### 4/5 — Very playable

*2022-10-23, version 2.0.11*

The game is one of the best I’ve played up to a point. Once you get to about level 60 it is extremely difficult and time-consuming to advance. It becomes boring and there’s nothing more to it than fighting a few battles and powering up one of your heroes. Also, it’s very tough to take advantage of any region except for the North. You get great bonuses by having several members of a specific house or region, but creating a party of mostly Targaryens or Baratheons for example is nearly impossible without spending money on micro transactions. Lots of fun for about a month, but a tedious bore from there.

### 4/5 — Looking forward to the update

*2022-07-29, version 1.11.3*

I loved the game when I first started playing. For a while it seemed like the developers abandoned it. However, they just posted that a huge new update is coming this year with a lot of new changes that I think will revamp the whole game. I am really excited to see what is to come. Until then…I am still a faithful player. Wish they also update at least one of their social media platforms regularly so we know what is to come each week or at least each month as well.

### 4/5 — Fun game, losing steam

*2022-07-21, version 1.11.3*

Game is very fun to play at first — good strategy, not hack and slash, hard but achievable with patience, and doesn’t require in app purchases to be fun. But they have focused on improving the graphics rather than the play, so it gets very repetitive after a while — story isn’t even finished, multiple versions of the same characters, very little creativity, and so particularly once you level up there’s nothing interesting to do. Game play has few glitches and works well on a phone or tablet, but developers seem to have quit trying to add new features.

### 4/5 — Hearing while talking

*2021-11-15, version 1.11.3*

Would be nice if while watching cut scenes when they’re talking, we would be able to hear what it is they’re saying. There are going to be some people who play this game that are hearing impaired or having issues at the time with their hearing whether it’s because they’re sick or something. Other than that I love this game!!!!!

### 3/5 — Fun but not fun

*2020-09-06, version 1.5.0*

The game is fun, you can clear your dailies fairly quick. I love the GOT series and turn based strategy games, so this game really hit the spot. The loss of two stars is from the progression system and the exceedingly over priced store. If you start out leveling a few characters but somehow random the star upgrade to gold or ++ in another it will take weeks of grinding the materials to upgrade the new characters even into low levels. If I was end game, great, but I’m no where close to that stage. Novice badges should NOT be this rare or the upgrades should be less for novice because they’re all for the lower level characters. The store is so overprice it’s insane and I almost deleted the game today just looking at the prices. If I leave this game, it’s because of the high market prices... The subscription is seriously $5 a week!! It’s 2x-4x more than it should be and you barely get anything for it.

### 3/5 — Glitchy boss event, downtime riddled

*2020-06-09, version 1.2.0*

The game has a lot of problems lately. For weeks people have complained about the boss event, which ends prematurely for too many of us, even when we don’t have other people in our groups.

Players can cancel out of groups if they see more players appear, hurting the chance of high score for those who stay in the group, while allowing the leaving player to re-start and repeat the process.

Many modes allow you to restart and play over, including arena, and boss attack, which makes the modes silly. In sum, these features diminish the game to a mere farming tamagochi app.

By about level 40, the soft pay wall gets more apparent, as leveling characters takes longer and longer, and the gratification of promotion and acquisition becomes rare.

Even then, when you pay, problems will persist, like downtime, or game crashing (when you leave ranging and go back to ranging). The devs don’t compensate much for downtime, so keep it in mind before you pay real money.

### 4/5 — Play with multiple heroes?

*2020-04-15, version 1.0.3*

Hello,
So overall I enjoy this game, especially since I was able to get my fav character pretty much immediately. I like the gameplay because it reminds me of the Fire Emblem games. I understand why only certain characters are playable in the story as it is supposed to be a prequel I think but I don’t understand why only one hero is allowed to be used. My idea of a dream team is several characters I like, not one character I like and 3 randos, ya know? Anyway, all I am saying is maybe there could be a new feature in a later update that allows multiple heroes to be used in one match. That is all and thank you.

