I like how you can get news stories and live WTMJ radio broadcasts. However, the push notifications with breaking news is kind of annoying and is pretty much click bait. I get why they do it for advertising reasons but as a user it can be really annoying when there is major player news. You suddenly get a notification with something like "Starting defensive lineman out for the game. Slide to find out who." This is really annoying when you slide and are taken to the app. You aren't taken to the story, you are taken to the headline that is nothing more than the text of the push notification. You then have to back out of that and go to the news section and find the story. This is impossible if you are lucky enough to be at the stadium and you have slow to no internet connectivity. ### 2/5 — Annoying *2013-12-23, version 4.9.3* The annoying part of this app downgrades the rating. The app provides nice notifications about important Packer news, but when you click through to the app, first an ad for Fleet Farm pops up that you have to "x" out of, then you're just dumped off at the app's main page. It doesn't point you to the story the alert referenced. Very annoying! ### 2/5 — Very disappointing *2013-10-06, version 4.7.0* I really wanted to like this app, but it's just not doing it for me. Sends annoying push notifications that don't actually tell me anything unless I find the story in the app. Unfortunately, the news section is annoying and difficult to navigate, thus I rarely find what I'm looking for. An app that makes navigating through articles difficult only adds to the frustration. This app has dropped the dates and times on articles, making it difficult to track articles read. When opened after a notification, one has to find the article. Time consuming! At one time, this app reliably gave news from more than one news outlet; not any more. I now get more diverse news quickly via other sources. ### 1/5 — Was Useful, Now not so much *2014-02-19, version 4.9.3* I am so frustrated. The app send a notification, then you try to find it and all you get is an ad screen that you can't close. That's it GOODBYE! This latest update has really taking a BIG step backwards. The News is very difficult to navigate. Why not just leave articles in chronological order and date and timestamp when they were posted? Maybe then when you send me a notification, I might actually be able to find it. I still haven't figured out some of the other features. They don't seem to work like I'd expect them to. Very disappointed. This app needs a major overhaul by your IT team. Get some usability architects involved. The more I use this app, the more frustrated I become. Trying to watch a video, the audio continues and the video changes from the video to various still pictures. Come on guys, let's get this fixed. ### 1/5 — WTMJ/Packers app *2013-11-05, version 4.7.3* I have had this app for several months now & have concluded that it is a terrible time waster, and not for the reasons you might assume. This app gives way too many useless notifications, sometimes 5 or more a day, & that number increases exponentially on game days. The vast majority of the notifications give no information. They might say something like "A player is injured, open the app to find out who". So, you dutifully open the app & are immediately confronted with a full screen ad. You close that & get to the main menu, (which usually has a bottom banner ad), so you click on the "News" button. You again have a banner ad at the bottom, then you scroll down to find the headline you are looking for (it may not be the 1st one). You find the headline, then notice there is a "Read More" button, so you click on that. You again have another ad large (which has a "Skip Ad" button that doesn't work), to scroll past, then you finally might find out who it is they are talking about, sometimes accompanied by a badly distorted photo. Once you find out your information, you back out of everything, only to have another notification shortly that causes this all to be repeated again. I am over it! This app gets deleted as soon as I finish this review. I'll get my news & other information from the real "Packers" app. ### 1/5 — Slow, too many ads, not enough content *2013-10-21, version 4.7.0* The push notifications are also misleading, as if you're actually going to get an article behind all this clicks and ads. It's usually a word or sentence and then some copied tweets. Please, I already have Twitter. ### 1/5 — New IT people needed *2013-10-13, version 4.7.0* Like all journal communications apps including game day blogs everything is clunky, slow and maddening. What a disservice it is to some great journalists and sports to have their work having to go through the online and app offerings. Time to find a much better consultant or dump your in house group and start over. Obamacare website is a step up from gameday and it is late and doesn't work.
