Stay away. Due to limitations with the Apple TV, Galactic can't open websites on the TV without the help of another device. To alleviate the problems with such limitations, Galactic allows users to browse previews of websites without their phone, search the web without their phone, and more. Unlike using Safari and normal screen mirroring, you can also browse websites in widescreen when using your phone as a controller. Each of these are impossible without Galactic. Galactic explains all of its limitations on the App Store product page, including in images and the description. If you are unhappy with the app, you are encouraged to request a refund from Apple. It says the QR code is not galactic. ### 1/5 — Misleading *2025-11-27, version 3.1* Doesn’t work as advertised. Uses the iPhone connection rather than the TV connection. I tested this by split tunneling a VPN on my router. The app is merely a browser that asks you to screen mirror. You cannot open anything with it. It just allows you to view the homepage and nothing else no interaction. It is fussy to engage with … having to go back and forth between your phone app and TV and when you finally get to what you are trying to launch the screen goes black on your TV and the video plays only on your iPhone while the audio comes out of your TV speakers. For that you might as well whip out your iPad and easily watch whatever on that. Total rip off. It’s only function is to look up Wikipedia info about what was typed in the search bar. When people think of a browser, they think of Brave, Librewolf, and of course Firefox. Although there is a use for this, and the developer was open about how a browser isn’t possible due to the way the OS functions, I think that it is misleading at best and a scam at worst. I think the developer should remove the word “Browser” from the name. Certainly isn’t one and certainly isn’t worth the $1.99. **Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for your review. It appears you’re referring to the Apple TV version of Galactic. Unfortunately, apps are not capable of opening websites directly on Apple TV. Additionally, the app shares its name with the Apple Watch version, which can open directly websites - and due to restrictions on the App Store, names cannot be split between them. Such a limitation is sadly uncontrollable, but was made clear early in the app’s description. A recent update to Galactic allows you to browse the web by streaming websites from your iOS device to your TV - which offers a markable improvement upon standard screen mirroring, as Galactic now allows you to browse in full 16:9, and at a zoomed-out scale to match your TV.