### 3/5 — Average game

*2020-04-12, version 1.0.3*

It’s an okay game. Takes quite a few liberties but fans of the show might be willing to accept them. My biggest complaint is about the leveling system. I’ve played everyday since launch (3 weeks ago) and when I level my characters and upgrade their abilities, they don’t seem to do more damage. The numbers in battle are higher, but the health bars deplete at the same rate. Also, the numbers that are shown seem random because they don’t correspond to the actual health being lost by enemies. Maybe it’s a bug or something, but until it’s acknowledged I probably won’t play as much because it’s like I’m doing it for nothing.

### 5/5 — Started smooth

*2020-04-11, version 1.0.3*

I’ve been playing since it came out and it’s been great. But after the last update the game keeps freezing and dropping off altogether. I really want to play but these interruptions are keeping me from it. Please fix it because it is an incredible game.

### 3/5 — It was fun, until...

*2020-04-10, version 1.0.3*

So, off the bat I progressed nicely. Rather than rushing through the story arc I took my time, farming up the components to upgrade my main troops in the barracks, especially their gear. As a result I managed to get my top three troops to gold or higher, but where I run into issues is leveling them up. Novice insignia are just way too slow to acquire! I have like 50 veteran insignia saved up that I can’t use because I can’t get novice insignia fast enough. This makes no sense. As a result I’m now stuck in chapter 6, I believe. My troops are stuck at level 40 and will be for a long time until I can save up enough novice insignia. Meanwhile I can make it into the top 500 or better in hero arena so I know I’m not that weak respectively, I had a 30+ win streak last season. As it is I’ve grown bored with the ridiculous grind to accumulate the lowest value component for upgrading my troops, the silly novice insignia. You should at least be guaranteed those on weirwood runs, and drop rates are abysmal. Fun game, but as I powered through til now it feels like a paywall, so I’ll be not playing until I see some balancing changes. Uninstalled until a later date, sadly. Fun game for a few weeks though, if you fixed the novice insignia drop rates the rest would be fine, but as that’s a crucial game element you get three stars. Thanks for the good time til now though!

### 5/5 — If you like strategy this is your game

*2020-04-03, version 1.0.2*

Highly strategic game, lots of different game modes to keep you entertained. Still a new game so I’m assuming the guild/alliance aspect is on the way. Besides that it’s also friendly for F2P which is a huge bonus. That and it’s a game of thrones RPG, what’s better than that lol. If your sick of paying to keep up with MSF and it’s constant onslaught of new characters you have to pay for, try this out. Players use to MSF and SWGOH will be use to the game play format for the most part but the big difference here is the battle maps. Each battle takes place on a different map with a limited amount of movement spaces (some units shoot more than 1 square like archers and some move many squares like horsemen). This makes for very interesting battles that force players to have to use their brains (not their wallets) to win the battle.

### 4/5 — Not so good

*2020-03-31, version 1.0.2*

Developers, look at DC Legends or Marvel Strike Force or evening the newly released Disney Arena for a good turn based mobile video game. The gameplay is simple and predictable, after 30 minutes you can auto play all modes. The story is awful and the music and voice overs are cheese whiz. Come on fellas, did you not get enough $$ from this franchise to create a real mobile game? This is a joke. Seriously.

### 5/5 — Perfect Timing. Good game.

*2020-03-30, version 1.0.2*

Corona-tined at home. Installed on day one. Perfect time to pickup a new mobile game while I wait on queues or travel time on WoW. I play SWGOH religiously and this is right up my alley. I can’t wait to see the rest of the game as I finish leveling. Please continue to release new content/characters asap. Spending about $5/ day on this game and I rarely spend on freemium mobile games as a monthly WoW subscriber/Blizzard gamer.

### 3/5 — Covid 19.. have a heart

*2020-03-28, version 1.0.2*

We’re all trapped inside. We want to play this game. I’ve played each day. You can’t get through 3rd story without paying. You’re giving away BREAD for side missions. Be better people and up the rewards for completing all the grind work so if we put in the time we can at least make it through a little further. Jeeze. Have a heart or at least respect for those grinding during our time trapped inside.

We want to play. We want to contribute. We’ll pay something but without reward for time spent, this feels heartless.

People will pay to finish. We won’t pay to get over the hump.

