### 4/5 — Almost My Favorite

*2024-07-30, version 2.4.9*

This is almost my favorite plant care guide app to use. It’s easy to navigate, very intuitive, well organized, but I can’t give it a 5 star review because none of the plants have photos. I have to Google search every plant to see what it looks like. But other than that, I have no complaints!

### 2/5 — Can’t find location for weather

*2023-05-31, version 2.4.9*

Appears to be USA focused. Couldn’t find a large town in UK by search or ‘use current location’. Needs updating as new weather feature doesn’t work.

### 3/5 — Major Potential

*2023-05-28, version 2.4.9*

I may not be able to use it now, as its missing a huge chunk of info and names on common houseplants, but I enjoyed the interface and way of interacting. I also enjoy that this app doesn't cost you a penny to keep weather and humidity in the same place to check. It is too bad it is a bit buggy or doesn't respond to searches or button taps sometimes.

### 4/5 — So sad I can’t use it anymore ❤️

*2023-02-26, version 2.4.9*

This would have been my most favorite app in the world if they would have not given up on improving it. The weather thing, the glitches. If the developer kept it up it would have been so great and the best one out there :(

### 2/5 — Cute graphics, no function

*2022-12-21, version 2.4.9*

I really like the graphics. It would be great to have a grouping feature to group plants in the same garden or area as I water them together. The reminders do not work. Every time I try to set one, I get an “Oh oh!” Error. The app really isn’t very helpful if I cannot track when I planted things, and when they need to be watered. It’s literally just a list of plants.

### 2/5 — Aesthetically pleasing, but

*2022-11-25, version 2.4.9*

Very few of the functions work (reminders had no suggested timeline or info for a very common plant; weather didn’t work at all), and the lack of privacy info disclosure was concerning. Wanted it to be what I needed, but in the end I deleted.

### 1/5 — app is no longer supported

*2022-07-19, version 2.4.9*

app is no longer supported and doesn’t work

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2022-07-01, version 2.4.9*

Only seems to be for USA. Wouldn’t update location for weather and all the plants are American

### 3/5 — Weather feature is not working

*2022-05-06, version 2.4.9*

Downloaded this app specifically in hopes that it will help me learn when to water my outdoor plants using the weather monitoring feature.

I was unable to get it to work.
It would not load or “activate my location”. Please fix bug !

### 1/5 — Poor App Performance

*2022-04-26, version 2.4.9*

No indexing of Dadabase, no easy navigation, hit or miss search results

### 1/5 — Almost immediately deleted.

*2022-03-04, version 2.4.9*

So many glitches that I couldn’t get through the initial setup process without multiple app crashes

### 1/5 — Broken

*2022-02-15, version 2.4.9*

Can’t even get started: weather location search doesn’t work.

### 2/5 — Nice ui, code needs work

*2022-02-04, version 2.4.9*

Looks great and feels like I’d want to use it, but several features didn’t work, such as the weather and request info buttons. Also, the long list of plants is nice, but none which I looked up had descriptions. Deleting, will try again in a year.

### 3/5 — Not enough

*2022-01-15, version 2.4.9*

I have plants on my house that aren’t here in the database. So I just have to make them up here.

### 2/5 — Very glitchy

*2022-01-11, version 2.4.9*

Won’t load my location, no details on any of the plants I’ve planted. Lacking a lot of features. Great idea though

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2022-01-03, version 2.4.9*

The app doesn’t work.

### 3/5 — Fantastic look, lacking function

*2021-11-06, version 2.4.9*

I have been looking for an app that was going to help me organise and care for my garden. After sorting through MANY apps, I saw this one and thought it looked great. However after downloading it I quickly discovered that nearly every button I pressed, I would receive a “something went wrong” banner, and many of the plant varieties I have in my Australian garden are not available yet. The location for the weather also wouldn’t work for me… just kept spinning with nothing happening. Disappointing as I really wanted to live this app, it shows a lot of potential.

### 3/5 — I love this app but…

*2021-11-03, version 2.4.9*

Most of the plants I buy are pretty common but don’t populate, so I’ve had to submit to have them added to the directory. It’s been over a year or so for many, and they still haven’t been added. And there’s a glitch when adding pictures and naming if you do it out of sequence. Overall the app is good to keep up with my plants.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work properly

*2021-10-28, version 2.4.9*

App is not detecting my location and the plant with details are extremely limited. Needs bug fixes and updates!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Garbagia

*2024-05-12, version 2.4.9*

This database needs some work, it has quite a few oddities and none of the most common ones.

### 1/5 — App not updated since 2018

*2024-04-26, version 2.4.9*

Weather doesn’t work. That’s the whole reason I downloaded it

### 1/5 — Broken

*2024-02-15, version 2.4.9*

App is absolute trash. Perpetual try again later error….. considering last update was 6 years ago don’t waste your time.

### 1/5 — Could be a great app

*2024-01-19, version 2.4.9*

This app has so much potential but it’s so glitchy. Half of the features don’t work and there are constant error messages. Please fix this app, I’d love to use it!

