### 5/5 — Good game

*2022-08-17, version 2.0*

I really like this game as a time waster to use on car rides and the like so I definitely recommend it, it doesn’t take to long for the story to start picking up and whenever you make the right choices it rewards you well but when you make the wrong choice it can scare you a bit but you aren’t going to start all the way over with just a few mistakes so I really like it.

### 5/5 — First type of game

*2022-08-14, version 2.0*

This is the first story telling game I’ve played and it seems to really be strict which is nice I can’t buy things whenever save whenever ect listening to your strengths and what your team comp is has really helped

### 5/5 — Didn’t expect it to be this good

*2022-07-20, version 2.0*

After the first episode I was hooked even though this was my first real text adventure game. I will say that a lot of the choices seem inconsequential as they just kill you if you get it wrong, but besides that it is very fun and well written. Definitely worth the 5 star rating.

### 5/5 — Gripping!

*2022-06-14*

Excellent narrative! Don’t have to pay to play. Although at this point I will pay for that final chapter. Damien Black, name your price

### 5/5 — Great story!

*2022-06-07, version 2.0*

Although I didn’t make it far into the story I really enjoy the writing and characters in it, it’s a great way to pass the time and a good choice for those who like text based rpgs.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2022-04-13*

the game is great, I hope they can finish this

### 5/5 — A must for fantasy fans

*2022-04-08, version 2.0*

The story, lore and characters are all very well written. This is the most fun I’ve had with a mobile game in a really long time. Hope more chapters get released soon!

### 5/5 — good job Damien

*2022-04-04, version 2.0*

The world you’re able to put together with all of its lore is outstanding. Keep doing what you’re doing. I’m looking forward to chapter 8

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2022-03-20*

Immersive story, well written, a very good game

### 5/5 — Cool story, and lots of options

*2022-03-02, version 2.0*

In the first chapter if gives you plenty of options to get your character played out and ready for the time ahead, in my honest opinion it has great art style, amazing screen play, and even an even better story behind it. I love it, and it’s got to be one of the best Text based RPG’s out on mobile.

### 5/5 — Great TYOA

*2022-02-15*

Great TYOA - good story pace and world building with map helps

### 5/5 — And I hate reading lol

*2022-02-05, version 2.0*

The story is really ineriguinging soo far. The story set to unlock an adventure worth embarking on. Honestly cant wait to play more. Hope more games take on this format.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2022-01-23*

great game but im pretty sure the devs just stopped working on it cause there wasn’t an update for a year

### 5/5 — Choose your own adventure book style!

*2022-01-08, version 2.0*

This reminds me of the choose your own adventure books that I used to read when I was a youngster. The ‘Lone Wolf’ series comes to mind.
Overall, this is just fantastic! If you like CYOA books, look no further than this.

### 5/5 — So far it’s great.

*2022-01-02*

I’ve only just started the experience but so far it’s great. I love these text-based games because their so easy to pick up and put down, and they take huge amounts of room on my phone.
Story seems good so far; hoping it lasts!

### 5/5 — Super!

*2021-11-05, version 2.0*

This is a very well written/crafted text based medieval fantasy choose your own adventure. For those times you don’t have Wifi and feel like delving into another skin in another world.

### 5/5 — Fascinating game and lots of fun

*2021-10-22*

This game takes a “choose your own adventure” book, mixes it with some decent stat management gameplay and matches it with a DnD level story. My only point of notice is when the next chapter comes out?

### 5/5 — Only thing I would change

*2021-09-03, version 2.0*

I love it so far just finished the first chapter only thing I would change is letting the gamer pick more of the back story of the hero

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 2/5 — I didn’t receive what I paid for x2

*2020-11-09*

I am enjoying the game but I was disappointed because, unfortunately, I paid for two bags of 199 shards(0.99) and I was not awarded anything :(

**Developer response:** Sorry to hear, although this haven't happened yet to anyone, it's theoretically possible. Send me an e-mail to renato@humbletoymaker.com and we're going to sort it out! :-)

### 3/5 — Very kek

*2020-06-27*

10/10 feels like a rpg made by a triple A studio all the adventure and action without any grind whatsoever ( played this when I was high it’s not actually as good as I remembered still very fun though needs a few minor tweaks and quality of life changes)

### 4/5 — Enjoying the game so far

*2022-09-13, version 2.0*

I haven’t reached to Florence to the game. Our, I was loving the story. The only issue I’m facing is the while using voiceover on the iPhone, I can’t figure out what my stats are in terms of his points or anything else. All I can hear or random numbers and that’s it! furthermore, I’m not sure what are the numbers behind some of the choices are exactly.

