level, lot first, single-digit index
• Units of measure: schema limits and unusual units (e.g. m³ instead of m3)
• Totals: stated vs calculated overall total
• Phase rules: what a phase must include — and what it must not

Reads GAEB DA XML for phases X80 to X87; the inspection follows GAEB specialist documentation 3.3.
