I genuinely wanted to find a duo but I couldn't because not only do I have to use spark fo find people I would like to actually play with, but to see the people who liked me so I can check If I wanted to be their duo, bet you guessed it, ALSO BEHIND ANOTHER PAYWALL, this app is genuinely a great idea, but having to spend money to find who I want to play with is pushing it, and causing me to not to want to play the game at all. **Developer response:** Appreciate the feedback. Quick clarification: Spark doesn't cost money, you can earn it just by being active (streaks, playing with duos, etc.). The core loop of finding teammates and matching is free, Ace just speeds things up. On the "weird users", we built Duo Score precisely so you can see who's gotten good reviews from real duos before. Report and block tools are built in for anyone acting up, and we act on them. ### 2/5 — Always a paywall *2026-05-05* It started off good at first then I went to see to see my likes and have to use 400 spark and after 3 days of using I could finally see the like. Just make it cost like 100-200 to see who liked. **Developer response:** Thanks for the input. Seeing who liked you is a strict paywall in basically every swipe app, while in Duos it’s intentionally affordable via Spark. 400 Spark is meant to be accessible (you get 500 on signup when you enable notifications), and if you actually play with your Duos you’ll earn more and unlock multiple like-reveals pretty quickly. Appreciate the feedback either way. ### 3/5 — Yep *2026-04-10* Always hated that you can’t like someone who liked you immediately, it can take you days until you finally like the person. **Developer response:** Appreciate the honest take, Jaimison! While Duos sometimes do require patience, we actually built the Spark system so you can see who liked you instantly for free by being active, rather than keeping that feature strictly paywalled like most other similar apps. ### 2/5 — feedback *2026-02-22* i like where u were able to like you know copy and paste their username without them having to type it more easier to get their username but now that that’s gone it’s kind of like more cause like you gotta type in manually and if they’re using a certain type of what is it called or fine it’s gonna be a little bit more hard **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! We've heard from a few players that it can be easy to miss, so we're looking at ways to make it more accessible. ### 2/5 — so much behind a paywall *2026-02-09* wanna see who swiped right on you? paywall. wanna swipe more than 20 times? paywall. wanna get more visibility? paywall 11 dollar subscription for an app meant for something valorant lfg can do for you for free is just wild. I don't see a use for this app if you could do the same thing for free somewhere else. **Developer response:** We heard this from multiple players and acted on it. We just launched Spark, which lets you earn extra likes, skips, and reveals for free through streaks and gameplay. The goal is premium as an upgrade, not a gate. Worth another try. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Shows the same people *2026-07-13* Shows the same people over and over again even after swiping on them. **Developer response:** Appreciate you flagging it. There was a small bug that occasionally let an already-swiped profile slip back into the stack, which is exactly the kind of thing that gets annoying fast even if it's rare. We tracked it down and shipped a fix in the latest update, so the feed should stay clean now. Give it another run and see how it feels. ### 1/5 — Dating app and paid *2026-06-30* Honestly this is such a bad idea, why do I have to download an app just to find people to play with ? The official valorant discord MAKES you use this app, it’s stupid and literally no one is ever online when your actually trying to play because the like system is so stupid, I’ve had people like me back 5 hours after I’ve gone to sleep. Either make an “active now” section or delete the app from the discord **Developer response:** Duos can be immediate, but it's really built for longer-term friendships than instant queue-ups. If you want a guaranteed live experience, the legacy Gankster community is the better fit and it's open to you now. Appreciate you taking the time to write this up. ### 1/5 — Account was deleted- No resolution *2026-05-30* I created an account before a major update, and it was linked to my Riot account. After the update, I attempted to log in again, but I was prompted to create a new account instead. I contacted support, and all they said was: “Hey [my name], unfortunately we aren’t able to reinstate the account or retrieve it if you are unable to log in. We apologize for this. Four, Community Moderator.” My account has never been banned on the app or through Riot. Their disregard for their members clearly shows. **Developer response:** Appreciate you flagging this, and sorry for the runaround. We took a look from our side: your account wasn't deleted and you weren't banned, your original is still there with