### 3/5 — Needs some work but...

*2020-03-28, version 1.0.2*

The game is good and it’s NOT a cash grab just need to play, they give free bread/energy between 12:00 and 14:00 and 18:00 and 20:00 and you can play the random missions that show up on the map to get free bread/energy but it can be a bit Grindy I’m level 26 and I hope it doesn’t get bad I’ve yet to crash so that’s a good thing, but I hope that you guys get creative with this game because I would hate to see it die for me I’m a huge Game of Thrones fan. DONT MESS THIS UP. Also gave 3 STARS because there’s not much here right now I will be changing my review after updates.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs updating

*2022-03-07, version 1.11.3*

On the last day of the “season” with Hero Arena, I’m unable to play once there are less than 4 hours on the countdown. There’s also an issue with the sparring ground, where it won’t let you collect the reward at the end of each “season” because it is saying you didn’t participate. When reading the information on sparring ground, it says in order to participate you have to play at least one level. I play at least one level of sparring ground every day in order to collect my daily rewards. With that being said, it’s been months since you’ve been made aware of these issues, but I’m yet to see them fixed.

### 1/5 — ???????

*2020-08-10, version 1.5.0*

Game is garbage it has been 5 months and all the same bugs and issues are still here. They have greatly improved the micro transaction parts of the game because that’s what’s important right!? They devs have no plans to fix this game and how do I know because it’s been 5 months and they haven’t fixed anything.
I started playing this game the day it came out and really wanted to Like it. I think it would of been better being just a basic idle rpg. I don’t think the devs working on this are very talented and this rpg is to much for them. It’s to complicated lol. But anyways I wouldn’t bother.

### 1/5 — Underwhelming, game lacks polish

*2020-03-30, version 1.0.2*

We waited an extra 10 months for the release of this game... in the hopes the game they delivered would be polished. I'm underwhelmed.

The "story" so far is near garbage. No voice over acting, terrible dialogue, no plot movement. Why even have cut scenes for this drivel? Where's the lore? I was hoping for an in-depth look at Wildlings/Free Folk that followed the lore of the books/show. Nope. This is all made up garbage.

Arena is a joke. Wait a turn for the terrible AI to waltz forward, and win. I'm bored. They need to implement a better pvp system, one where players can queue up & fight in real time.

There’s little to no variety of units. Everyone uses the same team. Boring. Most of the “heroes” are made up. You can play Dany & Jon Snow. That’s it.

Chat? Guilds? Nope. There's absolutely no social element to this game.

Love the art and the concept... the potential is there, but man... I had expected better. Don’t bother with this one.

### 1/5 — TERRIBLE

*2020-03-26, version 1.0.2*

Right from the first scene it shows how terrible this game is. No voice acting, no quick dialogue skip to get things going (it’s boring), in combat there is no meat no real feel that you landing powerful strikes. There really isn’t any sound to it and the animation makes is lack luster which piles on to the whole meat point. Overall I couldn’t stand more than 5 mins of a quick cash grab game based on a popular title with little work out into it. There are multiple games out there that do way better than this. Final fantasy (just came out) and fire emblem to name a few.

### 1/5 — Very little good about this game

*2020-03-26, version 1.0.2*

I was pretty excited for this game preordered and everything. Then I played it. Character models are terrible they barely even resemble their real life counterparts. The fighting is so boring I just keep pressing auto cause it’s that boring and requires no strategy. I play games like marvel strike force and thought it would be cool to have a GOT version of that. That is not what this is. I was disappointed I couldn’t even use to “heroes” at the same time. Just a complete let down. There is nothing even exciting about the characters that makes me want to collect them. I will keep playing every now and then just in hopes they either make it better or maybe this early review was too early but if something doesn’t change I’ll be dropping this game quick . So far it’s been nothing but an uninspired waste of time oh and the cutscenes and story are pretty terrible as well sooooo boring .

