There are very few good games on the app store such as this one. No ads, no need to do IAP. The gameplay is fun, maybe a bit repetitive. What made me give this rating is because of the hardlock in the 3rd mission of the Supernova dlc. After the rescue sequence, the game just goes to a black screen, you cannot control your ship or circumvent this problem. The developers have stopped supporting this game, so i doubt this bug is getting fixed. There’s 20 missions in the Supernova dlc and you get stuck on the 3rd one :/ So do not buy the dlc, but give the game a try. Also you don’t need to buy the dlcs anyways because there’s a bug which allows you to get all the dlcs for free. Also also, the controls are awkward and the buttions and joystick are at the like the edge of the screen. Sometimes some buttons get partially covered by the dynamic island. ### 2/5 — Great, but please fix this *2026-07-26, version 1.1.19* I originally installed this game when it came out almost 15 years ago. Loved,it, and still do. It’s REMARKABLY detailed I re-downloaded it recently and purchased all of the expansion packs In the Supernova add-on there is an evacuation sequence from the Lurr station. After the evacuation is complete and the dialogue finishes, the screen goes black and prevents from going further. I spent close to $100 on upgrades and add-ons, is there anyway to get this fixed? ### 3/5 — Needs fixed *2026-07-19, version 1.1.19* Many of the missions now and the Valkyrie add on don’t ever pay out. To black screen crashes after completing a rescue mission are a couple to mention of many more bugs and glitches. Also it’s been years since this game has been updated. Very disappointing, I’ve enjoyed the game besides the insane bugs. ### 4/5 — Compatibility Issues *2026-07-02, version 1.1.19* Galaxy on Fire 2 HD is honestly one of the best mobile games ever made. The gameplay is incredibly fun and offers a rare amount of freedom—you can be a trader, bounty hunter, miner, pirate, or just explore the galaxy at your own pace. There’s an impressive amount of content, a genuinely engaging story, tons of ships and equipment to collect, and progression that keeps you coming back for more. The art direction and graphics have aged remarkably well, and it’s amazing how smoothly the game still runs. Even on a modern iPhone, it doesn’t drain the battery or turn the phone into a hand warmer like so many newer mobile games. Unfortunately, newer versions of iOS have introduced several compatibility issues. Story missions sometimes say you’ve been paid (for example, “30,000 credits have been transferred to your account”), but no credits are actually added. During some “Meanwhile…” cutscenes at another station, the game loads you clipped inside that station afterward. I’ve been able to work around that by simply entering the station and leaving again, but it’s still a noticeable bug. The biggest issue I’ve encountered is in the Supernova campaign during the mission involving the black box and the prisms. After recovering the black box, the dialogue finishes, the screen flickers, and then the game gets stuck on a permanent black screen, preventing further progress. Despite those problems, this is still an outstanding game and one of the finest space RPGs ever released on mobile. I just hope it receives an update to address these compatibility issues on modern iOS because it absolutely deserves to keep being enjoyed by new players. ### 4/5 — Black Screen Bug *2026-06-20, version 1.1.19* Love this game, have since 2011. However don’t buy the dlc, they are also great but bugged. On certain missions the screen goes black and the game is hard locked where you can’t progress. I’d love to see a quick hottie for these bugs!!!