your duos intact. What happened is the sign-in used a different Riot login than the one you first signed up with, so the app opened a fresh account instead of your existing one. Sign back in with your original Riot account and your duos will be right where you left them. Not sure which one? Email support@gankster.gg and we'll find it with you. ### 1/5 — Bad app don’t recommend *2026-05-28* The idea is good but the execution is not. First of all, the fact that it’s not free ruins it immediately. Finding someone to play with shouldn’t cost you any money, and they try and solve this with ways to earn “spark” that give you laughably low amounts of it compared to the cost to reveal someone who liked your profile. Secondly, the core way to earn these “sparks” is to play with a duo you found there, which you cannot do if the first duo that you used your free spark on doesn’t answer. Basically, you get one attempt at getting a duo then you have to pay. The worst part is that they are paying popular Valorant discord servers who usually had chats for this to take chats out and use this system exclusively, completely ruining an easy way to find a duo. **Developer response:** Quick correction, because this isn't quite how it works. Finding a teammate is free: swipe right in Discover and you match the moment someone likes you back, no Spark or reveal needed. Spark actually exists to give free users a way to unlock premium features without paying, no other swipe app does that. You earn it just by being active, daily streaks and the signup bonus, not only by playing with a duo. Reveal just tells you who liked first, the same shortcut every other app puts straight behind a subscription. The matching itself never costs anything. ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2026-05-27* I was using gankster for the scrim finding options when I accidentally clicked on the duos pop up. It locked me in that screen, and no matter what I did, it wouldn’t leave that screen. From restarting the app to doing a soft reset on my phone, nothing worked. I downloaded duos to see if that fixed it, and it didn’t. I had to uninstall the scrim finding app, and now it’s not even on the App Store so I have to use other services. On top of that, the duos app is extremely limited. You can do everything in there, and more, for free, on discord or another app. **Developer response:** Appreciate the honest feedback, and I get the frustration. Truth is the scrims app just wasn't used by many people, most were on desktop/web, and it got to the point where maintaining it wasn't viable so we had to sunset it. Wish we'd had another way. On Duos: if you're actually looking to find people to play with, give it a real shot. It's nothing like Discord. We match you on rank, role, and playstyle instead of shouting into an LFG channel. ### 1/5 — horrible *2026-03-25* Basically forces you to buy their ace or other micro transactions just to find people to play with **Developer response:** Finding people to play with is free. You get daily likes and skips, they reset every day, and Spark lets you earn more through streaks and playing with your duos. Ace removes the limits entirely, but it’s not required to match. After that, you hit a “daily swipe limit” and have to pay for a subscription to bypass it. Countless things are locked behind paywalls, even just seeing who swiped right on you is a challenge. If you are this desperate to find a duo, use Discord. **Developer response:** Appreciate the honest feedback, and glad the core experience works for you. Give it another shot if you get the chance. ### 2/5 — Useless now unless you pay for Subscription *2026-07-06* One of the recent updates forces you to swipe with players that are 7 rank tiers below you (diamond 1 - immortal) for valorant So unless you pay for their subscription, you have to spam swipe no on everyone who is obviously so much lower rank than you. Useless app for immortal+ players now. Before it was Asc+ but now diamond? Insane. It should default to 3 rank tiers below and above; there is too much skill difference to match diamond 1 players with immortals. The only downside is that the ACE membership is required for a lot of features, which can limit the experience for free users. I’d also recommend improving the age system. Some users’ profiles can make them appear older than they actually are, so the displayed age isn’t always accurate. One feature I’d really like to see is a small review system. The current tags like “Fun,” “Chill,” and “Positive” are nice, but it would be even better if players who have actually played with you could leave a short review about their experience. That way, other players can get a better idea of someone’s personality, intentions, and what they’re like to play with before matching with them. Overall, Gankster is a great concept, and a review system would make finding trustworthy and compatible players even better. ### 4/5 — Finding Duo‘s BUT only for Valorant…. *2026-07-16* I gave you 4 Stars because I like the Gankster Duos App pretty much, BUT: Its only for Valorant.