### 4/5 — A fun, if confusing, text based adventure.

*2021-12-12, version 2.0*

A fun, choose-your-own-adventure styled text game. I personally enjoyed the story so far, though I won’t claim that it will enthrall everyone. The story is affected by your decisions, but many of these don’t feel impactful to your progression, while others still appear as very blatant choices, or non-intuitive. Overall, a solid experience, with a few shortcomings that prevent me from giving it five stars.

### 4/5 — Can’t wait for the next chapters

*2021-06-17, version 2.0*

The author has put a lot of time and effort into the game , text is a bit hard to read at first (dialog should be written on a new row) also I didn’t like that you can’t create your character and chose the background other then that it’s pretty interesting, waiting for the next chapters ...

### 4/5 — Simple and fun, fairly classic

*2021-03-17, version 2.0*

Just reached the first check point. It’s made well and the approach and plot are fairly straight forward and effective.

However, I would have at least liked a choice of gender or some character customization options, rather than just being a great swordsman

### 4/5 — Story’s interesting but a save/load bug kills momentum

*2021-02-21, version 2.0*

Started it, enjoyed it, and was impressed by the writing. Reminds me of the old school choose your own adventure books back in elementary school. Characters are ok. I don’t like how we don’t get to create or get a blank slate character. Thrusting us into a character suddenly without build up or backstory really makes me dislike the MC. My big problem was when I encountered a small bug with the save/load screen. The game has the keyboard pop up but it blocks the actual area to type so we can’t actually copy/paste in it.

### 4/5 — Great Game But

*2020-09-22, version 2.0*

I really like this game. Interesting story. I just wish you had the ability to remove the bad language. I stopped playing because of it. I would start playing again and give it five stars if there was an option to get rid of the bad language.

### 4/5 — Really enjoyable and very charming

*2020-09-18, version 2.0*

It feels like most of the choices I make have some weight to them and make the story play out a little differently (yes, I have died a few times). The only thing, in my opinion, that could make the game better would be a few more choices when we are given a choice to make.

### 4/5 — Quite enjoyable

*2020-07-11*

Well written and balanced, no waiting times so far! (Only the first chapter though)

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Game

*2024-01-23*

Very enjoyable love this game

### 5/5 — Great story

*2023-12-27*

What can I say it’s a very enjoyable story with lots of options currently 3 chapters in and I’m hooked

### 5/5 — Thoughtful & considered CYOA.

*2023-07-19*

Great story, with excellent flow and pace between decisions that really matter and continuations on the journey.

The consequences of the decisions make sense and don’t feel like a coin-flip. The text provides ample clues on some of the wiser choices, which meant I studied and considered the decision points thoughtfully.

The game’s scoring system creates a strong incentive for replays as you look to increase your score next time.

My only critique is the hero commits some casual sexual assault, which is just normalised as a line of two in the text, unnecessary for the story, and doesn’t feel like it is in keeping with the character.

### 5/5 — A really well written text adventure

*2023-06-03*

Not much else to say. Some replay ability as you can make different decisions. Free to it gives many hours of entertainment. Would recommend.

### 5/5 — ?Malware? Great game aside from this!

*2023-05-26*

I played this game a while ago, it was last updated two years ago, but I still played after or right around the time of the last update, being in late 2021 and this wasn’t a thing. There’s only one other review that mentions it but it says “Update available” then something about your screen briefly flashing and then the update will be complete or something. Feels fishy, and there’s no other button besides for a continue button, can’t get out of it and engage with the game. I wanted to press continue with my vpn active or airplane mode on but was still too sussed out.

### 5/5 — Reading

*2023-02-18*

If you don’t mind reading a lot then this game is a must play. So far the story has been very cultivating. One thing that can be improved upon is the lack of picture or background music. Some background music that can match the scene would help make the game be more immersive.

### 5/5 — Well written

*2023-02-11*

Well written and enjoyable, well worth trying if this is your thing. 5 stars from me and thanks to the author :-)

### 5/5 — Top adventure book rpg

*2023-01-14*

One of the best books of this type on the app store :)

### 5/5 — A true diamond in the rough, this is how you make a game!

*2022-12-01, version 2.0*

This game takes me back to my childhood, sitting down with a nook and reading at night.

Things to note:

There is a “premium” version, but all this does is make it a little easier. You can play all the chapters for free!

A story for the ages, if there was a hard copy I would by it!

Cons:

Some foul language and suggestive themes
(That’s it, that’s the only “bad” thing about this)

If you’re laying in bed sick, and you’re looking for a calm way to pass the time, this is your saving grace!

### 5/5 — Nothing like it!!!

*2022-08-24, version 2.0*

I have not played a game like this before on mobile. The story is great and I really feel connected to the main hero. Highly recommend this game!!