### 1/5 — Beyond the Pay Wall

*2020-03-26, version 1.0.2*

This game lets you build up through a certain Chapter and gives you some basic characters to spend your finite resources on, until you encounter a boss who one shots your characters, with about double the HP your characters can deal after having maxed them out with all of your resources.
.
The only way to continue at this point is to pay money, and from the looks of it, even paying a lot of money really won’t get you much further.
.
If you’re interested in this style game play one of the collectible card games that rhymes with Langmisser

### 1/5 — Not really worth the download

*2020-03-26, version 1.0.2*

As a huge GRRM fan, I was excited to see a game beginning before the book series. Preregistered download, got a few things but nothing really worthwhile.
Game crashes, but I chalked it up to numerous players on probably a single server.
Difficult to really upgrade, you could be grinding for a while, so be prepared. Summoning system pretty typical for games nowadays.
Really pushing the pay to play with this. Even though it may not seem like it, midway through the second chapter you get stuck. So either grind it out to upgrade (which I normally really like to do), or hand over the cash.
Animation and sound(music) are very subpar. This is a strategy/turned based game, where the key is strategy to get past the tougher opponents. But they have the ever present auto function. Which completely defeats the purpose. Auto select to pick troops, auto run challenges, really makes it eye rolling.
The storyline is ok(not horrible, but definitely not great).
But the things that are going to make me uninstall are the pay to play, auto run features, and lack of good sound/music). It was fun for the first hour or so, but after that the game really lost my interest. As I mentioned before I’m a huge GRRM fan, but they really took liberties and missed out on a lot they could have put in this game.
In conclusion, I can only give one star, it’s ok for the first hour or two or three, but after the game is not as enjoyable as we were led to believe.

### 1/5 — Pay to win

*2020-03-25, version 1.0.2*

This game becomes to hard so fast after chapter one. I’m guessing all the paid bundles and cash grabs must be bought in order to do well. Everyone look else’s where. They try to hit your wallet and it’s not worth with these bad graphics. Everything’s shards is kind of bull. With a very low low odds for a gold character. This game was made not to be played long if you notice you can switch servers, this is what makes it stupid and more of a cash grab like you not doing to hot. Well go switch servers to a new one and spend money and you could be top one in that server instead. Games with more than one server made for your region makes me sick of this crap. People have more fun in a big server vs cash grab small ones. I get it that it would make you money for big money spenders that would server hope but lose people because servers during. Government needs to put a law against cash grabs that will try to scam people out of money. At least the updated gambling laws a coming soon.

### 2/5 — The game isn’t as good as you think

*2020-09-19, version 1.5.0*

The game became slow with boring game content that requires to much of your time. But the worst part that bugged me from the start is that you can’t work towards unlock barrack characters you don’t have. You can only get them by drawing cards. Well I started playing about a month after it came out and retired last week and was still missing one character. It’s the biggest flaw in the game and don’t ever retire and on them because you lose them and never know when you’ll get them back. Thankfully I never retired any of mine, that was and is the stupidest option in a game I’ve ever seen. You need well over 2hrs a day to do a lot of repetitive crap. They are alway releasing new characters but extremely slow with game content. It also became harder and harder to build the few characters that were worth the resources which further slowed things down and added to the growing boredom. I’ve waited a few days before writing this so I could compose a solid review and I don’t miss the game one bit. The developers are not the best. Enjoy the game if you’re new but just know it wont last so don’t waste any money, it’s not needed

### 2/5 — So-so game under a famous IP

*2020-03-28, version 1.0.2*

It is just another so-so game under a famous IP. From the beginning of the game, from the cinematic, you can feel the team wants to replicate the TV-show like experience. But with the pure text, no voice over and terrible background music, the game immediately feels cheap. The stories before and after each level in story mode are dry, after a couple ones later, I skip all of them in the later game. It just wasting time.

The battle is fairly simple, you don’t need to think too much. As long as your troops are strong, you can win with auto play. The sub systems are plentiful as this type of games should be. The troops and heroes upgrade options are also quite rich, but more or less are same and very linear. The resource sink of each upgrade options are deep, all well designed for asking for money from players.

