### 1/5 — Not enough guide

*2017-03-23*

I got this app for current game only to discover it is not. I will be deleting this app.

### 1/5 — Ok guides...bad app

*2016-12-16*

The guides are decent but you can only use them if you can log in to gamer guides. If the site is down, you can't access guides...they are not actually downloaded onto device with the app.

### 1/5 — Screams "Fix Me"

*2015-10-25*

Gamer Guides and I have a year long history. It was a website first, and I've purchased three of their guides. I've seen content change and disappear without administrative warning. And now the app crashes whenever I open it on my iPad! I like the guides and the library. I just can't believe how annoyed I am with this app version. It doesn't work.

### 5/5 — Legend of Zelda

*2015-08-30*

Great freakin' job! I was STUMPED on Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword! The only thing I need is a little more Zelda games. I'm having trouble on The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Master Quest 3D. Can you add more Zelda soon? Thanks!

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2014-11-29*

Very helpful Rocomend getting any bad reviews are people who are faking you should download works 100%

### 1/5 — Poor

*2014-10-09*

Right away asks for personal info for access to your email list. Slow and chugging. Has good screenshots but you can find all those already on gamefaqs or IGN

### 1/5 — Extremely upset

*2014-09-14*

I would like to know how you guy claim a guide is free when you click on it but when you try to download it... I tries to charge you 9.99 or more if your going to charge people for a guide do not claim or write your guides are free

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2014-09-08*

Tried to get a guide for the last of us for the new remastered version using this app. I was glad to see it was free and then I saw a notice pop up to confirm a transaction for 15 dollars this is rude and a horrible app. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!

### 1/5 — Fraud Alert

*2014-09-02*

This app listed the guide for Pikmin 3 as free and then tried to charge me 9.99 to download. Thankfully I always try to check things before my grandson orders or downloads. Apple App Store will be notified.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1.2 — 2026-08-19

Version 2.1 is the biggest update since launch, rebuilt around getting you to the guide faster.

REDESIGNED
- Three tabs instead of five: Search, Maps and Guides. Your account, library and settings now live behind the avatar in the menu.
- The app opens on Search.
- Guides, sections and settings open as full pages instead of cards stacked over the app. The reader and the map get the whole screen.
- Signing in is a card now, not a page that takes over the app.
- Frosted panels on guide, map, database and checklist headers, and one consistent banner on every screen that has one.

NEW
- Continue reading: a shelf on the home screen with every guide you have open, and one tap back to the exact page. Forget any guide you are done with.
- Checklists: track every collectible in a game, one location at a time, from the guide or straight from a map marker.
- Currently Playing is an editable shelf, and you can import what you are playing from Steam.
- Recent comments: a feed for each guide, with a teaser on the guide's landing page.
- Search now covers achievements as well as guides, maps, markers and database items.

MAPS
- The full filter drawer from the website: category switches with live counts, My Notes, My Submissions, and Show, Fade or Hide for markers you have already collected.
- Simplify Map for a cleaner view, and two-column filters on iPad.
- Map lists give each map its own numbered card with Save, and show comment counts.
- Note pins draw with proper icons.
- One Add button covers both markers and private notes.

READING
- Sepia moved into the reader, where it belongs: it is reading paper, not an app appearance.
- Bookmarks and comments moved into the reader bar.
- Fixed the safe-area gap at the bottom of pages, the tab bar painting over the reader, link tap targets, and the end of a guide.

ACHIEVEMENTS
- Rating scales rebuilt to match the website, and you can now clear a rating you have given.
- Community ratings sit alongside your own.

Removed: the reader's Listen control.

### 2.0.2 — 2026-08-12

Reading
• Listen is now a button in the reader's control bar, so a guide can read itself aloud in one tap.
• Listening shows how far through the page it has read.
• Headings are no longer read out with a stray paragraph mark.
• Your chosen font now applies to headings as well as body text.
• The page keeps its bottom edge when the controls hide, and no longer insets twice on newer iPhones.
• The reader says when you have reached the last page.
• A tap beside a link no longer counts as a tap on it.

Maps
• Adding a marker no longer leaves the description box behind the keyboard.
• Map note pins take their colour as you pick it, rather than on save.

Account
• Your profile picture shows the default avatar instead of an empty circle.
• Switching appearance now repaints the reader's bar and controls with everything else.
• Checklists say when they are coming, rather than leading Explore with an empty screen.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-08-07

Gamer Guides has been rebuilt from the ground up as a native iPhone and iPad app. Everything below is new in this version.

INTERACTIVE MAPS, PROPERLY NATIVE
Maps now run in the app rather than a web view: smooth panning and zooming, tilt into 3D, and multiple floors and regions on the games that have them. Filter by category, search a map by name, and tick off collectibles as you find them. Routes trace an efficient path through a map step by step, and zones, labels and arrows mark out areas and directions.

ADD TO THE MAPS YOURSELF
Spotted something we missed? Drop a marker with a screenshot and a description, and our team reviews it before it goes live for everyone. You can also pin private notes anywhere on a map, just for you.

A REAL READER
- Four appearance modes: Default, Dark, Light and Sepia.
- Adjustable text size and a choice of body typefaces, including two designed for easier reading.
- Swipe or tap between pages, with an optional page turn animation.
- Listen mode reads any guide aloud with adjustable speed and a choice of voices, and keeps going with the screen locked.
- Search inside a guide, jump anywhere from the contents drawer, and bookmark any page.

READ WITHOUT SIGNAL
Download a full guide, images and all, and read it offline. Built for flights, commutes and handheld play.

ITEM DATABASES AND TROPHY GUIDES
Browse complete item databases with stats, locations and artwork, and jump straight from a map marker to the item it holds. Trophy and achievement guides now include roadmaps, difficulty ratings, your own screenshots, and community ratings for how hard or how long something takes, across PlayStation, Xbox and Steam.

MORE TO READ
Reviews and previews with our own scoring, video guides, and Updates from the team.

YOUR LIBRARY
My Games gathers everything you are playing. Bookmarks, downloads and reading progress sync with GamerGuides.com, so you can start on your phone and finish on your desktop. Build a profile, show your setup and platforms, and see what other players are up to.

BUILT FOR IPAD
Wider layouts throughout, with a contents drawer beside the page instead of over it.

EXISTING MEMBERS
Sign in with your Gamer Guides account, Apple or Google to bring your bookmarks and reading progress with you. If you already subscribe, use Restore Purchases in Account to bring your membership across.
