I bought this game to play against my sister, but we can’t play it together. I’m really NOT interested in playing against the computer. Sure, it’s only 1 dollar wasted, but it’s the principle that bothers me. Why program such a game to only be played against the computer? You should at least mention this limitation in the description. I only confirmed my suspicion after sifting through the reviews. I really don’t like posting 2-star reviews, but someone else had the same complaint 2 years ago without a resolution. Fix it, and I’ll sweeten my review and give it 5-stars. **Developer response:** Sorry if you are disappointed. We can work on a refund if you wish. Multiplayer support has been on my wish list since I wrote the app, even though I personally would never use it. ### 2/5 — no PvP *2025-05-17, version 1.5* No Player vs Player, just Player vs AI, and it isnt a proper IA, it is basically a choice that when you face a hard AI you’ll never see a 4. ### 2/5 — Needs ability to restart game and play 2 humans. *2020-06-09, version 1.3* Please enable playing human opponent and game reset. ### 3/5 — Pretty fun, but the Hard AI gets god-tier luck *2025-08-07* It's a pretty simple game, easy to learn and easy to wile away some time. It doesn't drain the battery much, either, which is nice. Easy difficulty is very easy, Medium is alright, Hard is extremely frustrating. It is very obvious that the computer's rolls are rigged. Once you move a piece one step outside of your staging area, if the computer had any pieces inside their staging area there is an 80% chance they will capture your piece, even if it requires two rolls to do it. Any time any of my pieces were within 4 steps ahead of the Hard AI's pieces it is almost guaranteed that piece will be captured immediately. Every win I have had against the Hard AI has felt like the game had just decided to give me a pity-win and never lets the Hard AI return their last piece. **Developer response:** Sorry to disappoint you, but the rolls are completely random, and the AI does not cheat in any way. I am planning an even harder level. ### 3/5 — Very Promising *2025-06-01* Fell in love with this game a few years ago but have yet to find anywhere online to play obviously I’ve only found one other app to play but it’s mediocre at best. I LOVE this app. I consider myself an ok player but as it is now since I’ve had this app for a year or so the score is app=5 Me=37. If I needed to complain it’s just a little easy and frustrating to win almost every time. Maybe I am that good hahaa. The app is incredible though. Hats off to whomever in charge of that!!! **Developer response:** Thanks for the review! I agree that even at the hard level, I can win too often. I plan on updating with an even harder level and online play. ### 3/5 — Not random, but otherwise great *2023-12-27* The dice are definitely -not- random! This is the most frustrating aspect of games like this, where the “difficulty” is determined by how badly the dice are loaded, not by the actual skill of the opponent. I don’t understand why developers choose to do this, but it’s the one thing I wish I could change. Otherwise, this app is great. **Developer response:** Sorry to remove that excuse, but the dice are definitely random! The game player has no knowledge of future rolls, etc. In short, the game is not cheating. I have looked at making better players since some people find even the highest setting too easy! ### 3/5 — Good-ish *2020-10-05* Nice graphics, good rules but too easy to win. ### 4/5 — Please add multiplayer *2023-11-04* The built is perfect and nice. If add multiplayer on same device or even better is through LAN would make it perfect. I am not expecting an online version though. **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. It's a flawless translation. The one thing I'd like to see is a way to reset the statistics. I played it on easy for 15 games and won them all, but it's retained that ratio when playing on a more difficult setting. Edit: the developer got back to me and is looking in to inproving scoring. Which is cool. I'm still playing it, have refined my strategies and it's still very fun. **Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. Hard mode is nice and challenging. Dear developer: I would happily buy an IAP for the advanced game using Finkel’s rules. **Developer response:** The game does use Finkel’s rules (unless I missed something). Please let me know what I missed. I have considered adding variants for other rules though. ### 5/5 — Decent app with couple of bugs *2022-12-30* This is a decent app. It’s cheap. It doesn’t collect data about you, advertise to you, or harass you for in-app purchases. It won’t let you start a new game on command, though. Also, it counts a win once at the end of a game and after closing the app and re-opening it starts a position from the end of the last game and counts another point for the winner. But for those drawbacks, I’d recommend it to friends. **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback and patience. I just released an update (version 1.5) which allows you to start a new game. To restart the game, drag one of your pieces in play back to its starting position on the left side. ### 5/5 — Very well done in every way *2021-02-16* I’m so glad I finally found a good version of Ur for my phone. I’ve tried others, and this is the best one for sure. The premium price is fair, no ads, no IAP, no tracking. It takes up almost no space and uses very little battery. The UI and design are really well done. And I love the “flick” option of flicking your opponent’s piece off the board if you want extra fun removing them, it somehow gives you extra satisfaction, it’s a small but playful option that adds a extra fun. Also, the dice rolls do seem totally random to me, like real dice, and not all apps are good at that. This one gets that right. The AI is good too, it seems balanced and smart. As a plus, the game saves your place when you close the app. Perfect for when you have to go back to work. Thank you developer for bringing this game to the phone so fairly and so beautifully.