### 1/5 — Reminders don’t even work

*2023-08-30, version 2.4.9*

I needed an app that would let me customize watering and feeding schedules since I have some specialty plants. When trying to set up a reminder I just get an error message “something went wrong try again later” on a red bar at the top. I made sure to give the app all the permissions it needed in settings. Please update!!

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2023-08-19, version 2.4.9*

Error message after error message. Couldn’t set up weather feature, couldn’t add fertilizer reminders, couldn’t find many plants. I don’t know how or why this hasn’t been patched.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2023-05-27, version 2.4.9*

Can’t tap things. When I try to request a plant be added it sends an error message. Completely unusable

### 1/5 — Poor database with no information on the most popular garden plants

*2023-01-02, version 2.4.9*

Very disappointing, with very little information on the most common of plants. Lavandula angustifolia wasn’t even there. Plus weather area selector doesn’t work either all in all very poor. Don’t waste your time it be faster to just use google.

### 1/5 — Incomplete

*2022-12-13, version 2.4.9*

Missing some pretty basic plants, button to request a plant results in generic “something went wrong” error message. Cool idea, poor execution.

### 1/5 — Broken.

*2022-08-04, version 2.4.9*

August 4 2022. No functions other than plant look up work. Trying to set a reminder of any kind results in an error. Bummer. Looks nice otherwise.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good start

*2022-04-06, version 2.4.9*

Great looking app would definitely us everyday but needs updating as I can’t set reminders or update just says oops something went wrong

### 5/5 — Helpful!

*2020-12-10, version 2.4.9*

Helpful!

### 5/5 — A must-have NOT!!!

*2020-05-25*

Other than the annoyance of having to type in the scientific name of each of your plants (who bothers to know that anyways???) the weather location does not work, (a little loading circle barely seems to appear and don’t even bother trying to type it in, nothing happens). app is a bit quirky. Not much use you can get out of it. I’m not old but I’d much rather have a pen and paper in my hand to keep tabs on my plants and just use the basic “reminders” app on my IPhone for when I’m going to water. If you do want to know the scientific names of your plants just go to google. I tried typing in the common name and what do you know, a little icon pops up ... “ooops we don’t seem to have that plant! Create your own generic kind if you want...” Like, who does that!? I really hope my 5star rating of this makes it to the top of the list just so people will read this first and not waste their time. U R WELCOME.

### 5/5 — Perfect!

*2019-10-22, version 2.4.9*

I need to find the scientific names for some of my plants to add them accurately, but there is no subscription or hidden fees in this delightful gardening app! I look forward to taking better care of my green friends

### 5/5 — My favorite plant tracker so far!

*2019-10-17*

There’s a lot I really love about this app. The interface is nice and easy to use, and I love that it has so many types of notification options (even custom ones!). However, it would be really nice to have a notes/journal section so that I can keep track of when I DID water/fertilize/etc. since I don’t necessarily do it at the same time I set a notification.

Other things I love: the option to name your plants, the fact that most of their common names/scientific names are correct (I often find these mismatched on plant databases where entries aren’t validated), care quick guides for each entry.

Overall, this has been my favorite of all the plant apps I’ve tried, and highly recommend it!

### 5/5 — Weather Bug and Lack of Common Plants

*2019-07-23, version 2.4.9*

Good idea but the weather section doesn’t work and while the app may have over 9000 species of plants, it doesn’t have common plants like strawberries, grapes, or roses. The only plants I’m working on keeping alive right now. Someone else mentioned a plant log and that would be a great idea too! Hope it improves soon because right now this app is just taking up space on my phone.

### 5/5 — Awesome Idea!

*2019-07-04, version 2.4.9*

This is such an amazing app!! I never though that I could keep all my plants so organized. However, there are many plants that I cannot find on the app, most of which are succulents. If this company could create an app like this just for succulents, it would be amazing!
Thank you for your time!

### 5/5 — Very useful!

*2019-01-18, version 2.4.9*

I really enjoy this app. It helps me familiarise myself with the different kinds of plants in my garden. I would love to see a way to add a date of when I’ve planted something instead of adding it to the name.

### 5/5 — Solid App

*2018-08-03, version 2.4.9*

Pretty solid to set reminders for my succulents. Not sure what else to say.

### 5/5 — Wonderful app

*2018-04-28*

I am really thankful for this app. I like having a profile at hand for each of my plants, and also being able to set reminders for each task. Some features I would recommend adding are 1. being able to label the “custom” task after you’ve set it (for my dracaena it’s misting); 2. also being able to fill in the missing profile information if you happen to have a plant whose info is not yet in Gardenia’s database (like my dracaena deremensis), but you’ve researched the plant’s needs and still want to have it right on hand. Lastly I’d love to see the addition of a “gardening journal “ feature for each plant in one’s collection.

A fantastic app with a bright future! Keep up the great work! 👍
