## What is Game?

Rise of Civilizations is a turn-based 4X strategy game spanning roughly 4000 BCE to 1550 CE. Choose a leader, found your first city, and guide your people from mud-brick settlements to a world power.

EXPLORE
Reveal a living hex world of plains, forests, deserts, rivers, coasts, and mountains. Discover tribal villages, barbarian camps, natural wonders, and the resources that fuel your empire.

EXPAND
Found cities, grow borders, improve tiles with farms and mines, and connect your realm with roads and trade routes. Each civilization brings a unique ability, unit, and infrastructure that changes how you play.

EXPLOIT
Research an original materials-based tech tree, from knapping and smelting to ironworking and exploration. Train melee, ranged, cavalry, naval, and siege units. Earn promotions, garrison cities, and build districts, wonders, and Great Works.

EXTERMINATE
Fight barbarian raiders and rival empires. Siege walled cities, bombard from range, and recruit Legendary heroes with signature powers that turn the tide of war.
