### 4/5 — Incorporate IGN playlist sync/import

*2025-07-07*

The app is beautiful. One thing i would like that-please incorporate IGN playlist data. I tracked my data via IGN playlist app, so it would be nice if we have sync/import option.

### 4/5 — Liking it so far!

*2025-04-18*

Great for tracking my favorite games, both classic and new. The interface is clean and smooth and easy to use.

Couple pain points: I can’t seem to rate 10/10. I can only enter one digit 0–9. Also, the Send Feedback button doesn’t seem to do anything. And I can’t choose a default platform when quick-adding games.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback and kind words! The bug preventing you from rating a game 10/10, along with the issue with the “Send Feedback” button, will be fixed in an update scheduled for release next week.

As for your other point about the default platform, that’s something we’re currently looking into. Enjoy the app!

### 4/5 — Great App, Minor Complaint

*2025-04-16, version 1.3*

Love organizing, so I really like this app. For some reason, I can’t rate a game a 10/10. Highest you can rate a game is a 9/10.

### 4/5 — Great app with a great idea, but…

*2025-04-16*

I noticed that a lot of the games I play aren’t on here. Once more games are added, I will use this more and likely pay for the lifetime membership. This app as it is, is fantastic. I also think the search function should auto-populate based on the letters you are using in your search.

### 4/5 — Needs a lot of work to improve UX

*2025-03-31, version 1.2*

Looking individual play session is a chore, especially if I wanna put my past finished games in the library, do you really expect me to put all the hours into them one by one? Why not a simple completion progress bar or total playtime count against "Time to Beat" statistics? Also, Steam Deck is not a platform option??

### 4/5 — Really Surprised (In a Good Way)

*2024-12-15, version 1.1.3*

When I downloaded this I wasn’t expecting much but it’s blown me away and converted me to a paying customer for the premium features. It’s got the just right level of depth and complexity for me. It’s very nicely designed with clean UI.

Seems to be receiving regular updates that really add to the experience. In future updates I’d like to see the data go a little deeper and be able to filter by year/month on the insights page. I’d also like to be able to filter/group the game page by status type.

The graphs on the insight page could also do with an added numerical representation, as well as graphical, especially the pie chart and the y axis of the bar chart. There’s currently no way to see how much each segment equates to in a numerical sense pie chart i.e. it looks like I’ve finished a third of games I’ve played but how many games is that? And for the bar chart I can see I play more on Wednesday than Thursday by about 50% but how many hours was that?

Honestly, these are small fixes and the overall experience so far has been really good.

### 5/5 — Very good place to organize you games but some paywalls seem uneccesary

*2024-10-16*

This app is great! I’m able to have a visual library of all of my games—Owned and wish listed. It’s really fun to track your game time as well as write about good times you’ve had. It just seems a little weird that automated session timing and journaling is blocked by a pay wall. Pressing a button to stop and start a timer seems like a thing that should be pretty universal. Also, I kind of get adding attachments to notes being blocked by a paywall but I can’t even just write a simple comment on a game without paying for a subscription. Which again, seems like something that should be universal. One other thing I’d love to see in the future is a way to exclude not-owned or wish-listed games when sorting the list or maybe even some more sorting layouts. All in all this app is off to a great start, I just wish it had more at its base without needing to pay for it.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback and the kind words about the app! A new update will be available next week that fixes the bug that prevented you from adding a game to a journal entry. We’ll keep your feedback regarding sorting and filtering in mind for next versions.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2024-10-15*

Such a great app! Super easy to use even for a first time game tracker like myself. And it looks nice too

### 5/5 — Game Journal

*2024-10-15*

I love the games i grew up on but don’t have the time to sit and play them every day anymore. Using a game journal to keep track of what I’m doing in games such as Pokemon or Zelda is going to be huge when I’m forced to take longer than anticipated brakes between game sessions!

### 5/5 — Active game tracking

*2024-10-15*

Other apps in this space are geared towards managing your existing gaming library and cataloging, but love how this is geared on what you’re currently playing and upcoming releases. Things I’d love to see are custom list, sort+order (sort by release date and play time), and filtering (filter by ownership, status, or rating)

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Auto-Sync hidden or gone

*2025-08-29, version 1.6*

Subscribed because if the promise of auto-sync of play sessions. Was wondering how it’ll work anyway, cause there is not info on it.
Now I cannot seem to find the feature anywhere in the app.. where can I set it up? Feels like a scam!

### 3/5 — Not working

*2026-03-25*

So i downloaded to get organized with my games but the app is not working im just getting a lot of red error messages i cant search or do anyyhing inside please fix

**Developer response:** Hi, our server went down yesterday but this is now resolved. Thanks for your feedback!

### 3/5 — 🎮 GamePal – Your Gaming Life, Tracked

*2025-07-08*

🗂️ Collection Management: Works well, lets you log games across platforms
📝 Gaming Journal: Personal and customizable
⏱️ Session Tracker: Useful but manual unless you pay
📊 Stats & Charts: Visually appealing, but basic in the free version
📅 Release Calendar: Nice touch, easy to miss key releases sometimes
🔔 Smart Notifications: Only good if you’re deep into the ecosystem
☁️ iCloud Sync: Seamless and solid
🎨 Customization: Locked behind paywall
💸 Premium: Too expensive for what it gives back
🐢 Performance: Game search is slow… frustrating at times

💬 Personal Opinion

Feels like a companion 📓 for tracking your gaming journey, but it’s held back by slow performance and premium gating 🚫.
I love the idea, but it needs polish and better value for the price 🧾.
Would I recommend it? For free users, yes. For Platinum, not really 👎.

