It just takes too much time. The key to this game is similar to Celtic Wars- time your attack launches so they arrive at the target at the desired time. Sometimes this will require you to lose sleep in order to launch at the correct time. If you're willing to sink your life into this, at least for a little time, then this game has a lot to offer. Contrary to other reviews, documentation is enough to get you through. There's lots of building, resources to collect and galaxies with lots and lots of planets to colonize or capture. For starters, the documentation is almost non-existent. You have to learn what to do by trial and error. There is nothing to hold your interest for more than 1-2 minutes at a time. You log in, set 1 building to upgrade, set 1 research job, send out an expedition, then log out for a couple of hours till something is done. It takes 1-2 minutes, tops. I've searched and searched for something interesting to do, there just isn't anything. The galaxy map (where you interact with other players) is seriously lame. It's just a list of planets...not a map at all. The graphics and layout are great. Give me something fun to do, like piloting a ship in battle, and you might have a good game, here. ### 1/5 — Laughable *2016-02-25, version 2.2.1* This text based game has added ridiculous graphic images. Your 'home planet' looks like a broken up piece of land floating in space. This is pay to win, you can buy any resource with real money & enemy players can simply buy an invincibility shield against you when you have a legitimate win against them. Almost every single player has abandoned this. There are maybe 25 active players worldwide :/ shame this game used to be great before it changed. ### 1/5 — The good old days *2016-02-24, version 2.2.1* This game was formerly my favorite game. Then came the dark days the "update" that totally ruined and changed this game. No one likes this game anymore all of these reviews are total crap anyone can see that. Don't listen to the lame haters. ### 2/5 — Use to be great could be again *2016-02-14* GE use to be a great game with lots of players and clear rules. Unfortunately the game has become massively pay to win which is fine if there were still a skill component to the game as there use to be. Now the rules that use to exist no longer do and no admin has had the logical idea to either fix the bugs which let rule breaking or tell us the new rules that they have secretly decided upon. It's very frustrating as the lack of rules only help those with deep pockets and as such will make it hard for this game to ever again be a lot of fun as this will drive players away. a high number of active players are crucial to the game. Currently the game lacks number which has severely hindered the ability to effectively play. This is only compounded by the p2w aspect which has been hugely amplified. Keep the play to win that's 100% fine. It's a business and you need to earn a living. But grow the game and to do that you will have to fix the many problems the game currently faces. ### 1/5 — Absolutely awful *2015-11-08* The game has suffered a dwindling player base for years. Recently new updates haven't helped but now, with this new update, it has truly destroyed the game. Don't waste your time downloading the app, in its current form it is unplayable unless you have several hours just to do the most basic of activities that used to take a matter of minutes. Go and stick needles in your eyes while riding a horse during an earthquake eating a bowl of porridge. It would be more enjoyable. Furthermore the new game owner has banned players from the Facebook page that have been posting negative comments against the game and has even created his own accounts to have fictional conversations and praising the game. Find another game to waste your time and money on, this one is beyond saving now. Also ignore the review from Alex Kitsushin, he's the games owner and trying to artificially bump up the apps star rating. The fact 200 former players of Ge are now creating their own version of the game he has ruined should tell you all you need to know. ### 4/5 — Osiris plays GE *2015-07-04, version 1.8.0* Ive played for about a year and its a very challenging game. I really enjoy playing it, been into wargames since they were on huge tables in the Rec room. Ive also read some of the reviews here and feel they are pretty rough with the game as a whole. If you have alot of time this game rocks it mixes skill, resource management, and interaction with other players, all in with a space grand strategy theme. I Must stress its a difficult game and not one of those play for 15 minute pocket passtimes. Takes hours and hours and you can lose all your work from a bad decision or just not paying attention. Many aspects are not intuitive and you learn from trial and error and by asking more expert players, especially by asking other players. One thing is you cant be completely conquered out of the game, lose your whole fleet, yes. Have your planets nuked till the glow,yes. However you can always rebuild and not have to start all the way from the beginning which i think is really nice. If you think you can be a true galactic admiral its worth a try. We certainly could use more players. May 2014 update: universe reset, all work lost, no warning no refund July 2015 update: new ui, game much improved, but no staff or admins (all got fired for allowing/enabling cheating) however game subject to long periods of server down and time lost Osirisreborn ### 2/5 — Clunky & Awkward *2014-10-23* So, they forced an upgraded interface on the player base that looks nicer but remains awful to use. The game itself is a replica of another space warfare/ resource management game so if you know what your doing you'll pick it up quickly. For the new players they are seemingly improving the help guides presently so you can be hopeful that one day it will stage a resurgence, but; Gameplay wise this IS NOT a pick up and play game, you must invest hours every day to keep what you have and grow. DO NOT start if you don't have hours every day spare, you simply won't be able to keep up or compete. NB: partners, children managers and work must all be ignored whilst you seek glory or else you will fail. The admin team are a mixed bag of helpful to downright rude but I guess that's what happens when they aren't accountable for their actions. For the modern mobile gamer this game doesn't look pretty, make great sounds or attract attention, it's going to struggle to get the player base it needs. ### 4/5 — Needs an updated review! *2014-07-04* I've played this game for while now and the game is what you make it. If you like playing against other players instead of AI but your fleet planets and moon up to crash (destroy) other fleets this is the game for you. And is you want a game which unlike so many other iTunes games it isn't pay to win! For those of you that don't know it's something like ogame. All numbers and no graphics. My biggest advice to any new player is join a good alliance! Not good as in they are ranked number 1 for fleet size I mean an alliance that can teach you and advise you about playing the game. There is a lot to learn and you need to learn it fast if you don't want to be farmed (attacked over and over again for your resources). Yes the game has some bugs but I don't really notice them and it doesn't affect the game play much to worry about. Frequent updates allow the real player reviews to be buried. Shameful. There are almost no players using this game to compete against- perhaps 20 worldwide. It's a shameless pay to win. Your best planned attacks are easily undone with a paid shield before they land. The learning curve is very very steep and most likely you will be crashed a few times, but you learn and move forward. First establish a good economy and then look for trouble. That's the way to go. I see some people complain of being crushed by stronger players. Well, with time and patience you can always be that pest to a strong player that they will leave you alone. What this game does is let you do that. Unlike other games I tried out there I always come back to this one. Just love it I guess. Word of advice though: join a clan as soon as you can. This will be your only source of good advice. Plus the forums. And one more thing, the level of communication between players in this game is amazing. The people that say negative things about the game are the people who quit after a week of playing. This game takes time to play. If your a gamer that likes to see how far you've come from day one and and aren't one of those kids that want instant gratification. This will be a good game for you. You build an empire and start from square one where you must build mines to get income, research technology to build ships defense and other colonies. You crash other fleets and time attacks against other players around the world. Who wouldn't find that fun? Great game and very addictive!
