### 4/5 — Absolutely miss playing this game with friends

*2025-11-25, version 1.9.5*

I remember back in time 2017-19, it used to be super fun, the clan wars, the tournaments, fun people playing, chatting and so on.

Now it’s empty, there’s no players.

I think Phil, has left the game behind.

Maybe it would be a good idea to do some ads, bring new people in, have more consumables (in-app-purchases)

I don’t know, it’s just a bit sad to see one of the best games ever miss its potential.

### 2/5 — Multiplayer only?

*2025-03-20, version 1.9.5*

Why?

### 4/5 — Everything right and wrong with this game

*2024-05-16, version 1.9.5*

The Good, once you figure out how to create a free account and play, and learn the modes, how to play, community do’s and don’ts (etc) the game is pretty immersive, and surprisingly hard to put down or forget about. And nobody has time to explain ally the reasons this game is so good. I would give this 10/10 if not for what is actually wrong with the game which I’ll cover now. The Devs of the game created a near masterpiece that would likely last forever, but they barely invest time any more it seems to either keep working with the galcon community to improve it, or bother to spend any time, expense or effort to market this game whatsoever. It is pretty shocking how Galcon was the first real-time strategy shooter on IOS (seriously). And still heavily engaged by its fans to this day. But the developers do almost nothing to promote it resulting in a very tight-knit community of players who are comprised of almost entirely veterans. And there is no way to avoid being in rooms with these players. Not only that, many of them seem to take advantage of the evidently super easy ability to create and play on endless Smurf accounts. This is the single greatest issue with the game. The game should monitor an account/players level based on wins/losses and pair them accordingly based on rate of win, not rank alone. Some kind of algorithm or AI should be able to determine if a player is new or a Smurf account. I was told there used to be a ‘dojo’ training mode, and an asterisk/penalty for accounts which apparently shared an IP address with other accounts, but they removed both, opting instead to disable chat to new accounts which actually serves as another disability to actual new players. And apparently there was a better payout system that has been abandoned. It just seems the devs are out of touch with its community and especially anything at all with regard to drumming up or retaining new players. And as of late, are even turning a nose up to the wants/recommendations of the veterans it seems. But if you can look past all that, and/or actually like a bit of drama, along with what actually is an incredibly amazing game (or rather a whole suite of games actually) in so many ways, not to mention just how smooth and beautifully put together this game is (it even still works flawlessly on 3rd generation iPads), and interested in a game that is strangely exciting to try to master (but be forewarned, there literally are tons of Jedi level masters who regularly play) you really should see and experience this game which you’ll no doubt come to hate as well as love like no other touch screen game out there. For strategy game lovers, this game is a must. Let’s just hope the current devs someday learn to build/utilize an actual modern marketing and support/expansion development team.

### 2/5 — Disappointingly creepy

*2022-12-22, version 1.9.5*

The only way to play this otherwise great game is to do consent to indefinite tracking. A game-specific ID is also pushed hard. None of this is necessary, and it ruins the gaming experience to have this pushed so hard. And that’s before reading the privacy policy.

### 2/5 — App does not allow one to continue solo play

*2022-11-20, version 1.9.5*

The app worked great for several days but abruptly changed, asking for logins and removing options for solo play.

### 2/5 — Multiplayer gone

*2022-08-19, version 1.9.5*

Multiplayer is gone

### 2/5 — Overcomplicated forced online play

*2021-12-26, version 1.9.5*

Original game was much better but they wont rerelease it on the new ipads. Very disappointed in this mess of a game. I just want to play the old simpler game that was single player. Instead this overly complicated mess is the replacement.

### 3/5 — Way too difficult!!

*2021-08-24, version 1.9.5*

Would’ve been cool if you could select a difficulty level. Such a cool idea for this game tho

### 2/5 — Galcon Fusion was much better

*2021-07-08, version 1.9.5*

This game makes no sense. It’s impossible to play single player and the game just isn’t as good. Bring back Galcon Fusion, that game was fun to play.