Overall, this game is poorly made. And the goal is very clear, try to squeeze as much money as possible from the fans as possible.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great game however

*2022-10-14, version 2.0.11*

This is an amazing game and I like the challenge of grinding to make actual progress however I wish there were more characters, arya, the hound, Brianne of Tarth, the mountain, Brann, grey worm , little finger, tirion, Stannis. There are so many characters and more y’all could add, overall though great game just add more characters 👍🏻👍🏻

### 5/5 — New Update is Everything I Wanted

*2022-09-08, version 1.12.0*

The game has definitely reinvented itself and became exactly what I wanted with the new update. I love it and hope the continued support brings new characters and features so this amazing game. Can’t wait to see what the future brings!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2022-07-20, version 1.11.3*

Lots of characters both familiar and unfamiliar each with different skills and abilities. Offers both individual play and multiplayer competition. I’ve been playing for over a year and still love it. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Beware the paywall!

*2021-08-21, version 1.11.3*

You go sailing along in the beginning getting all the goodies and little by little you sssslllloooowwwwwwwwwww wayyyyyyy doooooooooooowwwwwwwnnnnnn. I like this game as a distraction to my otherwise busy day, but I’m not going to spend real money in a pretend world: $50 for a bunch of PRETEND CRAP!!! With gas prices through the roof only kids using their parents’ discretionary funds will level up. So just expect that if you want to succeed at this game you WILL spend your own money to do so. Full stop. Other than that, it’s pretty cool.🤷🏻‍♀️

### 5/5 — Very enjoyable game

*2020-12-11, version 1.8.0*

I’ve been playing this game since the day it released and the developers have done a wonderful job of coming up with new units, scenarios, and gameplay modes.

The only one minor complaint I have is I would love to see more variety in the available heroes rather than three versions of Jon Snow or Jamie Lannister. It’d be nice to see some ancillary characters from the books and show like Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr, the Hound, Sir Duncan the Tall, etc. But still a great game.

### 5/5 — Great start!

*2020-10-24, version 1.7.0*

Only being out for a short bit of time. They have added a whole bunch of hero’s support units and content overall it shows they actually want to keep the game going. I wish they would add some other hero’s like Robb Stark instead of duplicates. However, I’m excited to see where they take the game!

### 5/5 — Best new game I've seen in a while!

*2020-08-03, version 1.4.0*

I came across this game a few days after it released. I've enjoyed it fully from the very beginning! They continue to add new features like battalions, and the legendary challenges are switched up often. I also like that the legendary challenges give you new heroes for free.

I've seen other people complain about having to spend money, but I haven't spent a dollar and haven't had any issues. You just have to be willing to grind a little harder in the game, and you can get everything you need free.

### 5/5 — 1st day, fun but NO ladies

*2020-05-15, version 1.1.0*

3rd r3view: may 15 20 we finally get to win a red head girl as 3rd female in game but still Can’t get the females, it’s 97% male characters & 3% female tease with (0) Zero chances of getting any female characters unless we pay.! We can’t get the blonde with the dragon unless we pay for it ? 2nd review: yup it’s actually 100% male characters & zero chance of getting the only 2 girls they have, a blonde or brunette, which we Have to buy. We can only purchase the female characters so We’ll Stop playing for a month to see if it changes & I’ll play iron throne instead. We got a free dragon, female characters right away plus second characters in 2 seconds. Thanks for making my choice.*

### 5/5 — Please respond I need to know!

*2020-04-22, version 1.0.5*

Love the game a lot! Really enjoy it a lot! Just wondering if you are gonna bring in a lot of knew heroes. I would recommend my favorite character in the Game of Thrones show Theon. Would love to see some of those characters in the game would make it 10x better!

### 5/5 — Needs a Multi Hero Game Mode

*2020-04-14, version 1.0.3*

Really enjoying this game so far, the gameplay itself is fun and I love that new hero characters such as king in the north Jon Snow and dragonstone Daenerys can be acquired and upgraded through challenges instead of being locked behind a pay wall like in similar games. I agree with other reviews that I’ve seen about some materials like novice insignias being hard to find but it hasn’t been a huge issue for me.

The only thing the game is missing that I would love to see added would be a mode where you can use multiple heroes at once, a huge part of what interested me about this game was assembling a team of my favorite game of thrones characters and battling with them so it’s a bummer when I have to leave favorites like Jon snow on the sideline while I use a random archer from the riverlands
