### 2/5 — Underwhelming

*2024-12-08, version 1.3.1*

After years of waiting the TLDR is this: this took way too long and severely under delivered. There is nothing useful about it. It adds nothing to the experience of using Gamefound.

I’m glad to see they’re growing (maybe - more on that at the bottom) but I feel the latest updates are throwing way too much content at you with no ability to clearly filter, interpret or understand the content. The app, like the website, is a total mess. It used to be a clean user friendly experience but as a very enthusiastic early adopter and frequent user of Gamefound I’m very disappointed by what I’m seeing from them lately. The worst part is they seem to think these updates are good and giving users what they want which is even more concerning. Makes me wonder if the investment in the platform is worth it or if it’s time to start boycotting projects in hopes it gets the platform’s attention.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Constant Crashes

*2026-03-30, version 1.3.2*

This app can’t go more than 5-6 minutes without crashing out and closing. Absolute junk.

### 1/5 — App broken after working for a while

*2026-03-29, version 1.3.2*

No longer loads

### 1/5 — Too Slow

*2025-02-24, version 1.3.2*

Takes too long on initial launch before it shows anything, and too long after login before it gets to a functional state. The website is a much better experience.

### 1/5 — Needs work

*2025-02-21, version 1.3.2*

I eagerly waited for the Gamefound app and considering how long it took them I was definitely expecting a better conceived product.

Whenever I click on notifications for something the app just goes to a white screen and I have to close it, losing the ability to go to the notification I wanted to see bc obviously it disappears from notifications after you’ve clicked it.

There’s no ability to zoom
So good luck if a pledge has a graphics with small writing…

I have to relaunch the app every single time I try to go into after I’ve launched it once before as well.

Not off to a great start.

### 1/5 — Takes FOREVER to load any pages

*2024-12-09, version 1.3.1*

And no the issues are not on my end. I have a strong Internet connection and everything else works fine it’s just this app. You need to optimize your queries or your connections or something.

Deleting for now. Browser works better

### 1/5 — Just a website

*2024-12-07, version 1.3.1*

The app seems to provide same user experience as the website. Save your time and simple save the website in your favourite toolbar

### 1/5 — Won’t load.

*2024-12-05, version 1.3.1*

Won’t load after opening app. Broken.

### 2/5 — Unusable

*2026-02-07, version 1.3.2*

The app refreshes every three minutes or so and sets you back to the start. I then have to re-scroll through a ton of games just to try and get back to where I was.

### 2/5 — Inferior Experience

*2025-01-25, version 1.3.2*

Downloaded the app to try it out and deleted almost immediately. Basic functionality, like zooming in to read tiny text in images, is not supported. For me, this makes it unusable. Will try again when they improve it.

### 2/5 — Why couldn’t zoom in?

*2024-12-18, version 1.3.1*

Please make it could be zoom in.

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I’m wet

*2025-10-17, version 1.3.2*

I’m wet af

### 5/5 — Great Initial App

*2024-12-29, version 1.3.1*

This is for all the people who feel like giving the hard working app developer 1 star rating for an initial app release. Not sure why people feel the need to trash on an app when the developers are trying to make the experience better.

### 5/5 — Just like the web app but loads 10x faster

*2024-12-08, version 1.3.1*

Looks just like the web app but loads much faster can also set up notifications instead of receiving emails

### 4/5 — Good

*2025-01-24, version 1.3.2*

The app allows me to get notifications on my projects, but not much different than just using the website. Also, the iPad version doesn’t have a way to change language that I’ve found.

### 4/5 — Updates Page?

*2024-12-15, version 1.3.1*

I’m hoping to see an updates page come to this app eventually so that I don’t have to click through each project to see the latest updates. It would be so nice to have all of the updates in one place like Kickstarter does.

### 4/5 — Solid-ish

*2024-12-05, version 1.3.1*

1.0 release: It’s a solid implementation of the website. It looks just like it. The problem is that I would prefer to see my currently backed projects at the top of the app when I open it. It takes too long to find them.

Speaking of too long, I think the loading times could be improved.

Otherwise, it’s a very workmanlike app.

### 3/5 — Nice idea but buggy

*2025-03-17, version 1.3.2*

Love the idea of an app, but the implementation is pretty buggy. The worst is that it won’t go to the page presented by a phone notification if the app is already opened - it just comes up on whatever page it was already on.

### 3/5 — Just a repackaged webpage

*2024-12-06, version 1.3.1*

I’m thrilled that GF decided to bring an app to iPhone, but this first attempt leaves a lot to be desired. The app looks just like the mobile webpage.

I really had hoped for a better layout and easier navigation. Plus a dedicated place for messages, update activity, and settings.

Looking forward to future updates though. GF is way better than KS.