### 2/5 — Haven’t played before

*2021-03-10, version 1.9.5*

It won’t let me create a password and I’ve tried every Capitalization and number combinations known to man for any password creation, and now it’s saying too many failed tries🤦‍♂️

### 2/5 — No longer works

*2020-10-11, version 1.9.5*

I realize the last update was two years ago, but it appears there is no longer online play. It’s only fun playing predictable bots for so long :(

### 3/5 — invalid password

*2020-09-19, version 1.9.5*

i really don't understand how to make an account

### 5/5 — Played for years

*2020-07-22, version 1.9.5*

I love this game. I’ve played it for years. I’ll hopefully continue to play it for many years to come.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No password reset

*2025-05-23, version 1.9.5*

I can’t reset my password to get access to my account

### 1/5 — Forced to play against others

*2022-12-25, version 1.9.5*

I used to enjoy Galcon, but do not like being only allowed to play against other people. They need to allow you to turn tat feature off.

### 1/5 — How to ruin a good game

*2021-12-25, version 1.9.5*

I loved the old version. Loved it. Played for many happy hours. All I want to do is play that game again, alone. It’s fine to make a social version of the game, but to make it the ONLY way to play… it’s unnecessary, it’s stupid, it’s game design malpractice.

### 1/5 — Appalling

*2021-08-22, version 1.9.5*

Used to love Galcon 1 on my iPod touch back in the day. This app just doesn’t work though. Once through the tutorial there’s no way to play as it forces you to make an account and regardless of what I put it says invalid password and now too many failed attempts. This app is like a useless brick now, redownloading also still says too many failed attempts

### 1/5 — UI hell

*2021-03-20, version 1.9.5*

loved the original and loved how easy it was to pick up and play, now there are layers and layers of menu, none of the icons say what they do... can’t figure out how to just play a normal game

### 1/5 — Cant create password

*2020-10-28, version 1.9.5*

Keeps saying password invalid, with no reference to what the criteria is, used capitals, numbers, characters, to no avail. Now says too many attempts. Deleted, yet another ridiculous game set up that the writers don't actually test. Clearly these mugs have no idea to attract customers. Actually took pleasure deleting this pathetic attempt for a game.

### 1/5 — BRING THE OLD ONE BACK.

*2020-09-04, version 1.9.5*

Please.

### 1/5 — EOO: invalid method

*2019-05-29, version 1.9.5*

Cryptic message received each time I hit play...

### 1/5 — Here’s the deal...

*2019-03-18, version 1.9.5*

This game is very fun if it was FAIR! What they do is give more ships to higher level players when the game starts. Since this game is essentially a numbers game as to who will dominate a disputed planet then it is essentially an UNFAIR to anyone who is a higher level. I’ve been totally turned off to this game but I still want to play this type of game. I found another similar game that is not unfair in how they set it up. It’s called Auralux or Auralux 2. I suggest not even downloading this game and going through the disappointment and just look up those other games

### 1/5 — No good compared to the original

*2019-01-28, version 1.9.5*

You can’t play against the machine, you can’t select a level, it just throws you into playing against other players and VERY quickly becomes way more difficult

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best game ever.

*2023-11-22, version 1.9.5*

Macht Spaß und ist Spannend.

### 5/5 — Those were the times!

### 5/5 — 面白すぎます

*2022-09-16, version 1.9.5*

ランダムなマップが読み込まれるので全く飽きません！

### 5/5 — Update when?

*2022-01-06, version 1.9.5*

Such a great game! Update to modern devices when?

### 5/5 — Great game!

*2021-06-14, version 1.9.5*

I had the original game on my first phone! This game feels just like the first with more features and new things to get!!!

### 5/5 — Brutal

*2021-02-20, version 1.9.5*

Recomendadisimo, jugué hace años al galcon 1 y es super adictivo. Esta va en su linea. Recomendable 100%

### 5/5 — Fun fast paced strategy game

*2020-12-16, version 1.9.5*

Been playing this on and off for years. Really enjoy it.

### 5/5 — Great game but dead

*2020-11-23, version 1.9.5*

Its dead.

### 5/5 — Really Improved

*2020-08-31, version 1.9.5*

The game has been out for a minute and has come a very long ways in that time. It’s developed into a friendly and open community that are just there to play and have fun with each other(for the most part.) the actually gameplay is mostly about quick reflexes and counting. Fantastic for twitchy gamers. The game is completely free to play with no real incentive to spend money other than to support the dev.... team? Idk ask Phil. Only downside is currently you have to make a minimum purchase in order to use chat, which makes it hard for new players to start and get help if it’s needed.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2020-08-02, version 1.9.5*

Wonderful strategy game! I've been playing for quite some time now, and I have no complaints. Many different modes, and the small player base makes you connect with the other players. It can be quite intense and relaxing at the same time.

Highly recommended,
Dadestroye
