Im Gegensatz zum analogen Spiel hilft die App extrem, da unmögliche Züge quasi ausgeblendet werden. Leider ist das Tutorial nicht so gut wie bei anderen spielen, das wäre extrem ausbaufähig da das Spiel selbst eher komplex ist. Man muss definitiv einige Runden spielen bevor man überhaupt erst mal rein kommt. Auch die Übersicht ist nicht so schön wie beim Brettspiel, Man muss schon ganz genau hinschauen welche Aktionen einem zur Verfügung stellen. ### 4/5 — Sehr gut *2024-09-14* Tolle Umsetzung eines genialen Brettspiels. An die Bedienung muss man sich erstmal etwas gewöhnen, aber das ist bei einem derart komplexen Spiel durchaus OK. Nach ein paar Partien hat man sich dran gewöhnt und merkt, dass es durchaus durchdacht umgesetzt wurde (z.B. die angezeigten alternativen Bezahlmöglichkeiten). Ich habe lange auf die App gewartet und bin sehr zufrieden. Nachtrag: ein Stern Abzug für die katastrophale Netzwerkumsetzung. Jedesmal wenn ich in einem asynchronen Spiel wieder am Zug bin, hängt die Verbindung. Ich muss die App neu starten, damit die Verbindung wieder aufgebaut wird. Since macos 13, we can download install and run iphone/ipad applications (from appstore) without steam, on macos. But this game doesn’t work. Viele Grüße, Team Digidiced ### 3/5 — Enjoyable, but… *2023-02-10, version 1.7* I am enjoying playing the game, but if you aren’t already well aware of the game flow, it is probably going to be tough. Even after knowing the game, I spent a lot of time trying to find some information. Sometimes the help text won’t display, so if you forget an icon, you may need to look it up on the web or a physical rule book. Generally, there is just too much information to keep track of and it all needs to be behind menus due to space constraints. I played it on steam and the info was easier to see. The iPad is just a little too small so it appears they needed to make some compromises… and my iPhone was virtually unplayable. Also, I encountered a bug which required screenshots to properly explain. I tried to log the bug but got no response. I don’t know if the game log made it possible to see what I meant or not. But there was no feedback. So far, I have only noticed two bugs and those weren’t likely to be common. Overall, good for people who already know the game and have the discipline to look at all the places they need to. ### 4/5 — Excellente simulation mais pas de son ! *2022-07-13* Cette application est absolument géniale, du même acabit que les adaptations numériques de scythe ou terraforming mars. The difficulty of the AIs is scaled well. Very addicting and challenging game. ### 3/5 — Great implementation but still bugged *2021-12-28, version 1.3* Love the implementation, the game presents you with all the possible options and alternative costs, so it saves a lot of calculating time compared to the cardboard version. Just a couple of issues that need to get solved to bump the rating. When you undo turn or quit the game in the middle of an action the games bugs out and the savegame is corrupted: either it won’t reload (eternal spinning) or when entering ingame you can’t finish any actions. ### 5/5 — My backside hurts! *2021-12-26, version 1.3* Perhaps I’m a dunce in this game, but the AI (playing only against the Cheater difficulty) opponents give me some pain! I love the challenge, and I won’t let it stop me from improving! It also seems this time the AI isn’t so “scripted” in how it plays. I’m glad to see that Gaia project was turned to an app. Solid artwork and fantastic AIs to play against. Been playing for a week and noticed a terrible bug - and this is in the against-AI mode - sometimes undo button will make the game stuck (loading forever) and the only option is to restart the game and that means losing all progress. I have tried numerous times to play a three player game online with friends, but every single game hits some sort of glitch/snag meaning that we cannot finish it. The developers ignore all requests to get our games back on track. It simply doesn’t work. I was able to follow the first part about the planets, but only because I know Terra Mystica, and it took too much thinking and trying to figure out what the screen might be telling me in relation to the words. Once it gets to power tokens and Area I, II, etc. - I don’t see anything related to what the tutorial is telling me. In my mind, this is unplayable until that’s resolved. ### 1/5 — Unplayable on iPad Air 2 *2021-11-21, version 1.0* The Apple Store stated “playable on this tablet”. It wasn’t until after I started to play I looked again on the apple store. Min 3mb ram!? iPad Air is only 2. Why so much? The board is blank on my iPad and the game is unplayable. I really hope the devs look into this and make or playable for older generations. I’ve bought other new board games recently and do not have this issue. This should not be an issue here. ### 1/5 — Tutorial not helpful…. *2021-11-19, version 1.0* I’m so lost.. ### 2/5 — Better Left On The Table *2022-02-21, version 1.5* This is the first review I have written but felt that it was important enough to say a something. Gaia is one of my favorite tabletop games so I was excited to be able to play it on mobile. Hands down I would rather play the game in person rather than in the version of mobile. It is a game that does not translate well. There are too many menus and sun menus(it felt like I had to search for everything that I needed access too). The inconography that attempts to simplify things makes the game more complex than it already is. A learning curve but well worth the effort ### 5/5 — Spannendes Experten Spiel *2026-04-26* Das Spiel ist sehr komplex aufgebaut, aber wenn man es nach ein paar Runden verstanden hat, ist es das beste Brettspiel (für mich) Jede Runde ist durch unterschiedliche Punktwertungen, Rundenboni und Tech-Plättchen, anders. Jede Fraktion hat eigene Fähigkeiten und Spielweisen. Hier geht es hauptsächlich darum sich auf den Planeten auszubreiten, seine Wirtschaft auszubauen und vor allem den technologischen Baum auszubauen und sich als Volk weiterzuentwickeln. Es gibt nicht die Möglichkeit eine Gegner anzugreifen, aber man kann, wenn man vorausplant, sich dem Gegenspieler in den Weg stellen und ihm den Plan vermasseln. Also super fordernd und spannend das Spiel, nichts für nebenbei. I like to play fast and the app is very fluid and easy to use. There’s a bit of a learning curve and it helps if you know terra mystica to understand the basic concepts of what things cost and where bonuses come from. There’s 14 different factions with different abilities so plenty of replay value. The AI is pretty good too. All in all one of the best board game apps out at the moment.
