## What is Gammon?

Backgammon, beautifully.

Gammon is backgammon stripped back to what matters - a board you actually want to look at, and a game that gets out of your way. No coins, no timers, no noise. Just the roll, the board, and the next move.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-28

A new look. The board is now pale limed oak with navy velvet and brass, and the checkers are flat matte ivory and blue, in the spirit of a fine boxed set. The board is bigger on every screen, and on iPad it fills the display in portrait and landscape. The dark side is now called Azure.

A better feel at the table:

- Combined-dice moves: tap a checker and you now see where it can land using both dice together, not just one.
- The dice are thrown big in the centre of the board, and turns are paced so you can actually watch each move and the opponent's play.
- Smoother, calmer, easier to follow.

### 1.2 — 2026-07-24

Fixes an issue where checkers on the near (bottom) half of the board could not be tapped to move. Every point is now fully responsive across iPhone and iPad.

- Tap the board to roll — the dice now tumble and settle, no more Roll button.
- You choose exactly where every checker goes. No more auto-moves; tap a checker, then tap the spot.
