### 3/5 — Good start

*2026-05-04, version 2.6*

The app seems to follow the alphabetic rules but lacks the artistic flair seen in hand drawn solutions.

### 4/5 — Good app however small word limit

*2024-11-11, version 2.5.4*

Great app works however there is a 15 word limit which can be frustrating.

### 4/5 — Cute novelty

*2024-09-19, version 2.5.4*

Overall, I like it.
However, it doesn’t work with longer sentences.
Please increase the character limit.

### 3/5 — traduction inverse ?

*2023-10-28*

Dommage que la traduction inverse ne soit pas possible.

### 4/5 — Great App

*2023-10-04, version 2.5.4*

I just wish you could put in hex codes for the color of the text and background!

### 3/5 — Fix “Sh”

*2020-10-22, version 2.5.2*

Hello! I love the app, but it could really be nice if it had the “sh”

### 4/5 — Confused a wee bit

*2020-03-28, version 2.5*

The app is easy to use, I’m just confused on the version of Gallifreyan being used in this app, compared to some other ones. Over all really good.

### 4/5 — I’m missing the Doctor and then I see...

*2019-08-26, version 2.4.3*

... a bumper sticker in Gallifreyan as my spouse & I walked back to our car after seeing a movie. He was amused when I identified it as Gallifreyan. He asked me if I knew what it said, and I said, “I will after I translate it.” I snapped a photo and off I go.

### 4/5 — Suggestion

*2019-02-04, version 2.3.2*

So, I have a thing and I don’t know how to translate it to English. What would be really cool would be if you could take a picture of Gallifreyan and then it translates to English?

### 4/5 — A tidy little translator.

*2017-12-24, version 2.1.6*

This is a nice little app, easy to use and priced well. In future versions I’d like to see longer words supported so that Gallifreyan names could be written. The capacity to preview the bundled background images prior to selection would also be nice. (They currently display only as very vague colours to me). Shares well, looks good. Recommended for Gallifreyans of all ages. ❤️❤️

### 4/5 — Für echte Nerds

*2017-10-06*

Ein missgünstig jeden Whovian und eine ganz lustige Sache...
Leider kann man keine Bilder Einscannen und zurück übersetzen lassen.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2017-08-31, version 2.1.4*

I LOVE this!

### 4/5 — Editable would earn that last star

*2017-08-19, version 2.1.4*

I realise it implies a LOT MORE coding, but editing the initial output would be grand!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2024-02-01, version 2.5.4*

This app gives a basic outline of the Gallifreyian letters but none of the connecting lines. Wish I could give it zero stars and get my money back.

### 1/5 — Refund.

*2021-09-22, version 2.5.4*

The app is nothing special. Wish I could get a refund. The app I had on my android was way better. Sigh

### 1/5 — Okay but has errors

*2020-09-12, version 2.5.2*

It doesn’t translate the double letter sounds like Sh or Wh and in words that start with those letters it won’t even use the singular version, it just leaves them out. I discovered this while designing a tattoo and I’m glad I caught the mistake before it was permanent.

### 1/5 — Fun, but wrong

*2018-08-16, version 2.3.2*

Really upset I ended up spending money on this app. Was super excited to find an app to translate words. But after looking at multiple sources online, the translations are completely wrong. Really love the idea, but not worth paying for something that’s wrong.

### 1/5 — Photos

*2016-09-24, version 2.0.4*

I have a photo I want to decipher and I click on add photo and it does not add it I want my money back

### 1/5 — Not what you'd expect

*2016-06-23, version 2.0.3*

First of all, I'd really like the app to allow me to do my own circles and lines and dots and what not... Secondly the word circles are all very individual... It really doesn't look great

### 2/5 — One one way to create

*2025-02-11, version 2.5.4*

Only circular sentence structure with one word per circle. Now way to create a line or one circle sentences. A bit annoying and not worth $3 for such limited options. Probably better free apps.

### 2/5 — Not worth my money

*2018-11-30, version 2.3.2*

It doesn’t know some of the letters. Like the “sh” it doesn’t read it at all. Seriously it’s not the best. I can do better writing it myself. You should charge 99¢ or fix the problems.

### 2/5 — Not worth $2.99 but could be

*2018-10-27, version 2.3.2*

I love being able to look at words and phrases, but I was hoping for something that actually connected the words/sentence into an actual design, like show in the language guide included with the app. Instead I just get a bunch of circles inside of a circle. It’s a good start but I wish I hadn’t spent the money for it.

### 2/5 — Good start

*2015-01-30, version 1.3*

Definitely props for being the first Gallifreyan translator app. However, there are a few basic flaws congruent with the website this app is associated with. First, there should be lines that go out from the circles representing each word to the larger circle around the phrase. Second, while it is possible to upload your own white background, a plain white should be part of the app's included background options. Also, when only one word is translated, the outer circle still shows as if a phrase were present. This outer circle should not be there when only one word is present. In addition to more/better background choices, you need to be able to choose the color of the Gallifreyan "text." For a paid app, this should me more refined than it is. It feels very primitive. But again, I am glad someone is finally making an attempt at this and I expect the things I mentioned will be fixed in future updates :)

### 5/5 — Great!

*2020-07-24, version 2.5.2*

This is a really nice app which you can use to translate anything into gallifreyan, from any language. I tried many different thing and everything works. The best thing is that it has a rule, which I am starting to learn. An A for example is a round on the outside of the big circle. Each letter has something like this, and this way, it is possible to learn gallifreyan. Then there is a nice AR feature and you can share your translations with people. It would be nice if a decoder were included, this way I wouldn’t have to type in every letter to see what it is. It is a little pricey as well, but well worth it, especially for any doctor who can like me.

### 5/5 — Fun and entertaining

*2019-10-04, version 2.4.3*

Get a kick out of all the words I am learning in Gallifreyan

### 5/5 — Great fun

### 5/5 — The Doctor

*2017-09-13, version 2.1.4*

I love this app! I can finally say what I want in the language of my home planet, Gallifrey 😎🌎