### 3/5 — App crashes a lot

*2025-07-07*

I just downloaded the app and I’m going through adding all the games I have played. In this process the app frequently crashes repeatedly with certain titles. Besides this the app has been great

### 3/5 — Potential but not for me

*2025-04-30*

This app is well designed and looks good. Unfortunately you can’t add the same game for multiple platforms. You also have to pay to be able to access the discord for support.

### 3/5 — Logging play time unintuitive

*2025-01-06, version 1.2*

I don’t know if I’m stupid but trying to log play time (from 2pm to 4pm) ends up logging 16 hours which obviously is not correct. Would be a decent app if this was more intuitive and actually correct.

### 3/5 — Promising

*2025-01-03, version 1.2*

Seems promising but misses too much features at the moment like connecting to Xbox, Steam, etc.. account. It’s not the best UX to log a game session. Also it’s impossible to add an amount of played hours that you could have got from Steam.

However, still promising.

### 4/5 — Missing games

*2026-06-01*

I notice some games especially in certain formats aren’t in this app. Specifically for me right now Shinobi for ps2 isn’t there only for the DS. Also it would be nice to be able to have one game be able to be added in multiple formats, you know if you own a game but say u have a version for ps3 and then one for another console.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! That’s something we’re working on, so stay tuned 😊

### 4/5 — Latest update

*2026-05-16*

Idk what happened with the latest update but the app has been crashing a lot and just lags

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! We have an update coming in a few days that will resolve this. My apologies!

### 4/5 — Love the idea but…

*2025-10-31*

We need to be able to add a game on multiple platforms with a single entry versus having to make separate entries for each platform we own a game on! I’ve got the same game on different platforms and it’d be helpful if it could be saved on the same entry. Thanks for making the app!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Truly the best game tracker

*2026-06-05*

This app is absolutely incredible for tracking games. The UI is so clean and beautiful. It’s very easy to use as well. The features are absolutely beyond. For many other trackers I have to use 2+ apps to get all the features but this app is absolutely perfect. You can time gameplay, keep a journal, and have amazing monthly and yearly stats all in one app. I couldn’t brag about this app anymore. There is also a discord that lets you give feedback and they are always improving the app (which even how? It’s already incredible). If you want to track your gaming and have very in depth stats, download this now!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the feedback, Heather!

### 5/5 — Awesome app!

*2026-05-16*

Stumbled upon this app by accident and was amazed by the sheer quality and functionality of it! Not only does it look clean but also has all the needed functions available in the free tier. No bs paywalling I love it

**Developer response:** Glad you’re liking it. Thanks for using the app!

### 5/5 — Love it on iPhone

*2026-03-23, version 1.8.1*

An android app would be awesome too

### 5/5 — GOAT App

*2025-10-25*

Just best game tracking app, hope to see an iPad version btw

### 5/5 — Immediately purchased premium. Great app!

*2025-09-22*

After having gone through most of the backlog apps on the App Store that I could find, I think this one is definitely the best. Importing games from IGDB is a necessary feature of any video game backlogger imo. Very well developed too, especially after coming from the buggy, unpolished mess of my old backlogger. No excessive bells and whistles, but just enough of what you’d need.

Just a couple things: I’d really like the option to show list items in grid form as there doesn’t appear to be that option as of now. Aside from that, being able to add custom tags to games would be great, adding more versatility to filtering.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the kind words! We actually just added the ability to view your collection in grid view.

Just tap the filter icon on the games tab and tap ‘Customize’. From there you can choose grid view. Happy gaming!

### 5/5 — Great app! But

*2025-07-01*

Can we be able to make nested lists, like lists inside of lists. In my opinion it would be useful for organizing specific game consoles inside lists.

**Developer response:** Thank for sharing your feedback! We’re currently working on other updates, but your idea will definitely be added to our list.

### 5/5 — Game Tracking

*2025-04-22, version 1.3*

I really love this app. It has a very beautiful design and allows me to keep track of the games I’ve played and I’m playing. All the widgets and stats are great too!

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2024-12-03*

I wanted to use this app for a bit longer before I submitted a review and I think I’m comfortable submitting one now. Each update greatly improves the user experience and the developers are always open to feedback and are transparent. This app is fantastic. I love the UI, the features, and the seamlessness of tracking game time. Performance lagged initially when having a lot of games but the devs improved it in an update. I’m excited to see where the app goes from here (ability to make ranked lists perhaps?) and how they will further improve the user experience.

**Developer response:** We appreciate your detailed review! It’s great to hear the updates have improved your experience. Ranked lists are a fantastic suggestion—stay tuned for future updates. Thanks for being part of GamePal’s journey!

### 5/5 — Really great start!

*2024-11-13, version 1.1.1*

It’s not every day where an app that first drops on the store ends up doing really well and this happens to be one of those that does it VERY WELL. I never knew I needed a gaming journal until I tried this out. For productivity it’s so good. Can’t wait for more stuff to be applied into the app!

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2024-10-29*

Spent money on this app and happy to do so! Great price for a rad app. Cool way to track your gaming. I use it every time I sit down to get some gaming on! (or try to when I don’t forget lol) Love the organization features and analytics
